Over the weekend, Jay-Z and Beyonce hosted a huge charity event in Atlantic City. The charity is REFORM Alliance, a non-profit which “aims to transform probation and parole by changing laws, systems and culture to create real pathways to work and wellbeing.” The fundraiser was the second annual “Casino Night,” and the fundraiser brought in $20 million. The Weeknd performed an exclusive set, and there was a charity auction which raised a big chunk of the profits. Unfortunately, a good night for charity is being overshadowed by the fact that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were in attendance. They were on the official guest list. Not only that, but they were seated at the same table as Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Countless celebrities attended the REFORM Alliance Casino Night And Gala at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City this weekend. The event was hosted by Michael Rubin and Meek Mill. It even managed to raise an impressive $20 million for criminal justice reform. Unfortunately, however, the seating chart is making headlines and raising eyebrows. This is because it’s been reported that Jay-Z and Beyonce sat near Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, per @abenaissance on X.

Other reports suggest that the two Grammy-winners sat alone in the middle of the event. While the truth remains unclear for now, they’re receiving a great deal of backlash as photos from the gala continue to make their rounds online.

“Guess the Kamala endorsement was just to get good PR,” one X user says. “All that campaigning for Kamala was clearly a front,” someone else speculates. Others are coming to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s defense, and arguing that where they sat at one event doesn’t necessarily determine their political beliefs.

Beyonce was absolutely seated at the same table as Javanka, I don’t know what to tell you. There are photos – go here to see – where you can plainly see Beyonce seated across from Jared and Ivanka. Jay-Z and Beyonce were the hosts, and Javanka’s names were included on the official guest list. Sure, sitting at the same table with someone at a charity fundraiser isn’t indicative of a political alliance, and it’s not like authoritarianism is airborne. But it absolutely looks bad and it simply IS bad. Ivanka and Jared should not be invited to these kinds of society events, and they should not be seated in a place of honor with Bey-Z.

Charley Crockett: ‘Hey country folks, Beyonce ain’t the source of your discontent’

In February, Beyonce won the Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year Grammys for Cowboy Carter. Country music – the corporate, sanitized, radio-approved country music industry – had already decided that they despised Cowboy Carter, but seeing Beyonce’s country album win those two Grammys sent them over the edge. There was a backlash and it was just as dumb and racist as you would expect. A couple of country “stars” have also attacked Beyonce and incurred the wrath of the Beyhive, namely Gavin Adock and Morgan Wallen. Well, another country star has thoughts about Beyonce and the grenade she set off in country music. That man is Charley Crockett. Before now, I’ve never heard his songs, but I’m listening now and he’s got a real vintage vibe? You can tell that he’s obsessed with Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. Crockett is a Texas native and mixed race. Well, Crocket went OFF on his Instagram this week:

Hey country folks. @beyonce ain’t the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country. #1 country artist on earth listens to nothing but rap. Openly says he doesn’t really know any country music. Gotta respect his honesty.

The machine points to a black woman who’s making a statement about marginalized people being removed from the conversation altogether, and somehow we all act like the entire pop industry didn’t just ambush roots music. These “country boys” been *singing* over trap beats for years. So what’s different now? Authenticity.

Many of those business folks called me early on. They had whole albums pre written and recorded ready to just plug me in. I have receipts. It’s harder than ever to keep the public’s attention. They said and I quote “we wanna get into country music where you have audience loyalty.” Hot today, forgot tomorrow.

I don’t need to put down a black woman to advance my music. That’s just embarrassing to the idea of America and I got no respect for it. Somebody asked me why I listen to @bigxthaplug the other day. Easy. He’s genuine. A true story teller. The best hip hop sound to come out of Texas in this century.

The challenges country music faces aren’t unique. It’s an issue in every *genre*. I don’t have a problem with Americana. I have a problem with being compartmentalized by the music business. Outlaw as a *sub genre* of country was artists standing up for their rights against a rigid system. Ain’t no reason to imitate @officialwaylon and @willienelsonofficial if you ain’t about the fight. Texas forever.

