On Saturday, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out in Paris. She attended the Balenciaga show, and then changed into a sexy black dress for a post-runway party or dinner. She looked amazing. She glowed. She looked rich! Obviously, the usual suspects are upset about all of it. The immediate reaction from the British media was “how can Meghan visit France but not England?” Because King Charles has made it perfectly clear that the Sussex family should be put in mortal danger without security if they ever step foot on British soil? Because Meghan’s private security was most likely supplemented by official French police protection? Because the British papers to this day scream about how everyone on Abandonment Issues Isle hates Meghan and they never want her to come back? After the initial shock wore off, British royalists are trying a new tack: pretending that Meghan’s relative proximity to the UK means she secretly wants to come back to them! Bizarrely, they’re also acting as if France is part of the United Kingdom (it is not). From The Royalists’s fevered commentary:

Meghan Markle’s return to the European stage at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday night was nothing less than a statement of intent. This was her first time in Europe since she attended the Düsseldorf Invictus Games in 2023. Her team insisted that she was there simply to support Balenciaga’s new creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, but the symbolism was impossible to miss.

In the mirrored hall of Balenciaga, Meghan was once again among the European elite. Her solo trip may well have been planned to support a friend, but it also marked something larger, a controlled return to the continent she once seemed ready to abandon. The Duchess of Sussex’s sojourn to Paris was a huge success. The information about her journey to France was completely locked down, and the media didn’t know anything until Meghan posted some IG Stories and then stepped out for the Balenciaga show. The photos and videos of Meghan in Paris were everywhere this weekend, all over American and international media. The New York Times used a photo of Meghan – and not Pierpaolo Piccioli or one of the runway shots – as their top image about the new Balenciaga collection. This is how the NYT’s Vanessa Friedman wrote about Meghan:

It takes a lot for the jaded fashion crowd to get excited about a celebrity. Even Kim Kardashian’s appearance at Maison Margiela with cropped hair that made her look like she was cosplaying her mother merely elicited amused grins. Ditto Ina Garten popping up at Hermès, to enjoy the parade of leather. But when Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, swept into the Balenciaga show on Saturday night, sheathed in a floor-length white shawl, every smartphone swiveled in her wake. (Nearby, Lauren Sánchez Bezos caused less of a kerfuffle.)

It was a sign of just how big a deal the show, the first from the house’s new creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, was going to be. After all, the duchess knows something about starting new chapters and dressing the part. Even in a season of major debuts, this was one of the biggest.

The point is that it was a HUGE deal in the fashion world that Meghan came out to support Balenciaga’s new chapter and Piccioli’s new chapter. It was a HUGE deal in the mainstream media that Meghan came to Paris and they had new photos of her looking fabulous.

So… of course the British media and the Deranger community has been trying their hardest to piss all over it. This is what they’ve settled on: in her IG Stories, Meghan posted a glimpse of her feet up inside a limousine as she was driven around Paris. The Daily Mail claims that this is insensitive because Meghan shot the footage “near” the Pont de l’Alma, the tunnel where Princess Diana’s car crashed and Diana sustained fatal injuries. The Mail even claimed that Meghan had her feet up as she was being driven “past” the l’Alma tunnel. This is a blatant lie. In the background of Meghan’s video, you could see the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalid bridges. The Pont de l’Alma is apparently a kilometer away. I have an extremely macabre theory about why THIS is the talking point for the Mail.

I was a bit quiet on As Ever’s last-August product drop. The Duchess of Sussex restocked and offered a new jam flavor, all to coincide with the second season of With Love, Meghan. I loved WLM S2. I was… not a huge fan of the orange marmalade jam though. It was fine, but I really preferred the apricot and, as ever, that raspberry jam is my girl. While I think Meghan probably had much more inventory of the marmalade than she ever did with the raspberry and apricot, I did clock the fact that it took more than a week for the marmalade to sell out. Again, I’m not a hater! I just don’t think that one particular flavor was As Ever’s best offering.

Well, good news? Meghan has quietly restocked again. I guess we’re calling this the October drop. The orange marmalade spread is back in stock (booo) but so is the apricot (yaaay). Flower sprinkles and the teas are also back in stock. The crepe mix and shortbread cookie mix are both still sold-out. But she has “coming soon” on the raspberry jam. When that comes back, I will fight every last one of you to get several jars of raspberry.

Additionally, Meghan added a new wine to her October drop: the 2024 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Her first Sauvignon Blanc after two rosés. From As Ever: “Our first Sauvignon Blanc is bright and balanced, with citrus aromatics, a smooth finish, and refreshing versatility. Crafted for everyday dinners and celebratory gatherings alike, this thoughtfully made wine is perfect for sharing, gifting, and savoring in every season.” I used to enjoy a glass of white wine, but I always had the cheap stuff that made me purse my lips with the aftertaste. I bet Meg’s is good though. Apparently, she collaborated with a New Zealand winery for this one. That’s cool! While I think Meghan loves doing her jams, teas and mixes, I believe her wine collection is probably the most profitable part of As Ever.

