Plus-Size Model Rosie Mercado Received Death Threats for Losing 240 lbs

The full story from Daily Mail: Plus-size model Rosie Mercado who shed 240lbs said she was targeted by ‘fat activists’ who told her to kill herself after her dramatic weight loss. The mother-of-three from Las Vegas said she does not ‘miss anything’ about being 410lbs but that she has received hate mail directed at her transformed body. The 36-year-old, who used to be a size 34 and is now a 12/14, was told to ‘jump off a bridge and kill myself’ by people who objected to her weight loss, she claimed in an interview with TMZ. ‘I got hate mail…Not so much from the other models, just fans that hated on me. They told me to go jump off a bridge and kill myself for losing weight. Fat activists, there you go. Yeah fat activists, they just hated the thought I was really public about my weight loss and I was losing weight,’ she said. While Rosie, who now weighs 170lbs, ‘loves’ her slimmer physique and the ‘freedom’ it has given her, she said some people reacted negatively to it. She said: ‘Because I guess everybody loves to be happy in their own weight. Some people love being overweight, some people don’t. I think it’s a personal choice and you’ve just got to take it, there’s good and bad that comes with any life choice and changes so you know what? You’ve just got to let it go and not pay attention to the negative remarks.’ Rosie said her critics did not like her being ‘authentic and open’ about the changes to her body and her subsequent tummy tuck and skin removal. Despite losing almost half her former body weight she said she is still plus-size, adding: ‘I love it.’ #Repost @healthyisthenewskinny with @repostapp ・・・ @rosiemercado, #girlgang member and model with @naturalmodelsla, was featured in @lifeandstyleweekly in our original HNS tank! Model Daisy Lowe: “I have been unable to get out of bed because I have felt so insecure”

On her insecurities and her fluctuating weight: ‘Every day we’re shown images about the perfect body and what it should be – but we just have the ones that we live in. I think feeling insecure can be completely crippling. I have had times in my life when I have been unable to get out of bed because I have felt so insecure. But I think the most important lesson I’ve learned is that you have only one body, so you might as well enjoy it. My weight yo-yos so much. It always has. Kim Kardashian’s diet excludes sugar, sweets, cakes, crackers & white rice

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian out and about on Friday in LA. This feels like the first time we’ve seen her in months without a long, butt-covering jacket or coat. That’s probably because she’s now lost so much of the pregnancy weight that she’s not afraid of photographers getting a few butt shots. While I respect her choice to not give the paps butt shots when she’s uncomfortable with her body, she’s got to know that she’s just driving up the price, right? Anyway, as Kim told us last week, she’s lost 42 pounds of the 70-pound weight loss goal she set for herself post-pregnancy. I think she looks good, as-is. Meaning, she looks comfortable at this weight and this is pretty much how she looked when she got pregnant with Saint West. But she still wants to lose more weight, and her nutritionist spoke to Glamour about Kim’s diet: Kim’s nutritionist, Colette Heimowitz, VP of nutrition and education at Atkins Nutritionals, chatted up Redbook and spilled. Kim, who’s losing about two pounds a week, is sticking to 1,800 calories a day—just right for a breastfeeding mama—says Heimowitz, and she chooses those calories carefully: Every meal includes protein, which she pairs with high-fiber foods (we love barley!) and healthy fats (olive oil, avocados). What she’s not eating: “Sugar, sweets, cakes, crackers, white flour, white rice.” One thing she’s not giving up? Cheese—just a little bit. Heimowitz told Redbook that Kim’s daily diet breaks down to: “four to six ounces of protein, four ounces of cheese, eight to 10 servings of veggies, and two tablespoons of added fat.” (“Added” fat doesn’t include the fat that’s already in the protein and cheese.) “The secret is [to] pick high-fiber carbohydrates that slow the release of sugar into the bloodstream,” Heimowitz told the mag. “[So] instead of white rice you have a little brown rice. Instead of a white potato you could have a yam. And [when you want] dessert, you can make one with Splenda instead of sugar.” [From Glamour] Atkins diets are always high in protein, as I think everyone knows by now, so it’s not a surprise that Kim includes protein in every meal. I feel like this cheese-specific diet was tailored for her though, which one would expect if one has an on-call nutritionist. Personally, I would rather give up cheese (gladly) for a baked potato every now and then. Besides that, I don’t really believe Kim has given up sugar, sweets, cakes, crackers, white flour and white rice. I think that’s what her nutritionist has told her to give up and Kim sneaks some cracked or a cupcake every so often. Like at a baby shower she hosted for Chrissy Teigen? Apparently, the baby shower food involved McDonalds and nachos. ❤️ A photo posted by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on Mar 26, 2016 at 5:53pm PDT Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.