The “#1 country artist on earth listens to nothing but rap” thing is a reference to Morgan Wallen, who said that he barely listens to country music… and you can tell. Wallen has been dying to crossover into a more mainstream pop/country career. He’s also one of the country artists singing over trap beats, but Wallen isn’t alone there. Anyway, while Crockett’s points are sort of scattered and stream-of-consciousness, I get the feeling that he was sending a message to some specific people in the music industry (not just Adcock and Wallen) and not all of it was a message for the larger public.

In any case, Crockett is correct – Beyonce “ain’t the source of your discontent.” It’s actually a huge tell of country music’s self-defeating gatekeeping that they refused to embrace Beyonce and Cowboy Carter. They should have recognized that the biggest, most influential artist of the past twenty years making a country album was a huge cultural moment for their genre. They should have begged her to perform on all of their country music shows. They should have invited her to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Instead, they all showed their asses and proved Beyonce’s larger point, that she didn’t feel welcomed in a genre which was authentically HERS.

Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter album includes a great song called “Levii’s Jeans,” which features Post Malone. Levi’s didn’t organize the song or work with Beyonce in any way ahead of time, and once the album came out, they were incredibly flattered with the song and with everything about their new association with Beyonce. Quickly, Levi’s people got together with Beyonce’s people and an ad campaign was born. Now Beyonce is doing a full collaboration with Levi’s and they’re calling it the Beyonce X Levi’s denim collection. Beyonce stars in a new video and new promotional images:

Levi’s social media is really working this connection, and Beyonce even dressed her tour dancers in pieces from the rhinestone-studded collection. So, what’s the problem? Nothing really. As I said, Bey and Levi’s have been working together since last fall, and Levi’s was really jazzed about Cowboy Carter entirely. But this collab is dropping right now, in the middle of the Sydney Sweeney-American-Eagle-Eugenics controversy. It’s not like Levi’s threw this together in a matter of days – this has clearly been a collaboration one year in the making. But you can guess who has a problem with it: MAGA and their handmaidens, including Megyn Kelly (who has had a hate-on for Beyonce for years).

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t been seen or heard from in a few weeks. Meghan hasn’t updated her personal Instagram since the 4th of July, and As Ever’s IG Stories are just reposts of people using As Ever products. Prince Harry was in Angola in mid-July, and he reportedly went to Botswana to see his dear friends Teej and Mike. My theory is that Meghan and the kids are in Africa too, and this could have been Archie and Lili’s first trip to Botswana as well. My point is that I kind of doubt that the Sussex fam is even in America right now, so why are people asking about Meghan NOT attending Beyonce’s final Cowboy Carter concert in Las Vegas over the weekend?

Fans have been questioning Meghan Markle’s absence after a slew of her celebrity pals jetted off to Las Vegas together to watch Beyoncé perform during the final show of her acclaimed Cowboy Carter tour. Beyoncé concluded her tour in Las Vegas on Saturday night, and a whole host of A-listers were in the audience supporting her.

Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Khloe Kardashian, Gayle King, and Kerry Washington all attended the hotly-anticipated concert. The stars watched side by side from the VIP section and shared a handful of images together throughout the night.

But numerous social media followers were quick to notice that many of the famous faces in attendance at the show are deemed to be part of Meghan’s ‘Montecito squad,’ and began to wonder why she wasn’t there with them.

After Gayle posted pictures alongside a group of stars at the concert, numerous fans rushed to the comment section to ask, ‘Where’s Meghan?’

‘And no Meghan Markle? I hear plates shattering in Montecito,’ joked someone else.

‘Where’s your other bestie Meghan Markle?’ wondered another person.

Meghan and Harry went to one of Beyonce’s LA concerts back in May – the Mail knows that, because they smashed plates and sobbed about how hot Harry and Meghan looked in the photos. Meghan also attended multiple Renaissance-tour concerts in 2023. If I’m being honest, I’ll admit that sure, Meghan probably would have loved to be there for Bey’s final Cowboy Carter concert. But Meghan is part of Beyonce’s inner circle – Meg knows that Beyonce will release Act iii (long rumored to be Beyonce’s rock album) and Meghan will definitely attend multiple nights of that tour! And as I said, my theory is that the Sussexes are out of the country right now.

