Rihanna welcomed her first daughter, Rocki Irish Mayers, on Sept. 13th

During Rihanna’s first pregnancy, I remember how her fans were absolutely convinced that she was expecting a girl. It felt certain for everyone: of course Rihanna was going to have a daughter, it was obvious. Then she gave birth to RZA in 2022, her first son. Her second son, Riot, followed in 2023. Rihanna was a boy mom after all, and she completely adores her two sons. But she and ASAP Rocky decided that they weren’t done with RZA and Riot. No, they still wanted to go for the girl. Well, it happened! Rihanna welcomed her daughter Rocki Irish Mayers on September 13th.

I’m so happy for Rihanna, Rocky and Rocki. I actually love it when daughters are named after their fathers – Serena Williams did something similar when naming her first daughter (Olympia’s first name is Alexis, her father’s name). That being said, ASAP Rocky’s real name is Rakim Mayers. Does Rihanna call him Rakim though? I’m pretty sure she calls him Rocky. Well, now she has two! My question: do you think Rihanna will stop having babies now that she has her much longed-for daughter?

Babies Births Duke of Westminster

Hugh Grosvenor & Olivia Henson welcomed their first child, a girl named Cosima

Last year, one of Britain’s social events of the decade took place in Chester, England. Hugh Grosvenor, aka the Duke of Westminster, married Olivia Henson. They laid out their best plywood and the bride wore a satin dress. Prince William was there. William’s wife did not attend, and neither did William’s brother (although Harry was invited). The wedding storyline was months of gossip, fueled mostly by William and his team. At the end of the day, I don’t think Hugh and Olivia actually wanted to be part of any kind of royal/gossip storyline. The whole thing was rather gauche if you ask me! Anyway, Hugh and Olivia immediately got down to business, the business of having babies and hoping to get a male heir. Well… they welcomed their first child, and it’s a girl!

Congratulations are in order as Hugh Grosvenor,The Duke of Westminster, and his wife, Olivia Henson, have announced the birth of their first child, a baby girl.

Hugh Grosvenor – who is the 7th Duke of Westminster, having inherited his late father’s fortune of around £9.5bn in 2016, and married the Duchess in a glittering ceremony last June – welcomed Cosima Florence Grosvenor on Sunday.

In an official statement released on Sunday, 27 July, the new parents said: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter. They have named her Cosima Florence Grosvenor, who was born in London today, 27 July.’

‘Both the Duchess and Cosima are doing well. The Duke and Duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family,’ the statement finished.

The newly-weds are expected to be over the moon with the new arrival, having expressed their ‘delight’ to be starting a family together when announcing news of their pregnancy. At the time, the full statement read: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are very pleased to share that the Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together.’

[From Tatler]

Hugh has three sisters – two older, one younger. So his parents had two daughters first, but they kept trying for the male heir, and there you go. I feel sorry for Olivia that she’s going to have to keep having babies until they get the heir, but that’s literally the whole point of Britain’s primogeniture system. Still, they don’t sound mad about it – little Cosima will be loved and adored by her parents, and I’m sure Hugh’s sisters are thrilled about having a niece to spoil.

Also: there are already conversations about who will be chosen as Cosima’s godparents, and whether Prince William would be selected as godfather. Just my opinion, but I think they’ll wait to ask William to be godfather when they get a son. Right? That’s what happened with Hugh – King Charles is Hugh’s godfather, and Charles isn’t godfather to any of Hugh’s sisters. Now, Princess Diana was godmother to one of Hugh’s sisters. So maybe Kate will be asked to be Cosima’s godmother? Probably not – I don’t think Kate has been asked to be any kid’s godmother?

Allison Williams: giving birth by emergency C-section was a huge trauma

Allison Williams and American Horror Story: Coven actor Alexander Dreymon have been together since late 2019. They started dating around six months after Allison’s split from her first husband, Ricky Van Veen. In past interviews, they’ve said that they were a new couple during the pandemic. In 2021, they welcomed their first son, Arlo. Allison just appeared on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, where she talked about her experience giving birth to Arlo. Like so many women, Allison had a birth plan that didn’t go quite as expected. For so long, she had planned on having a natural birth. However, after spending more than a day in labor, in which Arlo’s heart rate kept dropping, Allison ended up needing a C-section. On the pod, she talked about how traumatizing the entire experience was.

Allison Williams is candidly opening up about her birthing experience.

The M3GAN actress, 37, opened up about her “very stressful” labor and delivery experience during the latest episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Williams, who welcomed her son Arlo, 3, with actor Alexander Dreymon, told host Amanda Hirsch that she had to have an emergency C-section after being in labor for 36 hours, adding that it was a “very stressful thing.”

