Jemima Kirke Cut Her Hair and Undressed for StyleLikeU

The 31-year-old Girls star was filming the StyleLikeU’s video series, The What’s Underneath Project, when she discussed her seven-year marriage, admitting that she and ex husband Michael ‘couldn’t be more different’.

As part of the series, participants are asked to strip down to show that style is really about being comfortable in your own skin, and during the candid interview Jemima revealed the she real reason she cut her trademark long blond hair was because of troubles with Michael.

‘I cut my hair because I felt like my hair was really one of the only things that made me feel pretty,’ she explained. ‘I felt like my hair was my go-to trick. I really believed for a while that without it I would be boring.

‘I was having a terrible moment with my husband in our relationship and I was extremely hurt by him and extremely angry at him and so I was feeling self-destructive.’

Instead of doing something truly self-destructive, Jemima said she ended up just cutting her hair, and it was actually Michael who gave her an even shorter ‘do a couple weeks after their fight.

‘I said I wanted to go shorter and he said “I’ll do it” and he cut it. It was really nice,’ she added. ‘It was kind of romantic. It’s nice to have someone you love cut your hair.’

Ariel Winter: “I developed these boobs and butt & I started getting all this hate”

ariel-winter-boobs-and-butt-3

Ariel Winter recently opened up about her journey in front of the critical eyes of her haters, who, since she developed ‘boobs and butt’, started to attack her constantly:

Ariel Winter started out in Hollywood at just 11 years old. Naturally, as she got older, her body matured — and that, unfortunately, is where the Internet got ugly. “I was called every name in the book: fat, a slut, trashy, ugly,” she tells Stylish. But she’s not tolerating that talk anymore. She’s fighting back — and educating young girls in the process.

Right after I started developing, I automatically started getting all this hate. I developed these boobs and butt, and everything changed,” the Modern Family actress, 18, tells Stylish. “And as I got older, it only seemed to get worse.”

That’s why she decided to partner with Dove on its 12-year-old confidence campaign, the Self Esteem Project, which aims to inspire girls through research, education and understanding of their bodies. “What I think is really amazing about it is that we’re empowering young women to love themselves, to be comfortable with themselves,” she says. “And it’s not just about [liking] what they look like, but loving who they are.”

The Sofia the First star notes that 62 percent of young girls don’t know how to use the Internet to get the information that could help them understand that when it comes to bodies, each one is unique, and there’s no such thing as “right” or “wrong.” “We’re teaching them … so we can change the scape, so they don’t have to grow up the way I did,” Winter explains.

“I read a lot of the stories young women will send me about their body positivity and their body journeys, and that really helps me,” she says. “There are a lot of young women who are going through the same thing that I went through, and I think it’s important that we all empower each other. It makes it easier.”

Priyanka Chopra’s Ideal Body: “Curvaceous but not super-skinny but at the same time I want to be lean”

priyanka2

On her eating habits:

“All of us are super busy. Life is just really fast-paced and you don’t have to kill yourself in the gym. You don’t have to starve yourself. I love having my pizzas and burgers and buffalo wings, on the side, for sure. But I like staying fit as well.”

On how she stays healthy:

“I have to stay super active and agile because I do my own stunts. I do all my fights myself. I trust my body and my instincts. People always say you should listen to your body. But I don’t listen to my body. My body listens to me. I can’t afford to be sick or low on energy. It’s mind over matter: I’m going to have a good day, and not in that fake ‘Happy girls are the best girls!’ way. Identify the weaknesses, shut them in a box, find your strengths, and run with them.”

On her ideal body:

“Curvaceous but not super-skinny but at the same time I want to be lean. So I try and eat healthy whenever I can.”

On her big break in Hollywood:

“It’s been a huge struggle for me to be able to come into mainstream entertainment in America and actually break the mold of what a Bollywood actress should be. Success is always about what’s next. I don’t settle and I don’t stop.”

… says Priyanka in Women’s Health Magazine.

On being the hot girls in DNCE’s music video:

“I didn’t think the video would have the impact it did. I just thought it was going to be cute. But the comments have been so positive. These girls are like, ‘OMG, thanks for putting “real women” in a music video.’ I don’t believe in that term, but, you know, bravo to DNCE for stepping out of the box and really taking it there by having a girl who typically isn’t represented.”

On her body:

“You know what’s so funny? I think women think I’m inspirational because I’m unapologetic. I have cellulite. I have back fat. I’ve got a thick stomach. But I work my body like I don’t because I don’t know any other body. I don’t know how to feel thin. I just know how to feel like Ashley.”

On how muscly guys love bigger girls:

“Those were muscle guys, and those are the types of guys you don’t think like curvy women, but they love them. Girls my size are like, ‘Oh, I could never get a guy like that.’ Actually, you could, girlfriend! I’m living proof that you can have whatever you want in spite of what people say is a ‘flaw.’ Whether it’s a race thing or not being smart enough or pretty enough—there are so many things that are hanging over women’s heads, but you have to fight through it.”

On the fact that there’s no such thing as the Perfect Body:

“I’ve been a size 12, and I thought I was so hot. But now I’m a 14 to 16, and I honestly couldn’t be happier—I’m just content. Of course, I look at my body and think ‘Oh, I want to tighten up my arms a bit, or I wish my ass was lifted higher.’ But nobody has the perfect body. There’s no such thing.”

… says Ashley.

More of her Elle spread next!

Selena Gomez Breaks Down in Concert, on Instagram: I Need to Rethink My Life!

Selena Gomez was on the verge of tears in concert, then broke down on Instagram this weekend, leaving fans worried for the singer.

Labeling herself as inauthentic and disconnected (she said “unauthentic” and “unconnected,” but same thing), she’s clearly a hard time.

