Cynthia Erivo FKA Twigs Jeff Goldblum Lewis Hamilton Met Gala Savannah James

Did Cynthia Erivo’s Givenchy kind of muddle the Met Gala theme?

Cynthia Erivo was one of the few people – if not the only person? – in Givenchy at the 2025 Met Gala. Black Dandyism, “superfine” tailoring… I thought Cynthia would nail the theme. I can’t say that she really did though. I feel like some fashionistas have this issue where they really overthink the theme, to the point where their look just seems sort of muddled?

I knew Lewis Hamilton would really bring it as one of this year’s Met Gala co-chairs and he did. I would even say that he was the best-dressed co-chair, honestly. Lewis wore Grace Wales Bonner, with some spectacular Briony Raymond jewelry. The suit is gorgeous, with fantastic detailing, but the jewelry really makes the look. Absolute perfection.

FKA Twigs wore Grace Wales Bonner as well. This was very flapper/Harlem Renaissance.

Jeff Goldblum was also in Wales Bonner. I said last night that he was the only white man who totally nailed the theme, and someone remarked that he probably had plenty of on-theme looks already in his closet. He 100% understood the assignment.

LeBron James was supposed to be the big-name Met Gala co-chair, but he has a significant knee injury and he ended up pulling out of the event at the last minute. His wife Savannah James went in his place – she wore Hanifa. It’s a bold look, but I’m kind of meh on it. It would have been amazing to see LeBron there.

Jeff Goldblum on being caught checking out his own red carpet pics: I’m busted

Last year, Jeff Goldblum made headlines when he was caught dancing on the JumboTron at the Super Bowl. He basically proved that he’s just like the rest of us, happy to ham it up for the cameras when the situation calls for it. Well, oops he did it again! Last week, Jeff went viral once more. This time, it was at the Oscars. Someone snapped a picture of Jeff checking out his own red carpet pictures as his wife, Emilie Livingston, looked on. The picture is very meta, lol. Naturally, someone from Entertainment Tonight asked Jeff about it as he was leaving the theatre after the awards were over. His response? “I’m busted!”

Jeff Goldblum is viral and he knows it. The beloved actor was the talk of the net during this year’s Oscars presentation, as, while Ben Stiller was busy tweeting from beneath the stage, Goldblum was spotted checking himself out in the audience.

Several photos taken of Goldblum in the audience showed him scrolling through his own red carpet photos, along with his wife’s closeups and even his Wicked co-star Ariana Grande’s. Naturally, his admiration quickly went viral online.

“this photo of jeff goldblum looking at his own red carpet pic at the oscars is sending me,” one person wrote on X, while another joked, “i was also checking out jeff goldblum’s red carpet pics while watching the oscars but no one seems to care about that.”

Entertainment Tonight caught up with the Jurassic Park star on his way out, bringing his viral moment to his attention when the reporter said, “Jeff, they caught you tonight.”

“Oh my gosh, look at that—let me see,” he said, taking off his glasses for a better look at the reporter’s phone’s screen as his wife, Emilie Livingston, explained, “No, in fact, we got to our seats an hour before, so what do you do when you try to kill time?”

“Oh, that’s funny,” Goldblum interjected. “Well, I’m busted—that’s it.”

“Everybody does it,” Livingston defended, as the interviewer agreed that he had been outside doing the same thing.

“Where are more pictures of me? That’s my question,” Goldblum added.

Fans further marveled over Goldblum’s unflappable attitude, with one replying to ET’s video, “Nothing, absolutely nothing can baffle Jeff Goldblum.”

LMAO. I mean, no lies detected anywhere here. First, everyone checks out pictures of themselves for one reason or another. I totally do it. I still sometimes look at a picture that I posted of myself from my birthday last month just to make sure I don’t regret it. Second, what else are you supposed to do when you’re super early to a big event that’s all over social media? Again, I’d totally check out what the Internet was saying about my co-stars and me. Jeff, still proving that he’s just like us. Third, why aren’t there more pictures of Jeff? That man is wearing a pretty awesome Prada suit ensemble and there should have been more attention paid to it. Justice for Jeff’s fashion! Finally, and this is just an aside, but Mr. Rosie and I watched Wicked again this weekend, this time with the kids, and I’m re-blown away at how great it was. I was a skeptic when the trailer came out last year, but I publicly repent. It’s just so freaking good.

Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande wore Schiaparelli & Ralph Lauren in London

Here are some photos from the big London premiere of Wicked last night. They made a much, much bigger deal of it in London than they did in New York. Which I still think is so weird. This whole time, I actually forgot that Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh are both in Wicked, so I’m adding photos of them, alongside Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey. I also genuinely forgot that the studios are trying to recreate Barbenheimer – Wicked and Gladiator II come out out this Thursday/Friday. My guess? Gladiator II will slay the competition.

