Peppa Pig has left the building

Sort of.  What had happened was the girl who voices the delightfully British, mud puddle jumping, friend to everyone pig named Peppa has decided to step down from the role!

If you thought Peppa sounded genuinely young, you were right.  Actress Harley Bird is 18 now, but she’s been the voice of Peppa for 13 years.  Since she was Five!  (yea, I flexed that math out)

Speaking about the news, Harley, who is said to have raked in $1300 an hour for her role, said: “Becoming the voice of Peppa at the age of five was the start of an incredible journey, and I’ll never forget my time on the show.”

She is stepping aside from the job to make way for Amelie Bea, nine, who has branded the new role ‘a dream come true’.

Frank Sinatra’s gold toilets sold at auction

Frank Sinatra’s gold toilets sold at auction

I’m a fan of Frank Sinatra’s music and that’s hard for me because I’m aware that be beat his wives something terrible. That seems like an odd way to open, but I had to get that out before jumping into the frivolous end of things…

Three gold-topped toilets from Sinatra’s “Chairman’s Suite” at the Golden Nugget hotel in Atlantic City went up for auction Sunday.  People bought them.  People that need a hug. That’s my guess.

The lavish Italian marble-and-gold loos, made by the New York City-based Sherle Wagner International, were among a collection of Sinatra goodies up for grabs by SS Auction Inc.

The assortment also was flush with furniture, lamps, artwork and antique clocks from his crap there at the hotel.

So how much? Well first you need to know that the things are supposed to have cost $30k when made.  They sold for $4,250, $3,500 and $3,750.  Ha! Dummies.  All of them.

Billy Eichner to play Matt Drudge in Clinton-Lewinsky tv drama

Billy Eichner to play Matt Drudge in Clinton-Lewinsky tv drama

Eichner, Drudge

So people have been loving the whole move to revisit the biggest scandals of decades past and the Presidential Impeachment of Bill Clinton has GOT to be up high on the list.  The cast is coming along fabulously.

Beanie Feldstien is set to play Monica Lewinsky in the Fox mini series. Clive Owen is playing Bill Clinton and now we’ve learned comedian and actor Billy Eichner is going to play right wing blog reporter Matt Drudge!

It was the Drudge Report that first broke news of the White House affair on Jan. 17, 1998, then reporting that Newsweek editors were sitting on a story by investigative reporter Michael Isikoff.

Sarah Paulson is also in the movie and I’m really interested to see how she play it, because she’s playing Linda Tripp. The woman who taped Monica Lewinsky and turned the tapes over to investigators. She was a larger woman and Paulson would have a long way to go to fill her dress.

Anyway, it sounds amazing. I can’t wait.

Oops! Halsey accidentally calls for collapse of One Trade Center

Oops! Halsey accidentally calls for collapse of One Trade Center

It was an OBVIOUS accident and just a lack of information that led Halsey to tweet out that someone ought to collapse the massive One Trade Center that sits on the site of the original World Trade Center that was brought down by terrorists.

What had happened was… Music site Pitchfork.com reviewed Halsey album “Maniac” and called the effort “tedious” and referred to it as “the kind of amorphous pop that you might associate with a miserable Lyft ride.”

Well Halsey was piiiiissseddd.  She tweeted out; “can the basement that they run p*tchork out of just collapse already.”

What she didn’t know was Pitchfork.com’s office’s are on the 40th floor of One World Trade.   But twitter users caught it and went bizzonkers….

“Losing my mind thinking about the person on halsey’s team who had to tell her she just called for the collapse of one world trade,” tweeted NBC News reporter Ben Kesslen.

“ABSOLUTELY deleted it upon realizing this,” she tweeted. “Was just trying to make a joke! Intended zero harm.”

“Just figured I could poke at them back with the same aloof passive aggression they poke artists with!,” Halsey added. “Clearly a misunderstanding.”

I know. I know.

Taylor Swift’s mother diagnoses with brain tumor

Taylor Swift’s mother diagnoses with brain tumor

Such sad news learned this morning.  Taylor Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, who has battled breast cancer, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Taylor made the statement in her Variety cover story, in which she discusses her forthcoming Netflix documentary, “Miss Americana,” which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Andrea’s cancer returned while the pop star was filming, explaining, “she was going through chemo, and that’s a hard enough thing for a person to go through.”

She added, “While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumor. And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family.”

Taylor’s mother’s health battles influenced her decision to keep her touring for her latest album, “Lover,” to a minimum so she could be around whenever her mother needed her.

“I mean, we don’t know what is going to happen. We don’t know what treatment we’re going to choose,” she shared. “It just was the decision to make at the time, for right now, for what’s going on.”

Taylor addressed her mother’s health in her song “Soon You’ll Get Better” that featured the Dixie Chicks.

“I know delusion when I see it in the mirror / You like the nicer nurses, you make the best of a bad deal,” Taylor sings. “I just pretend it isn’t real.”

Andrea was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
