Retired tennis star Pete Sampras and his wife, actress-singer Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, have sold their home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles for $7.25 million. And they sold it to Matt Bellamy. Muse frontman and ex hubby of Kate Hudson.
The gated estate on more than half a wooded acre had been listed at $7.9 million at the time of the sale. The couple bought the home in 2009 for $5.9 million, public records show.
Renovated and expanded during seven years of ownership, the traditional-style house has a library, a theater room and a wine cellar in 6,900 square feet of living space. There are upper and lower master suites, for a total of six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

Always fun to drop in on our favorite fame whores to see what they’re up to and how our lives measure up to theirs. Today we’re going to see how these lovers spent their Hallmark holiday, courtesy of culling far too many instagram accounts.
If you’re unfamiliar with Grey Gardens, the iconic 1975 documentary, I can not recommend it more. A sort of fly on the wall look at an intensely reclusive mother and daughter living in their East Hampton mansion. And they’re cousins of Jackie O, to boot.
As those who have seen the film know, the home was in terrible disrepair and was home to several dozen cats and various varmints. Mother and daughter (Big Edie and Lil Edie Bouvier, respectively) soon realized they were unable to care for the home and in 1979, they sold the home to Sally Quinn and Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee. In the purchase agreement, the new owners were forbidden to raise the home, only restore it.
Town and Country reports:
Bradlee once reported finding 52 dead cats in the home after purchasing it, along with fixtures that were so rotted “you’d go into the living room, touch the wall, and it would move out 12 inches, as if it were on a hinge from the second floor.” Quinn recalled to the New York Times that, on an early walkthrough, she touched a key on a grand piano in the living room and it collapsed and fell through the floor.
Stop it. That last part did not happen. That’s from a cartoon. Good gravy.
Well here we are. Now the completely revised and renovated home can be yours!

Barack and Michelle Obama‘s post-presidency vacation was one for the books.
After the inauguration, the former president and first lady took a trip to Palm Springs with daughters Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, before heading to the British Virgin Islands without the girls.
The couple spent 10 days on a private island belonging to British billionaire and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, where Barack got to enjoy something he hadn’t done in eight years — water sports.
In a post on the Virgin website, Branson wrote that he invited the couple to the island for a “complete break” after Barack’s two presidential terms.
“One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived on Moskito Island was how, just before he became President, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii,” Branson wrote. “The new head of his security team turned to him and said: ‘This will be the last time you surf for eight years.’ ”
So, Barack, 55, took to the water, with Branson noting that the former president wanted to learn to kitesurf while he longed to take up foilboarding.
Could Tamron Hall join Kelly Ripa on “Live With Kelly”?
A spy spotted the former “Today” host discussing her career over lunch with Discovery’s Henry Schleiff at Michael’s.
“He was encouraging her to join Kelly,” a spy told us. “He said, ‘Throw your hat in the ring! Lighten things up.’?”
CAA co-founder Bill Haber popped by to greet Hall, who sported a bright red power suit. She still hosts “Deadline Crime” on Schleiff’s ID network, but hasn’t announced her next move.
Hall’s rep declined to comment.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is in the hospital recovering after having his third knee surgery in a year. The rapper-entrepreneur, 47, shared post-op photos of himself surrounded by his family on Instagram late Thursday.
“Just had my final knee surgery. They said I’d never run again. I SAID THE DEVIL IS A LIAR.!! 3 surgeries in one year! 3rd times a the charm!!!” he wrote in one of his Instagram posts. “#Rebirth don’t take the simple things in life for granted. Thank you to all the surgeons and docs and PTs. I THANK GOD FOR YALL! And #teamlove #ThankYou #GODISTHEGREATEST.”
Those who couldn’t make it to the hospital made sure to send gifts. French Montana had a beautiful bouquet of flowers put in Diddy’s room. “Flowers from my brother @frenchmontana love you baby bro,” he wrote in another post.
