Anti Trump art using horrible vintage ads

Every day another artist reaches their boiling point and unleashes their feelings about the current administration in the only way they know how.  With heroin. Jk.  With their art, of course.  The really brutal and powerful work like the Lynching Banner at Shainman Gallery in New York and the disturbingly silly work like the photo essay of look alikes living out Trump travesties.  And so so many more to come. Saint Hoax, an anonymous artist who splits his time between Beirut and New York City, waited for National Women’s Day to release a number of ads, actually ridiculously misogynistic ads from the 1950’s, and replaced the ad copy with quotes made by the donald. Even just looking at the images and knowing they were the part of a real campaign at one time. It’s just disturbing on it’s own. JLo Sells Hollywood Hills Mansion for $10 million

On the heels of learning that Jennifer Lopez is dating A-Rod, we learn she’s unloaded her LA mansion after about a year of trying.  Jen recently took up a residency gig working exclusively at The Axis in Vegas. And those gigs come with giant multi story apartments in the Casino’s, so who needs some silly place in the hills? The 17,129 square foot monster of a home has all your bells and whistles. 9 bedrooms with a master of your dreams, the theater, 2 bars, one in a stately game and lounge area, gym, recording studio… I mean you could just go on an on. Still I was surprised by the casual feel of the place. For 17k square feet owned by what’s reported to be a pretty big diva, the place seems really livable. Banksy Opens Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem

Banksy is, at his core, a political satirist.  A cartoonist. He just likes to make things more public and in your face. More interactive.  So the fact that his first hotel is just a canvas for the worlds anxieties is no surprise.  But damn it’s fun! “Walled Off Hotel”, an obvious pun on the Waldorf, the New York City hotel that caters to the richest of the rich, and it’s location in the West Bank on the Palestine-Israel border wall.  It opens officially on March 11th. You have just GOT to look through these photos and see the masterpiece that I will never get to stay in because I’m not crazy and I’m not going there. Alec Baldwin won’t play Donald Trump much longer

Alec Baldwin may be receiving praise for his role as Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” but the actor doesn’t plan on playing the president that much longer – and doesn’t know how much more viewers will be able to take. “His policies aside, which you can hate, I thought he would have just relaxed,” Baldwin told “Extra’s” Mario Lopez. “The maliciousness of this White House has people worried, which is why I’m not going to do it much longer, the impersonation, I don’t know how much more people can take it.” Baldwin’s impersonation has been a hit on “SNL” since he took on the temporary gig during the election. Yet with Trump’s unexpected win, Baldwin has continued to portray Trump over the last month, but, as mentioned, doesn’t see it lasting very long. Tavi Gevinson Writing new book

I was gaga for Tavi Gevinson when she was just a 14 year old style blogger at home with her parents in Chicago.  And then when she got the attention of people like Miuccia Prada and was getting free clothes to pattern clash the hell out of her funky unique style.  Then she hit the big time and went to the Dior Couture show in Paris, which ended up a mess because she wore a high hat and blocked the view of actual editors and.. ugh… it was a mess. Forget about that.  She redeemed herself as a great judge on Project Runway. But you gather than in her short 20 year life,  she’s had a lot happen.  She has since starred on Broadway in “The Crucible,” and was overheard at a Coach show last week telling pals she’s penning the new tome. “It will be about her experiences working on plays and her life here in New York,” an insider said. But “she has not finished it or tried to sell it yet.” She also appears in the new Sundance movie “Person to Person.” Btw, Tavi also made this delightful piece of New York Times #NewWayof Seeing series where she talks to a few artists about how technology changes how we appreciate art. Flip or Flop’s Tarek is on “The Doctors” next week!

Look for some of the skinny on that nasty makeover meltdown of a relationship?  Head over to The Doctors on Monday, March 6th, and catch Tarek El Moussa spilling his guts over what happened. “I feel like if we had better communication, we would have had a better relationship,” Tarek, 36, confessed. Tarek, who battled thyroid cancer and then testicular cancer during the marriage, believes a combination of mixed communication, overnight fame and his terrifying health problems ultimately led to the highly publicized divorce. “I think as time went on, you get busier and busier — and you know, it was overnight — businesses, TV, all these things happened at once, and then the cancer, then the cancer, then the back surgery,” he said. “It just kind of starting pushing us apart from each other.” Tarek’s post-mortem matched up fairly well with his estranged wife’s account. “I had never even known anyone with cancer, so it was a very scary time,” Christina, 33, told People in late February, adding, “Like any couple, we had our share of issues, but we went through a lot in a short amount of time … I was overwhelmed. The tension between me and Tarek was high. We weren’t able to properly communicate anymore. It got to the point where we weren’t even driving to set together.”   Yikes. That’ll do it.