“From the moment I arrived, pre-epidural, every time I had a contraction… his heart rate would go down,” she recalled. When asked about how she felt in that moment, the proud mom said, “Huge trauma. Deeply stressful. I realized in that moment that I hadn’t thought about the possibility of having a C-section.”

“I hadn’t pictured it, wondered what it was like. I kind of was like, blah blah blah blah blah. I’ve never had surgery. I don’t wanna think about this. And so I didn’t,” she continued. “And then there I was being told that this had to happen. And that was just like a profoundly scary moment where I realized like, ‘Oh my god. I’m about to have surgery for the first time. And this all just feels extremely scary and not what I was picturing.’ ”

The Fellow Travelers actress admitted that she would have liked to know more before entering her C-section, saying that in the moment, there was a lot to process.

“In the moment where she told me it was happening, I was processing a lot of things at the same time,” she told Hirsch. “One of those things would have been off the table, which was like, ‘What’s about to happen to me? What’s this gonna be like? What does this mean, etcetera?’ And if I knew the answers to some of those things, I would just be processing like, ‘This isn’t going the way I pictured it,’ or ‘I’m scared’ or ‘This is vulnerable.’ ”

“All of those other things, which is still a lot to deal with, just would have been nice to have, like, some of those things off,” she added.

[From People]

I’m so sorry for what Allison went through. That sounds so scary! I can completely understand how traumatic that was. I’m glad that her doctor was able to intervene and safely deliver Arlo. You can be as prepared as possible, with a birth plan and contingency plans, but nothing ever really prepares you for how it feels if something doesn’t go according to any of those plans. My bestie went through something similar, only with twins. One was “easily” delivered vaginally, but the other one ended up needing an emergency c-section. She was, and still is, very candid about just how traumatic the experience was and how extreme her emotions were during and in the *years* afterward. (They are nine now.) While on the subject, I also see so many moms on forums and Facebook groups that carry so much guilt if their birth plans don’t go as planned because society and social media makes them feel like there is something wrong with them. There is not! I really wish that there were better mental health services available for mothers and that there wasn’t a stigma around them needing them.

Babies Births Jason Kelce Kylie Kelce

Jason & Kylie Kelce welcomed their fourth daughter, she’s already on their podcasts

Congratulations to Kylie and Jason Kelce! After what probably felt like a lifetime for Kylie, baby girl #4 finally arrived on Sunday, March 30. Finnley Anne Kelce joins big sisters Wyatt, five, Elliotte, three, and Bennett, two. Her nickname will be Finn. Kylie and Jason announced the news in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, a two-day-old Finn made her podcast debut on her daddy and her Uncle Travis’s podcast, New Heights. Today (Thursday), Kylie, showing us once again that she is a badass, got back on the mic to announce that she’d booked a hot newcomer as this week’s guest: Finn! That’s right, Kylie had a kid on Sunday and was back to work to record on Tuesday. Just like New Heights, this week’s Not Gonna Lie pod also introduces us to Finn and shares Kylie’s birth and postpartum story.

Jason Kelce’s emotions are soaring to new heights after welcoming his fourth baby with wife Kylie Kelce. In fact, the Philadelphia Eagles alum couldn’t help but to marvel at his newborn daughter Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce’s adorable appearance, writing in the comments section of her birth announcement on Instagram April 1, “Does that first photo have a filter on it?”

In the picture, little Finn stared sweetly at the camera while wearing a pink and blue knitted hat, which perfectly matched swaddling blanket that she was wrapped in at the hospital.

Other snapshots posted include one of Finn in a floral onesie, as well as portraits of Kylie and Jason craddling their new baby girl.

“Whoop, there she is!” the couple—who also share daughters Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce, 5, Elliotte Ray Kelce, 3, and Bennett Llewellyn Kelce, 2—wrote in the caption along with her birth date. “3/30/25.”

[From E! Online]

It is crazy that Kylie did a podcast two days after giving birth. Girl, take some time to sleep and heal! On some level, it also doesn’t surprise me, though. Plus, she doesn’t have to leave her house, so I bet that helps too, lol. While I appreciate that she’s sharing her story with women in real time, I hope that Kylie takes a few weeks off for maternity leave. I also understand if she uses the podcast as her excuse to put on make-up, a nice shirt, and talk to grown-ups once a week. Even though she doesn’t need the money, if she’s doing this for mental health, then it’s important.

Anyway, let’s talk about Finn! She is adorable. IMO, she looks like Jason, but a baby’s look changes so much as they grow that she could be Kylie’s spitting image six months from now. I also think Finn is such a cute name! Kylie explains that 24-hours after she was born, they still hadn’t decided on a name. Finn’s name was a contender for Elliotte’s name, which I can relate to. Mr. Rosie and I each made lists of name choices for our younger son, but in the end, the only one we could agree on was the one that was #2 on our list for our older son’s name. Finn may not have gotten the double T treatment like her older sisters did, but it is spelled with two Ns. Given the story behind the name, I wonder if they were originally going to spell it with one N and only added the second one to keep with the theme. Welcome to the world, Finn!

