Brooklyn Nine-Nine to address police roll in society in next season

Back in June the decision-makers on the hit show Brooklyn Nine-Nine threw out the scripts for four upcoming episodes in the wake of protests sparked by the police killing of George Floyd. Now Andy Samberg is stating that the show’s characters will ‘examine their roles in the world’ as the cop comedy retools in the wake of the protests. The 42-year-old actor also clarified that the long-running comedy would address both systemic racism and police brutality in its upcoming season during an interview with USA Today that was published on Friday. ‘The challenge is going to be being honest about what is going on in the world and not shying away from the fact that there are serious problems and also not punishing viewers who like our show and care about our characters,’ he said. I’ve always felt that BNN did an amazing job of remaining genuinely funny while reflecting the progressive culture unfolding around us.  And they did so without making the characters bumbling idiots.  So I’m all in on checking out their handling of this sensitive topic while operating from within the profession seen as the problem. So far all we know about the release of season 8 is that it will come in early 2021. Gabourey Sidibe is engaged to Brandon Frankel

Omg the adorable Gabourey Sidibe got engaged! The “Precious” actress announced that she and Brandon Frankel are engaged, almost a year after going public with their relationship.  I’m thrilled because Gabby is super fun and I’m glad someone appreciates it. “It’s weird that people think we’re already married but I guess our hearts and intentions for each other are just that clear to see,” Sidibe, 37, wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever. The funniest man I’ve ever met. The sweetest human to exist.” She then described the little ways that Frankel makes her happy every day. “@brandontour made up a song for when i put my bonnet on at night. The second I look a bit stressed and overwhelmed, he jumps into action to take over what he can for me,” she wrote. “Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner i thought I was too independent to need.” For her Instagram engagement announcement, Sidibe shared a video of herself flashing a sparkling engagement ring while Frankel, 35, shouted, “I put a ring on it!” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gabby Sidibe ?? Melissa Gilbert says her spinal surgery was ‘wildly successful’

Actress Melissa Gilbert had her fourth spinal surgery and afterward called the operation “wildly successful.” The 56-year-old “Little House on the Prairie” star shared her health update with her 94,200 Instagram followers Thursday. “Surgery was wildly successful! Dr. Bray was able to remove all the old hardware, shave off bone spurs causing numbness in my right hand and, and, and, he was able to give me the artificial disc,” Gilbert captioned a post-surgery photo of herself smiling. “So now I focus on recovery and remaining Covid free. Thank you all for your love, support and prayers. I send so much love back to you all.” Earlier in the week, Gilbert told her followers she was scheduled to undergo surgery to relieve the constant pain. “I’ve now reached the point where the pain is nearly constant and the fingers on my right hand are beginning to tingle,” she wrote in a separate post Monday. Album John Lennon signed for his killer comes to auction

Lennon seen signing the album for Mark David Chapman whose face is seen partially on the right. Starting today, you can own one of the most tragic pieces of Beatle history/memorabilia.  This is way heady. On December 8th, 1980, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were leaving their home at the Dakota in New York City.  Lennon stopped to sign an autograph for a fan. He signed a copy of his “Double Vision” album and went on his way to a recording studio. Eight hours later, John and Yoko returned to the Dakota and the young man who had gotten his autograph just hours earlier stepped out of the shadows and fired multiple times, killing Lennon and marking one of the saddest days in music history. Apparently the shooter, Mark David Chapman, left his signed album at the scene and someone picked it up. it was used as evidence in the trial and then returned to the guy who picked it up that day and eventually sold in 1998.  Now it’s back up for sale and I am waaaayyyyy curious what this goes for. Bidding has started at $400,000 and continues for 20 days at GoldinAuctions.com. Lennon’s signature is in blue pen on the neck of the image of Yoko Ono on the front. Lennon also inscribed “1980” below his signature. The numbers above Lennon’s signature in black marker are police evidence markings. On the back of the album on the upper right corner to the left of the song listings, handwritten in blue pen are other police markings tat reads “Det M. Struk #7247 20 DET Sqd 1330 Hrs 12/9/80”. Marc Anthony selling enchanting Florida Mansions

Marc Anthony has six kids, so you’ll forgive him for needing a little more space than most of us.  About 16,989 square feet of space, to be exact. In Florida’s cozy Coral Gables (I swear that’s where the Golden Girls lived) Marc Anthony has a home that is impressively laid back and classic, despite being a behemoth of a home. The muted grays and people-friendly furniture make you forget that you have to take multiple corridors to get to the 12 bedrooms.  Let’s take a look. 16,989 square feet, 12 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms Asking: $27,000,000 The post Marc Anthony selling enchanting Florida Mansions appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.
