Taylor Swift vs Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Selena Gomez Weighs In!

Everyone has something to say about it, especially Taylor Swift’s best friend.

Selena Gomez posted a few tweets in response to Kim Kardashian’s decision to release audio between Swift and Kanye West regarding “Famous” lyrics.

“There are more important things to talk about…” she tweeted.

“Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?”

“Truth is last thing we need right now is [sic] hate, in any form,” she added.

“This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh”

According to the Daily Mirror, a fan asked Gomez why she wasn’t using the hashtag, #blacklivesmatter.

“oh lol so that means if I hashtag something I save lives?” she responded.

“No -I could give two f***s about ‘sides’. You don’t know what I do.”

The audio reveals West running controversial lyrics about Swift by the singer herself.

“I mean it’s like a compliment,” West says over the phone.

“What I give a f*** about is just you as a person and as a friend, I want things that make you feel good I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.”

Swift then gave her approval.

“Go with whatever line you think is better,” she said.

“It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice!”

“I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song.”

After the audio was released, Swift released response via Instagram stating that West left out the lyric, “I made that bitch famous.”

“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” Swift asked.

“It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.

Swift wrapped up the statement by referencing the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where West crashed Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.

“I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”

Obama Tweets Katy Perry With #ROAR

katy perry barack obama

Is this real life? President Obama and Katy Perry had a lovely little twitter exchange last night during the MTV VMAs. Obama tweeted,

If you’re one of millions of young Americans w/out health insurance, you can get affordable coverage starting Oct. 1 http://OFA.BO/Healthcare

Which Katy then retweeted. Obama responded to that with,

Thanks for spreading the word. #ROAR MT @katyperry: RT @BarackObama: Get affordable coverage starting Oct. 1 http://OFA.BO/Healthcare

Damn, for better or worse, we’ve come a long way since the Reagan years. Never thought I’d see a President use social media so brilliantly.

Katy performed “Roar” last night at the show, right under the Brooklyn Bridge. I was underwhelmed, but I still love her dearly.

Want To Know How Much Celebs Get Paid Per Tweet?

kim kardashian with long bangs

Kim Kardashian is always tweeting about something inane. Sometimes she’ll try to tweet about a product without it being incredibly obvious that they’re asking her to. But it’s always obvious. Lohan has been doing her own product endorsement, although the company claims they are not paying her.

And yes, apparently some celebs get paid to tweet about companies and products — even the D-list celebs. The more followers/famous the celeb, the more money they can command per tweet. For example, Kim Kardashian can get (allegedly) around $20,000 per tweet. Frankie Muniz can only get $252. (Nelson Muntz laugh here.)

Curious about Snooki and Jared Leto‘s asking prices? Click to see (stats from Huffington Post).

Farrah Abraham, 810,336 followers. $390.

Lance Bass, 454,817 followers. $650.

Lisa Rinna, 214,324 followers. $975.

Marlon Wayans, 1,360,700 followers. $1,300.

Holly Madison, 1,269,924 followers. $2,600.

Mike Tyson, 3,777,960 followers. $3,250.

Ashley Benson, 1,861,986 followers. $5,200.

Bella Thorne, 3,347,726 followers. $6,500.

Sean Lowe, 508,492 followers. $6,500.

Stacy Keibler, 328,724 followers. $6,500.

Tia Mowry, 1,451,662 followers. $6,500.

Kendra Wilkinson, 2,225,149 followers. $7,800.

Kendall Jenner Responds To Angry Beans

kendall jenner instagram twitter

Kendall Jenner got slammed on twitter by Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain‘s kid, Frances Bean Cobain a few days and she responded on Facebook. Which is kind of…I mean why not respond on twitter? Angry Beans responded to Ms. Jenner’s stupid tweet “Just wish things could be easier sometimes mann” with two long tweets containing such wise nuggets as “There are kids on earth abandoned&homeless” and blah blah ending with “humans are so self involved.”

