Jennifer Lawrence looked different at the big Dior show in Paris this week

There was a huge Dior runway show/event in Paris yesterday, and all of the Dior-associated people came out for it. I’m including photos of Jennier Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, a severe-looking Charlize Theron and my pick for prettiest princess, Beatrice Borromeo (married to Pierre Casiraghi).

So… um, thoughts about Jennifer Lawrence? J-Law has been a Dior brand ambassador for many, many years, as have Rob Pattinson and Charlize. Jen usually only comes to fashion week for the Dior show and nothing else. We haven’t seen much of her since June, when she promoted No Hard Feelings. At a few of those June premieres, we did talk about her changing/tweaked face. It seems to have gotten worse. I’m still sort of curious about what she’s done and why – she was always such a natural beauty, but she seems to love that “Real Housewife/Kardashian” look so much that she’s trying to emulate it. It’s like she’s surgically eliminated the uniqueness and character from her face.

Rob’s pants are ridiculous and I can’t believe Dior gave Charlize THAT outfit.

Beatrice Borromeo: Princess Kate ‘seems to be… a very stable, strong person’

Beatrice Borromeo is one of the chicest royal-adjacents in Europe. Beatrice is married to Pierre Casiraghi, the second son of Monaco’s Princess Caroline. Beatrice came from a very rich and influential Italian family, so Beatrice and Pierre’s 2015 wedding was something like the union of two wealthy and powerful European dynasties. Pierre and Beatrice have two sons, Francesco and Stefano, and Beatrice works as a model, journalist, brand ambassador and director. She gave a recent interview to A&E Magazine and she was asked about the British royal family, specifically the new Princess of Wales.

Beatrice Borromeo has nothing but kind words for the Princess of Wales. Princess Caroline’s daughter-in-law, 37, was asked about the British royal, 40, during a new interview with A&E Magazine. “I think she is extremely good at her job – not only representing the Royal family but also raising awareness on the importance of children’s early years,” Beatrice said of the Princess of Wales. “She seems to be a very good mother and a very stable, strong person.”

“It must be very hard to be constantly exposed as she is, I wouldn’t thrive in that situation and I admire her for the impeccable way she manages to navigate her role,” she continued. Beatrice noted that the Princess of Wales’ “situation is not comparable to our lives in any way.” She explained, “We help when we can here in Monaco, if there is any need for us to represent the family, we’re honoured to do it but it’s not very demanding for us. We have our jobs, we work for a living, and don’t depend on the State on any level.”

Beatrice married Prince Albert of Monaco’s nephew Pierre Casiraghi in 2015. The filmmaker and Pierre are parents to sons Francesco and Stefano.

Asked by the magazine “what makes modern royals today successful,” the director replied, “I think that the most important thing is not to live in a bubble, to be aware of the world around you and to appreciate the fact that whatever position you’re in, that position is a place of responsibility and not a place of privilege.”

Beatrice added, “It’s a role that allows you to do a lot of good things, a platform that allows you to give. If you try to take from it selfishly that doesn’t work.”

[From Hola]

Beatrice is very gracious about Kate and she’s obviously repeating what Kate’s whole PR facade is supposed to be, that Kate has “never put a foot wrong,” that Kate is all about early years development and royal work. But it does seem like Beatrice understands the flaw in the British monarchy’s system though – in Monaco, the royal-adjacents all have jobs and other sh-t to do. They’re all invited for the big events in Monaco and they all happily show up to Monaco’s National Day or the big Red Cross fundraising gala in Monte Carlo or what have you. In some ways, the Grimaldis operate at a much more modern level – tons of younger, attractive royal-adjacents doing events here and there, no drama about them having private incomes and jobs, and everyone is welcomed as family. Prince Albert, the “sovereign,” has always seemed exceptionally close to all of his nieces and nephews too, and he happily invites them to formal and national events.

Beatrice Borromeo Claire Foy Fashion Natalia Vodianova Pierre Casiraghi rosamund pike Stella Banderas

Was Beatrice Borromeo the best-dressed at the PFW Dior show?

Sometimes I just like to go through the photos of the major Paris Fashion Week shows to see which celebrities came out and how the designer/house dressed them. When we’re talking about Dior, usually the biggest contractually-obligated appearance is from Jennifer Lawrence, but J-Law is heavily pregnant (or perhaps she’s already given birth), so she didn’t travel to Paris. Tons of other people did travel, and almost no one wore masks. Considering France’s new rules/laws for vaccinations, I would assume that everyone attending PFW probably has to show proof of vaccination & boosters? But I have no idea.