How long can I vamp before we have to talk about the premiere fashion? Ugh. First of all, I don’t mind Ariana’s look at all. She wore a custom butter-yellow Ralph Lauren gown which is appropriately princessy and Glinda-esque. It’s possibly her best look of the whole promo tour. Unfortunately, Ari had to stand next to Cynthia in this absolutely catastrophic Schiaparelli dress. It’s designed so that the crinoline is visible and popped out to the side. The sequined leggings make it look like she has mismatched robot legs. I apologize to everyone living for this promotional tour, but I genuinely think Cynthia has been so poorly served by the stylists. Is her hat an homage to the Tin Man?? OH MY GOD.

Additional fashion notes: Jeff Goldblum wore Burberry, Jonathan Bailey wore Ralph Lauren (the one premiere where he actually wore eveningwear).

Jeff Goldblum won’t leave his children any money: ‘You’ve got to row your own boat’

Jeff Goldblum started a family later in life. He was in his early 60s when he married his 31-years-younger wife Emilie Livingston. He was 62/63 when they welcomed their first child, Charlie Ocean, and then two years later, they welcomed another son, River. The boys are 8 years old and 6 years old right now, and Goldblum is 71. He’s apparently not planning on leaving his sons much money or maybe even ANY money in his will. He’s one of those celebrities, who thinks that his kids should make their own way in life without an inheritance.

Jeff Goldblum is ready for his kids to get jobs. The actor, 71, revealed that his children — Charlie, 8, and River, 6 — will have to support themselves when they get older. The “Jurassic Park” star shares his sons with wife Emilie Livingston, 41.

“Hey, you know, you’ve got to row your own boat,” he recalled telling them when he recently appeared on the iHeartPodcast “Table for Two With Bruce Bozzi.”

“It’s an important thing to teach kids. I’m not going to do it for you. And you’re not going to want me to do it for you,” he continued. “You’ve got to figure out how to find out what’s wanted and needed and where that intersects with your love and passion and what you can do. And even it if doesn’t, you might have to do that anyway.”

[From The NY Post]

I mean, everyone is different and you feel differently about this kind of stuff depending on your age and background. I didn’t inherit a vast fortune from my late father, but I did inherit a modest amount, enough to make me feel safe, like I have a Plan B in case my life goes t-ts up. I think the inheritance conversation is kind of superficial, because in so many cases, it’s about what values parents instill in their kids – if your parents always taught you to make your own way and work hard no matter what, an inheritance is beneficial. If you’ve taught your kids that everything will be handed to them on a silver platter, then yeah, an inheritance is going to make that situation worse. In Goldblum’s case, I feel sorry for his much-younger wife – I hope she’s in the will, you know?

Laura Dern looked delightfully awful in an orange & turquoise Prada

I haven’t seen any of the recent Jurassic Park movies, am I missing anything? I remember the sequel with Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore. There was another one with Sam Neill too? At some point, they rebooted the series with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and I remember the criticism that the writers/producers made Bryce’s character a caricature of a nagging, know-nothing B. But yeah, I’ve skipped out. I’ll skip out on this new one too, Jurassic World Dominion. They’ve brought the original cast members – Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, Laura Dern – together with the new cast members, Pratt and Howard. Last night was the big premiere in LA for the film. The cast was in Europe last week, doing smaller screenings and photocalls to hype the film, but this seemed to be the big “world premiere.”

We’ve always talked about Bryce’s fashion and styling with the caveat that Bryce has to buy most of the clothes she wears at red-carpet events. While she looks like she’s about a size 8/10 (in America sizing) to me, designers only “lend out” size zero or size two stuff. So she’s not getting freebies and she rarely gets to borrow stuff. Which means she buys her clothes and chooses the clothes herself, to sometimes awful results. She’s going through a fashion phase where she’s all about chest cut-outs and I don’t really get it. This Alex Perry dress isn’t great, but it’s far from the worst thing Bryce has ever worn. Her bangs trauma situation has slightly improved too, right?

Meanwhile, my nemesis Laura Dern looked awful in this Prada ensemble. Reader, I laughed. I always get questions about why Dern is my nemesis. First of all, everyone needs a celebrity nemesis, some BEC who annoys you for no specific reason. I hate her because she’s tall. I hate her because she’s not as talented as people say. I hate her because her style sucks. It brings me such joy that Prada gave her this shiny, cheap, ugly outfit.
