Janet Jackson back in the states with Newborn

Janet Jackson touched down in New York Monday morning with her 6-month-old son, Eissa, and the little guy is one heck of a cute baby! It’s Eissa’s first trip to the U.S. that we know of. The kid, whose dad is Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, was born in London back in January and has been there as his parents hash out their divorce. Wissam moved out of the couple’s London pad in April, but no word yet on custody and where little Eissa will have permanent roots. Molly Sims: “With my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining 85 lbs.”

The full story on Molly’s pregnancy weight gain from People: “No one tells you what’s going to happen,” Sims says to a group of celebrity moms, including Haylie Duff, Garcelle Beauvais and Soleil Moon Frye, who got together for PEOPLE’s Mom Talk video series, which is now live on PEOPLE/Entertainment Weekly Network. “With my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining 85 lbs. and had a bad thyroid problem that no one diagnosed throughout the whole pregnancy until four months later,” Sims, who is pregnant with her third child, adds. Sims, 43, who is already mom to Scarlett May, 17 months, and Brooks Alan, 4, says that during her pregnancy she had false hopes that the weight would just fall off after she gave birth. “Sometimes, deep down, when you’re eating that Sweet Lady Jane on the 405, you think, ‘It’ll come off when I have the baby,’ ” she says. “There’s also a lot of pressure to bounce back,” Beauvais, 48, adds. “You know who I love is Drew Barrymore! She says, ‘It took me nine months to have ’em, I don’t care how long it takes me to get it off.’ ” See more of Molly next! Katy Perry’s Parents Want You to Pray for Their Daughter

Katy Perry is one of the most successful female artists on the planet. She’s managed to stay relevant ever since the release of her hit single, “I Kissed A Girl” way back in 2008.  Her parents, Keith and Mary Hudson are deeply religious and recently lifted the lid on how they really felt about their daughter.  They revealed crazy information about the family across two packed services at the Church of Grace in Yorba Linda, California on July 17 and 18.  It isn’t news that the both Keith and Mary have been embarrassed by their daughter’s past. You only need to look at some of her music videos to find out why.  They even chimed in on her feud with Taylor Swift. “Don’t judge her, pray for her,” they implored. Okay then.  Her mother also addressed Perry’s new single, “Rise.”  “She [Katy] released a new song called ‘Rise.’ It says, ‘My feet have been put to the fire but I will rise.’ That’s what she’s about right now.” Could this mean that the singer’s new material will be less racy than past efforts?  Keith noted that he recently spoke to Perry and even talked about the lyrics of the track.  “If you listen to this new song you know it ain’t over yet. She talks about some things. She’s good.” “I want you to pray for my daughter,” he added. “Don’t judge her, pray for her. She’s going to be singing Rise for the Olympics this year. We’re very proud of it and her.” It all sounds pretty bizarre.  At least we know that they like the new song more than her first big hit. “We certainly like it more than ‘I Kissed A Girl,'” he said of her new music. “When ‘I Kissed A Girl’ came out we thought about moving to Venezuela because of the shame.” Perry’s mom added: “We were going to save [former Venezuelan President who died in 2013] Hugo Chavez but it’s too late for that now.” Keith took things one step further and commented on his days in the 1960s, taking drugs.  “I looked like John the Baptist coming out of the woods but I wasn’t eating locusts, baby. My candy was LSD! I was taking it like candy.” Did anyone expect anything like this to come out? It came pretty much out of the left field.  Basically, they wanted to let us know that there was time they were ashamed of their daughter, but not now.  What do you think about it all? Blake Lively in Emanuel Ungaro in NY: the best look of her ‘Cafe Society’ tour?

Even though I think some of these straps are unnecessary, this dress might be my favorite from Blake Lively’s promotional fashion show. Blake saved the best for last! Maybe. Blake was spotted out in NYC on Friday wearing this Emanuel Ungaro dress. So much prettier than her premiere minidress, right? This should have been the premiere dress. And if Blake has been trying to start a trend during this pregnancy, it’s with under-boob cutouts on maternity clothes. I don’t really get why that’s a thing, but here we are. Meanwhile, Blake appeared on the Tonight Show on Friday to promote Café Society. In this clip, Blake tells Jimmy Fallon that baby James calls Jimmy “dada,” and she has the video proof. In this clip, Blake tells other stories about baby James. James points out when anyone – man or woman – has a belly and says “baby!” James also has a little lisp so for “stand” she says “shtand” and for “sit” she says “sh-t.” Blake also made a joke: “It should be illegal to be pregnant in New York in July. I swear, I’m going to make my water break just so I can cool down.” And there you go. Incidentally, I read Vogue’s review of Café Society, and I came away pretty disturbed about the film and Woody Allen in general. Vogue says that Blake and Kristen Stewart are set up as woman/girl archetypes, as in Blake is playing the womanly bombshell that Jesse Eisenberg has to “settle” for despite the fact that he’s in love with the girlish, Lolita-esque character played by Kristen Stewart. Jesus, that’s so gross. Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.

Variety critic writes about Renee Zellweger’s face & now everybody’s mad

Last week, the second full-length trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby dropped. I didn’t cover it because A) I didn’t think people would care and B) I found the second trailer even more depressing than the first trailer. While I am excited to see Renee Zellweger return to a celebrated and beloved role, as I see more of the plot, my excitement dies a little bit. I just think baby-daddy hijinks for a woman in her mid-to-late 40s is a bit much, honestly. Out of all the plot lines, they chose that? I understand that they’re basing it off Helen Fielding’s columns, but maybe they shouldn’t have waited so many years to make this one? Here’s the second trailer: So, yes, I have some complaints. At the heart of those complaints is just plain old disappointment though: the first Bridget Jones movie is as close to perfect as possible. It is arguably one of the greatest romantic comedies of all time. Renee was so good in it that she got an Oscar nom! But 15 years later, we’re getting this mess. And when one critic – Variety’s Owen Gleiberman – expressed his disappointment, he got into a world of trouble. Gleiberman wrote a piece called “Renee Zellweger: If She No Longer Looks Like Herself, Has She Become a Different Actress?” You can read the piece here. It’s supposed to be a “think-piece” about how Zellweger has changed her face so drastically that she’s no longer believable as Bridget Jones, and this guy is personally offended by that. He goes on at length about the pressures of society, and how Zellweger used to be pretty in a normal, believable, girl-next-door sort of way but now she doesn’t look like herself because of her very noticeable plastic surgery and he just goes on and on about it. So, obviously, Owen Gleiberman got slammed all over the place for being sexist and ageist. If we’re saying that this dude never would have written a long-winded, body-policing think-piece about how Russell Crowe is no longer believable as a leading man because of how HE looks and how HE is ageing, I can see that point, and I agree with it. That is sexist and ageist if we’re just going to go on and on about only the actresses. But… I also think that Gleiberman had a (albeit minor) point? If actors and actresses want to drastically change their looks through plastic surgery, so be it. Live and let live, and your body, your choice. But of course people are going to comment. And some of us even made similar comments when we first saw the set photos of Renee-as-Bridget, that “she doesn’t even look like Bridget” and “why does she look so different?” Of course none of us wrote long-winded hot-take think-pieces for Variety analyzing all of the many ways in which her face disappoints us personally. Why is it odd for Renée Zellweger to look slightly different than she did 15 years ago, but not odd for Kate Beckinsale to look identical? — Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint) July 2, 2016 @Variety It's called aging, any by the way, everyone is doing it. We aren't helping women become stronger by pointing out their ages… — Trevor Jordan (@VampirePangs) July 1, 2016 Dear @Variety and @OwenGleiberman .. What a load of sexist GARBAGE.