Before this week, I had never heard of country music artist Gavin Adcock. I don’t keep up with country music, and I tend to only pay attention when country artists have a “crossover hit.” I just listened to one of Adcock’s songs… he actually has a nice, twangy voice. Too bad he’s a complete tool who just risked life and limb by alienating the Beyhive (and too bad he has the worst mullet I’ve ever seen in my life). Recently, Adcock decided to open his piehole about Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter. You know, Beyonce’s country album which won Grammys for Best Country Album AND Album of the Year?

Country singer Gavin Adcock has spoken out against Beyoncé‘s “Cowboy Carter,” stating during a recent live performance “that sh-t ain’t country music.”

Adcock put Beyoncé in the crosshairs after opining that “Cowboy Carter” was ahead of other records on the Apple Music country charts. “One of them’s Beyoncé, you can tell her we’re coming for her f–kin’ ass,” he said. “That sh-t ain’t country music and it ain’t ever been country music and it ain’t gonna be country music.”

Adcock, who was nominated for new male artist of the year at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, later posted a follow-up on social media explaining the reasoning behind his words for “Cowboy Carter,” which took home album of the year at the Grammys in February.

“I’ma go ahead and clear this up,” he said. “When I was a little kid, my mama was blasting some Beyoncé in the car. I’ve heard a ton of Beyoncé songs and I actually remember her Super Bowl Halftime Show being pretty kick-ass back in the day. But I really don’t believe her album should be labeled as country music. It doesn’t sound country, it doesn’t feel country, and I just don’t think that people that have dedicated their whole lives to this genre and this lifestyle should have to compete or watch that album just stay at the top just because she’s Beyoncé.”

CC is arguably her best album since Lemonade, and as a matter of fact, it does sound like country music! It sounds more like country music than half of the country artists charting today. Mullet McRacist just hates that a Black woman is making more interesting and enjoyable country music than most country artists.

Last week, actor Derek Dixon sued Tyler Perry for sexual assault and harassment. The lawsuit was reported everywhere, from TMZ to People to NBC to the Associated Press. There are texts, allegedly between the two men, circulating online as well. While the lawsuit was reported on widely, as well as Tyler’s denial of any wrongdoing, there’s been little follow-up. The silence in recent days is a reflection of the power Tyler wields within the industry, and it’s also a reflection of Tyler’s friendships with many powerful figures. Speaking of, Tyler was seen late last week in Paris at one of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter concerts. He was in the VIP area with Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles. A visual signal that Tyler is under the protection of the Beygency.

The Daily Mail was one of the few outlets to break ranks and attempt to provide some kind of scandalous coverage of Perry, and of course they went through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex: “Deafening silence from Harry and Meghan as Lilibet’s billionaire godfather is sued by actor for sexual harassment.” I skimmed the piece and it’s not worth excerpting at all, it’s just “Harry and Meghan haven’t said anything about Tyler, who is their daughter’s godfather.” Which is true. Oprah hasn’t said anything either. Neither has Beyonce or anyone else close to Tyler. The British media should be really careful here, because the Windsors have so many associations, godparents and relatives who have been credibly accused of sexual assaults, rape and more. King Charles’s associations with Jimmy Savile, anyone? Prince Andrew? Lord Mountbatten? Be for real.

We haven’t talked much about Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter tour, or Kendrick Lamar’s GNX tour either. Both tours are massively successful and I love seeing all of the videos and photos on my timeline, but the stories are usually just “hey, Beyonce or Kendrick did something cool and everyone loved it!” Well, Beyonce has taken Cowboy Carter to Europe, and it’s been really great to see Europeans attempt the “cowboy” dress code. Last night, Beyonce began her three-night concert series in Paris. Beyonce loves Paris, and she always does something extra special for the French crowds. Well, last night, she brought out Miley Cyrus for their first-ever live performance of “II Most Wanted.” I’ve said this before, but I was really surprised by how much I love this song and it quickly became one of my favorites on the album. The way Miley and Beyonce harmonize on it is really gorgeous. The performance last night was amazing too (this is not the complete performance).

It’s just cool! Beyonce got Post Malone & Shaboozey to drop everything and perform with her on Christmas Day, and now she got Miley to drop everything to perform in Paris. Whenever Beyonce calls, other artists just… do whatever they can for Queen B. Miley also got on her social media afterwards and wrote about how much she loves Beyonce and she promised to be Bey’s shotgun rider for life.