From Radar, via DListed:

i am aware that i am very privileged and blessed, and im thankful for that everyday, i know there are greater problems in the world. i pray for those people every night and give back as much as i can. so who are u to judge me?

However, and as DListed pointed out, the Facebook post has been deleted. If it was even there. What really annoys me is that Jenner keeps using “i” and “u” — it’s Facebook, you can spare the characters.

I mean this has to be one of the more boring “celebrity” twitter exchanges ever, right? Even the Jenny McCarthy/Amanda Bynes face-off was more interesting.

Jamie Lynn Spears Ominously Tweets About Justin Timberlake

jamie lynn spears with britney spears

Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of Britney, tweeted something vaguely ominous to Justin Timberlake — and then deleted it. She posted a photo of her, JT, and Brit Brit in a car, while alluding to knowing that his song “Cry Me A River” was written about her sister. Thankfully someone screencapped it before it was lost into the vortex of time. See for yourself:

She GETS IT, guys.

And of course something this juicy had to be deleted. This isn’t Amanda Bynes’ twitter. Little Spears deleted it and then tweeted this vague explanation for the JT shout out:

jamie lynn spears justin timberlake britney spears

Even though Miss Jamie Lynn is a celebrity and knew Mr. Timberlake at one point in time, this still feels like one of those awkward tweets where a fan tweets a celebrity and hopes that they’ll respond.

Anyway, Justin “You Know You Suck As An Actor, Right?” Timberlake is well over Britney at this point and now writes songs about his grandparents, or whatever.

Jared Leto Got A Tattoo For Twitter

jared leto twitter tattoo

Jared Leto told Twitter that when he hits 1 million twitter followers, he would get a tattoo. Well he did. And he did. He got this giant tattoo on his back. I’m still not convinced this isn’t a joke. But here it is. The photo was posted on his Instagram account and E Online picked up the story. When the hell did Twitter get this important?

He also seems to really want to show Zach Braff. On Monday he tweeted, “i will show you me showing zach my tat” What am I missing here? I know that they’re friends but do they have a…a tattoo thing?

I went to get more info on Jared Leto’s Twitter, but as of Tuesday night, 11PM, pacific coast time, it’s gone. Somehow we must persevere without Jared Leto’s Twitter account. Can we do it? Are we strong enough?

It will probably come back. Twitter accounts come and go; unfortunately that tattoo is pretty stuck on there.

Lena Dunham Talks About Lampanelli’s “N-Word Tweet”

Lena Dunham Talks About Lampanelli’s “N-Word Tweet”

lena dunham lisa lampanelliLisa Lampanelli started some controversy when she tweeted a photo of her with Lena Dunham with the caption, “Me with my nigga @LenaDunham of @HBOGirls – I love this beyotch!!” Understandably, it pissed off a lot of people. Lampanelli isn’t apologizing either.

Ms. Dunham has remained silent on the entire thing up until now. Which also pissed people off. Writer Shayla Pierce had a lot to say on the subject. She wrote about it on a few blogs and tweeted,

@LenaDunham has showed her true colors on this whole n-word debacle. Her silence speaks volumes. I don’t think I’ll be watching @girlsHBO anymore. And I say that with honest sadness … Lena advertises herself as a progressive but she’s chosen not to address the situation. She seems phony to me now.

(I’d guess the above statement was more than one Tweet.)

According to The Hollywood Reporter,

Dunham responded on Twitter, writing that she would never use the n-word and that Lampanelli’s tweet made her “supremely uncomfortable” but said she stayed silent because “twitter debates breed more twitter debates.”

Perhaps then realizing that’s not a very good response,

She added that “140 characters will never be enough for the kind of dialogue that will actually help us address issues of race and class,” and then commended Pierce for a “beautifully written piece,” apologizing for any discomfort she might have felt.

This seemed to be enough for Pierce who suddenly turned into a 14 year-old girl and responded with,

Thank you so much. And I do <3 you and your work. Thanks for addressing this *hugsies* @lenadunham.

What do you think of Lena’s tweets addressing the subject?