Kim Kardashian: "Overwhelmed" By Baby Weight Obsession?

This might explain the Twitter outbursts. I dare you to find a mom who has just given birth in the past six months who isn’t a little fragile or self-conscious about losing her “baby weight.” So, it’s understandable that Kim Kardashian could possibly be fed up with the pressure she’s under to keep calm and act like she didn’t give birth in December. Sources close to the reality star tell Radar Online that she’s “overwhelmed” by the weight she’s tryin to lose, and her “hormones are all over the place.” The source also claimed that Kardashian is “in really bad shape and sometimes has to be dragged out of bed.  “She’ll burst into tears over nothing and then lash out and storm off to her bedroom, where she’ll stay for hours.” Kris Jenner has told Kanye West that Kardashian “could have some kind of post-natal depression,” which, according to postpartumprogress.org, affects 10-15% of women annually.  The source alleges that Kourtney Kardashian thinks her younger sister is “Just depressed over her body shape and insecure over Kylie stealing all the limelight these days.” Tough love, brought to you by Kourtney Kardashian. On March 7th, Kardashian posting an old selfie of herself fully nude (save for bar blocking out her privates), letting fans know after that the photo was an old one. “I’m flattered some of u guys thought my post earlier was a recent pic!” she wrote “That was my blonde moment a year ago & 25lbs less! #MondayMotivation.” View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian: 11 Invaluable Life Lessons She Taught Us

Jennifer Lawrence: ‘The most damaging term we have’ is ‘post-feminist era’

Embed from Getty Images Here are some photos of Jennifer Lawrence at two pre-Oscar events in the past two days. As I keep saying, J-Law has been really good about not oversaturating the media with photos and interviews in the past few months. She was everywhere last year, and after she got her fourth Oscar nomination, she proceeded to not campaign for it at all. But she’s still J-Law, and she’s still the biggest star of her generation, and she’s still one of the biggest deals in Hollywood, so that’s why she came out for some events for Oscar weekend. First, the fashion. For last night’s Women In Film pre-Oscar cocktail party, Jennifer wore this absolutely awful Dior ensemble – the white jacket over what looks like an enlarged black fishnet dress. This should totally be considered a preview of things to come, because I’m sure she’s contractually obligated to wear Dior at the Oscars. And it might be bad. I think Dior is making gowns especially for J-Law, so maybe it won’t be THIS bad. I’m also including photos of Jennifer at that Dinner for Equality event two nights ago. She decided to forgo the Dior and went with Naeem Khan velvet pants and an embellished top. I would have enjoyed this more if the embellished top was a full-on dress. At the Dinner for Equality event, J-Law made some prepared remarks around pay equality (the event was co-hosted by Patricia Arquette, whose comments you can read here). J-Law said, in part: “It’s weird being a public figure talking about all of this stuff because you put a target on your nose. When I wrote that essay I got a lot of support but I also have a Republican family in Kentucky who told me my career was effectively over.” Lawrence said it’s vital to shed the notion that we live in a post-feminist era. “I don’t know who came up with that term, but it’s the most damaging term that we have, because it’s just not true.” [Via Variety] For what it’s worth, the Dinner for Equality event seemed like a very substantive discussion. At the Dinner for Equality event, they had feminist male allies from major studios talking about the importance on internal audits within studios to insure that women are being paid fairly and equally to their male counterparts. J-Law also said some words at the WIF event about pay equality: Embed from Getty Images Embed from Getty Images Embed from Getty Images Photos courtesy of Getty.