Anyway, my favorite look from the Dior show was Beatrice Borromeo and Pierre Casiraghi. They married in 2015 and they have two children. Yes, she still looks like that after two kids. She’s such a swan, and she looks great in pretty much everything. Dior did this thing with the nurse tights though – Beatrice and several other women wore too-white tights/hosiery. It’s such a weird look. Beatrice was actually made one of the brand ambassadors for Dior last year.

I was totally taken aback by Claire Foy’s whole look! I’m so used to seeing her in character as these mostly prim, put-together women in period pieces. She looks so modern just with her hair kind of fluffy and blown out.

Here’s Natalia Vodianova, who was there with her husband Antoine Arnault. They did get married in a small civil ceremony in 2020 after canceling their big fancy wedding during the pandemic. They have two children together, and she has three kids from her first marriage. Russian drama! I wonder if the diamonds are hers or whether she borrowed them.

Rosamund Pike just has the weirdest damn style, I can see her having her choice of all of these Dior frocks and she was like “no, I want the one which looks like a repurposed down comforter, I’ll wear it with a netted fascinator.”

I can’t believe little Stella Banderas is all grown up! She’s in her 20s now and she’s so lovely. I can see the Griffith/Hendron genes, but she doesn’t look like a carbon copy of her mom. Look at the horrible nurse tights!

Here are the Ferragni sisters, Valentina Ferragni and Chiara Ferragni. They’re Italian fashion bloggers/influencers. I actually like the fishnets? They’re cute.

Beatrice Borromeo Pierre Casiraghi

Pierre Casiraghi is the new menswear brand ambassador for Dior: good choice?

2nd Monte-Carlo Gala for the global Ocean in Monaco.

Sometimes I just like to look at and talk about pretty people who don’t do a g–damn thing. So it is with Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice Borromeo. As the years roll by, I think it’s fair to say that Pierre and Beatrice are one of the most attractive and stylish couples in Monaco. Pierre was the one who leveled up – Beatrice is an Italian aristocrat and theirs is an union of old European families, as well as a consolidation of wealth, power, beauty and connections. Plus, they just suit each other physically. She’s a tall, elegant swan and he’s tall, fit, bearded and tan. He’s a recreational sailor. She… wears pretty clothes. They have two sons, Stefano and Francesco. They seem genuinely happy together.

The Casiraghi “kids” don’t have to worry about royal protocols and such for two reasons. One, they’re not actually royal. And two, Monaco is not full of tightass pearl-clutchers. Pierre, Andrea and Charlotte all do “royal events” on their own or with their uncle, but they do those events because they want to be there, basically. It also means that the Casiraghi kids are free to “earn a living,” which is a joke because they’ve all inherited huge sums of money. Still, Charlotte models and acts as a muse for artists and designers. Andrea… um… well, who knows. And now Pierre is getting into modeling.

Dior has a new menswear ambassador — and they didn’t have to look far. Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Princess Caroline of Monaco and grandson of American actress turned royalty Grace Kelly, has joined the French fashion house as a representative, according to WWD. Pierre’s wife, Italian model Beatrice Borromeo, was previously named a Dior ambassador in February — which is not a surprise, given that she edged out the likes of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle to be named the most stylist European royal by Tatler earlier this year.

“An icon of elegance, Pierre Casiraghi becomes Dior’s ambassador. The Monegasque businessman embodies the new facet of tailoring constantly reinvented by Kim Jones [creative of Dior’s men’s line], a timeless modernity,” Dior said in a press release about the 34-year-old businessman, who is eighth in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne.

[From People]

“The Monegasque businessman”? I thought he was a gentleman sailor? He’s a businessman? Okay, he is, I just looked at his Wiki. He inherited businesses from his father, basically. As for the brand-ambassadorship, I wonder how much it pays. I don’t think these brand-ambassadorships pay that much, it’s mostly about the prestige and the free clothes. Still, it’s nice. Dior could do a lot worse. Maybe Dior is making a play to ingratiate the label with the Grimaldis following Karl Lagerfeld’s death – Lagerfeld was friendly with Prince Albert for many, many years, and Lagerfeld counted Charlotte Casiraghi as one of his Chanel brand-ambassadors and muses.

Anyway, pretty pictures.
