‘ALF’ star Max Wright dead at 75

Recent talk about an ALF reboot has possibly had actor Max Wright on your mind at least once in the last year, but sad news will bring him into media talk again.  After a rather long battle with cancer, the actor died Wednesday at his home in Hermosa Beach, Ca.

Relatives told TMZ that Wright passed away in his Hermosa Beach, Calif., home just outside of Los Angeles.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 but had been in remission for a long time, the outlet reported.

The TV star portrayed dad Willie Tanner on the NBC sitcom about a friendly alien named ALF who crash-lands into the garage of a suburban middle-class family. It ran for four seasons between 1986 and 1990.

He was also known for acting in shows like “Cheers,” “Buffalo Bill” and “Norm.”

Wright is survived by two children. His wife, Linda Ybarrondo, passed away in 2017 from breast cancer.