That much is obvious … what we don’t know is what prompted it.

The star kicked off the international part of her Revival world tour Saturday night in Jakarta, Indonesia, just one day after turning 24.

She appeared to be having a blast with her friends as they all arrived in the country, looking giggly and excited to see everyone on Snapchat.

“I’m very, very happy and excited,” she said in one video.

The singer also noted that “everybody here is so nice.”

Something beneath the facade is amiss though.

Just before performing her hit song “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” to end the show, Gomez got emotional as she addressed the raucous crowd:

Selena Gomez Breaks Down in Concert

“The next song,” she told the Selenators, “before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me, because I get really frustrated.”

“I get stupid sometimes,” the singer said. “I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong, just because I care so badly.”

Was this an allusion to how so many people online slammed Gomez for defending Taylor Swift in her ongoing beef with Kimye?

Selena quoted from her song as she said, fighting back tears:

“Truth is the last thing we need right now is hate, in any form. But the thing is, at the end of the day, no war in anger was ever won.”

It’s not clear where she was going with that, but she went on:

“I do know that deep down in my heart, that I have to believe that we can love each other and always be kind, no matter what it takes.

“I believe that we can do that, no matter what.”

That emotional plea might have been the end of it, but things took a more worrisome turn when Gomez posted a note on Insta later that night:

“Tonight I felt extremely unauthentic, unconnected to both myself and my music,” she posted, as you can see from the screen shot above.

“I’ve never really felt like my materials, wardrobe or a video could define me. I act on a moment and fear that something hasn’t happened.”

“I’m stagnant, I stay still and don’t just sit with myself first and ask ‘Is this where I am, whole heartedly?’ I’ve always told the truth.”

“I’m always true to my word, I’ve shown who I am but I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally.”

Selena captioned the image, “not being negative about anything I’ve done. I’m grateful for every single moment I get here.”

“Indonesia you were LOUD and clearly inspiring. Love you so much”

Again, we don’t know what prompted any of these surprising revelations, but it’s undeniable that something got in her head.

This would not be the first time Selena’s fragile mental state has been a cause for concern, but it’s worrisome nevertheless.

Here’s hoping she finds whatever it is that she’s looking for.

Calvin Harris believes Taylor Swift started up with Tom Hiddleston in February

FFN_Swift_Harris_GG_052615_51755318

This weekend, The Sun had an interesting and insider-y story on Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris. Think back for a moment to the glory days of early June. When Taylor and Calvin first split up, most of us gossip-watchers knew that there be would drama, because Tay and Calvin are equally petty and juvenile. But back then, did we know that it would get THIS bad? Did we know that Calvin and Taylor’s teams would be sniping back and forth at each other over whether Taylor cheated, etc? I don’t think anyone could have predicted this. The gist of this Sun piece is that Team Calvin says Taylor was likely screwing around with Tom for months before they went public. Team Taylor says Calvin was a sh—ty boyfriend anyway, so what does any of it matter?

Before a flame war starts flaming, let me just say that I think both sides (Team Calvin and Team Swifty) were well-represented in this piece, meaning that both Calvin and Taylor’s PR people and friends are engaging a thorough tit-for-tat. It’s not a case of “poor Taylor, Calvin is being so mean!” Nor is it “poor Calvin, Taylor is so powerful!” They’re both fighting. They both care. They both have an axe to grind. I do think the fact that Calvin didn’t come to the Grammys with Taylor was the beginning of the end for their relationship. I also think that there was overlap between the “the end of Calvin and Taylor” and “the beginning of Tiddles.” And as I keep saying… Calvin and Taylor are so well-matched, it really is a shame they couldn’t make it work.

Tara Reid & Jenny McCarthy got into a messy fight on Jenny’s SiriusXM show

wenn23803956

The interview began with McCarthy, 43, complementing Reid on her latest reality show appearance in Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

“I f—ing love you on that show, but are you glad you did it?” the host asked.

“It’s not worth the time to talk about,” Reid replied. “There’s confusing things about it. We are not talking about it.”

McCarthy then made a remark about how she just loved the show “so much,” to which Reid continued to say, “Babe, I asked you, please let’s not talk about this show. We’re all here about Sharknado.”

The host then shifted to the film and asked Reid if she had to get into peak physical shape for it.

“It’s not like you really need to get into shape,” she replied. “It’s Sharknado. They’re fake sharks.”

McCarthy then brought up the topic of Reid’s past surgeries and asked if she was still going under the knife.

“No, I haven’t had any surgery for awhile, Jenny,” she replied before going silent on the microphone and talking to someone out of earshot.

“You look great now. So, you’re good and done, not moving forward with plastic surgery?” McCarthy continued to ask.

“I think I’ve made that clear about 100 times,” Reid snapped back. “Maybe you only read the bad things, but I’ve made that really clear for so many years. Read what you want to read… It was really nice talking to you and really good luck with your show.”

“Good luck to you, too, and I’m so excited about Sharknado and I hope you stay married,” McCarthy calmly quipped back. “I hope your knees get a little wobblier than they already are.”

“I hope you stay married too. I’m sure he’s a nice guy,” Reid responded. “I hope your tits get even nicer, because they’re amazing. The same guy who did mine, right? I’ll always use your advice. You’re the best. Bye.”

“Love you, Tara. Good luck with Sharknado 18,” McCarthy replied.

Tara Reid cops quite an attitude for someone currently promoting Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (that’s seriously the name of it) and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. And Jenny cops quite an attitude about Tara’s plastic surgery considering Jenny is trying to remake herself into Anti-Vaxx Barbie. No one is the winner here, but it’s always fun when two terrible people get into a bitchy war of words. Bless them.