Kylie Kelce to people who say c-sections aren’t childbirth: ‘you can f right off’

Embed from Getty Images

Kylie Kelce is in the final days of her pregnancy with baby girl #4. She starts this week’s episode of her podcast Not Gonna Lie by warning listeners that she could go into labor at any time and jokingly urges the baby to “get out.” Kylie has been very candid about pregnancy and parenthood. Since this week’s ep may very well be the last one she records before giving birth, Kylie decided to talk about one last pregnancy topic: birth plans.

As you know, women have to put up with a lot of sh-t in life, including judgment and unsolicited opinions. This week’s topic came about because Kylie saw women in TikTok comments sharing some of the offensive things they were told after giving birth via c-section. Well, Kylie, who gave birth vaginally the first three times, has some words for anyone out there poo-pooing women for their birth plans, especially if they opt for an epidural or a C-section. That message: GFY.

Kylie Kelce is not mincing words when it comes to critics of other moms’ birth plans. The pregnant mother of three, who is just days away from welcoming her fourth child with husband Jason Kelce, took a minute to get candid on the topic on the Thursday, March 27 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast.

While discussing her own birth plan, which she said included an epidural — “I just want a fat needle in my back,” she said — Kylie, 33, shut down critics of moms who opt for a medicated birth.

“People who dismiss birth with an epidural as being not a true birth experience, I can promise you from the bottom of my heart, I felt every part of labor,” she shared.

She also took a moment to call out those who claim that moms who have C-Sections “did not experience birth.”

“I’m trying to be nice,” Kylie began before adding, “No, never mind. Go f— yourself. You can kindly f— right off.”

She added, “The person you’re speaking to just grew a human being and for whatever reason that little baby needed to come out the front, not the bottom. You know whose business that is? Not f—— yours.”

“They just had massive abdominal surgery. Abdominal surgery to get out the human life that they just built. I can’t believe that people say that. That is horrific. I dare you to say that within earshot of me,” she continued.

While she acknowledged her stance was “aggressive,” she said she’s “standing by it.”

“I said what I said,” she added.

After previously sharing that she was a particularly large baby who was delivered via C-Section herself, Kylie quipped, “You think that when I was 12 pounds, one ounce and I had to come out the front in on my 5-foot-2 mother that she didn’t experience birth? I will kick your ass in honor of [my mother] Lisa.”

As for her own birth plan and labor essentials, the Philadelphia native noted that she has “such a short list.” Kylie said noting that she doesn’t listen to music during labor.

“I watch shows while we’re waiting for the baby to descend,” Kylie, who is mom to daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 2, explained. “I do what is advised by the medical staff in the hospital because I truly believe that labor and delivery nurses are angels that have descended from heaven and landed on Earth.”

[From People]

“The person you’re speaking to just grew a human…You know whose business that is? Not f—— yours.” Amazing. I love how Kylie is such a girl’s girl who stands up for what she believes in and isn’t afraid to tell someone to F off because they are wrong. Women supporting women, y’all. She’s right, though. A woman’s birth plan is between herself and her healthcare provider. There is no need to steamroll someone with your own opinions or get all judgy about someone else’s choices. The goal is safely delivering the baby. This also goes for other decisions, like breastfeeding. When it comes to these things, only give your opinion if you’re asked for it. And even then, listen and be respectful.

Also, I am so freaking impressed that Kylie is able to watch TV while she’s in labor. I got an epidural with my older son, but was too anxious to do anything other than marvel at how wonderful it felt, nervously play on my phone, and stare out the window as I waited for the Pitocin to do its thing. I wish I’d thought to bring a laptop and pop on Netflix. With my younger son, I was medically unable to get one because my platelets dropped suddenly. I’m pretty sure I left my body in between contractions, lol. Anyway, Kylie is a fantastic advocate for women. I love her and am so grateful that she’s out there, spreading the word and hopefully making a difference.

Princess Beatrice welcomed her second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose

Aw, this is some nice news. Princess Beatrice has welcomed her second child, and it’s another girl! Last fall, Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced that they were expecting again, and people were genuinely happy for them. We were reminded of Beatrice’s delicate condition over the holidays, when Beatrice apparently had to change her plans last minute and avoid flying to Italy – she and Edo ended up staying at Sandringham with the royal family, all while Prince Andrew and Fergie were apparently banned from Christmas in Norfolk. No one expected Beatrice to give birth this soon into the new year, but the palace is indicating that Beatrice gave birth “several weeks prematurely.” The baby girl is very small.

Princess Beatrice has given birth to a baby girl named Athena several weeks prematurely, Buckingham Palace has said.

The royal was due to give birth in early spring and was told in December not to travel long distances.

In a statement the palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12.57pm, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“The baby was born weighing four pounds and five ounces.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”

[From Sky News]

I’m so glad that mother and child are safe and in good condition. I hope Bea and Edo aren’t too stressed, and I hope Fergie is around, helping out. This goes a long way towards explaining Beatrice’s sudden reticence to fly to Italy – this was probably a risky pregnancy, and I totally believe her doctors strongly advised her not to fly and to stay close to a hospital in her third trimester.

Thoughts on the baby’s name? I was not expecting “Athena,” honestly. It’s a Greek name, and Prince Philip was technically a Greek prince. I wondered if there were any Athenas in Philip’s side of the family – none of his sisters were named Athena, and his mother’s name was Alice. Hm. The “Elizabeth Rose” is obvious enough, and I’m fine with those names as middle names. Oh, they released a photo!

Ashley Tisdale & Christopher French welcome their second child, daughter Emerson

Congratulations are in order for Ashley Tisdale and her husband, Christopher French! On Saturday, September 7, they welcomed their second daughter, Emerson Clover. Emerson joins big sister Jupiter Iris, who is three years old. Ashley announced the news on Saturday via an Instagram post that mirrored the announcement for her older daughter’s arrival. It was a black and white picture of Ashley, Christopher, and Iris holding Emerson’s hand. Awww!

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the High School Musical alum, 39, shared the happy news on Instagram that she has welcomed her second baby — a girl — with husband Christopher French. Sharing a close-up black-and-white photo of herself, French and their 3-year-old daughter, Jupiter, holding the newborn’s hand, Tisdale revealed her daughter’s name and announced that she was born on Friday, Sept. 6.

“Emerson Clover French, all three of us are obsessed with you,” the actress wrote in the post’s caption. “She landed 9.6.24 ????.”

In March, Tisdale announced that she and French, 42, were expecting their second baby together.

“We can’t wait to meet you ????,” she wrote in her Instagram caption at the time, as she shared snaps of the couple and her baby bump. Their daughter Jupiter also appeared in the carousel, while French wrote in the comments, “???? Here we goooo! I love you. We can do this lol.”

Tisdale and French have been married since 2014 and they welcomed Jupiter in March 2021. Although she said she couldn’t “wait to meet” the new addition to their family, Tisdale got candid about some of her fears ahead of welcoming another baby in a March TikTok video.

“I suffered with postpartum depression the first time and so that definitely scared me, thinking about, oh having another one, like, just going through that again,” the actress and singer said in part in the video, posted on the same day she announced her pregnancy.

“But my doctor said that it’s interesting that on the second, your hormones just adjust so much faster. It wasn’t so much that I was depressed, I just had a lot of anxiety,” she added.

As for her daughter, “I’m excited and Jupiter’s excited,” Tisdale said in the video. “She keeps telling everybody the big news, that she’s going to be a big sister.”

Just last month, Tisdale joked that she couldn’t “wait to get that baby out” in a post shared on her Instagram Stories about the past few weeks of her pregnancy with Emerson, explaining that she’d “been sick for three weeks” and felt “exhausted.”

“I’m exhausted. I’m ready to have this baby but not ready,” the actress said. “I still need to wallpaper the room, get everything organized, so don’t come yet! BUT I’ve been sick for three weeks with adenovirus that turned into a sinus infection. My whole body hurts and I literally can’t wait to get that baby out. I think they make the last month this hard so your willing to throw yourself into something that would normally be so scary but you do it anyway.”

[From People]

Congrats again to the Tisdale/French family. Ashley was so miserable during the last few months of her pregnancy. I hope it was an easy delivery with Emerson and that she’s feeling much better now! Those last few weeks and months can be so difficult. Hopefully, Ashley doesn’t have any issues with postpartum depression this time around. What her doctor said about having less of a chance of getting PPD after your second baby because your hormones adjust quicker is really interesting, actually. I had no idea that was a thing. I adjusted a lot quicker mentally and emotionally after my younger son was born, but I’ve always just chalked that up to feeling good about actually knowing what I was doing the second time around.

I really like the name Emerson, too. Jupiter and Emerson, I dig it. As for Clover as the middle name, my former mentor (who I’m still friendly with via social media) has a daughter with the middle name Clover, and was given that middle name because it had a special meaning behind it. I wonder if there is any special meaning behind Emerson Clover’s name. We chose our boys’ names very carefully, so I always love hearing about that kind of stuff.