In the past two years, there have been HUGE reshuffles at nearly every major fashion house. It’s a pretty crazy moment for fashionistas and people who study the fashion industry. During Paris Fashion Week, many of the new creative directors of the most recognizable brands in the world gave their debut collections. One of those new chief creatives? Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first-ever collection for Balenciaga after 16 years at Valentino.

The Duchess of Sussex loved wearing Piccioli’s Valentino designs, and on Saturday, she stepped out for her first-ever Paris Fashion Week to attend his debut collection with Balenciaga. I’m assuming that the Balenciaga team styled Meghan, because that’s how most of these “celebrity appearances” at fashion shows work – you get to wear something fresh from the runway and the designers’ stylists want everything to look on-theme. Meghan wore all-white – elegant white trousers, a billowy white button-down and a white cape. She also wore black pumps and carried a black bag. I’m assuming the shoes and bag are Balenciaga as well – Balenciaga has always done some majorly coveted handbags, and I hope they’re prepared for the Meghan Sussex bump. From Hello! Mag:

Meghan, who teased her arrival in the French capital with an Instagram story overlaid with the French track “Viens on essaie” by Vitaa and Julien Doré, was there “in support Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently assumed the role of Creative Director for the House”, a spokesman for Meghan tells HELLO!.

“Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage. She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different,” said the spokesman. “This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”

Nice. As I’m writing this, I’ve completely avoided the British tabloid coverage of this. I assume that it will take them a good 12 hours to get their talking points from the palace. What else?? As Vogue pointed out, while this is Meghan’s first-ever appearance at Paris Fashion Week, in her pre-Sussex era, she attended shows at New York Fashion Week, including the runways for Tory Burch, Peter Som, Wes Gordon and Misha Nonoo. Meghan also ran into Anna Wintour at the show and Anna sounded very, very pleased to see Meghan in Paris. American Vogue cover WHEN?? It’s honestly past time for an American Vogue cover. PS… Meghan stepped out in black after the show!!

Eden: ‘Senior government figures are also keen’ for the Sussexes to reconcile

One week ago, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden had a funny/odd exclusive: there is a sinister plot to undermine the Prince and Princess of Wales! Considering William and Kate are regularly undermined by lace-front wigs and task-heavy gophers, I didn’t think much of Eden’s reporting. It was basically a rehash of Brit tabloid reports about the Sussexes in the past month – something about Harry’s desperation to educate his children in the UK (a lie) and how Harry is begging his father for a royal property (another lie) and how Charles is seriously considering “bringing the Sussexes back” when Harry and Meghan haven’t even apologized for forcing Will and Kate to be such racist a–holes! Well, Eden is still on the case in this week’s column: “How senior Government figures have joined ‘Establishment plot’ to bring back Harry and Meghan, I’m told. I exposed scheming against William and Kate last week… now there’s a twist even I didn’t see.” This reminds me so much of the breathless four-sentence headlines the Sussexes have inspired when they do things like “take a trip to Jamaica” and “post a photo for a holiday.” Anyway, the main thrust of Eden’s column:

Two days after I exposed a sinister Establishment ‘plot’ to undermine the Prince and Princess of Wales and bring back the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, accusations were made public last week about a rival conspiracy. The claims emanated from Prince Harry himself, who decided to voice his suspicions that unnamed ‘sources’ were at work trying to ruin his hopes of a reconciliation with King Charles and, eventually, the rest of the Royal Family.

Harry was moved to issue a public statement after The Sun newspaper ran a front-page report suggesting last month’s reunion with his father had been more formal than expected. It was claimed the duke had been left feeling he was being treated as an official visitor, rather than family. In his response to the story, Harry’s spokesman said the claims were ‘pure invention-fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son’.

The ‘sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation’ – the duke’s words – are understood to be officials or courtiers who work for the King….Harry’s decision to make public his claims of ‘sabotage’ vividly illustrates the seriousness – I would say desperation – of his hopes for a reconciliation with the King.

His appetite for a reunion is, however, leading the duke down the dangerous path once taken by his late mother, Princess Diana, who became increasingly convinced that ‘men in grey suits’ were to blame for her difficulties. Encouraged by the lies told to her by the BBC’s rogue reporter Martin Bashir, she agreed to give the explosive Panorama interview that ruined her relationship with the Royal Family forever and, in Prince William’s words, contributed significantly to the fear, paranoia and isolation of her final years.

There is no evidence of a plot against Harry. The Sun’s report is likely to have been the result of second-hand whispers from who-knows-where? In my experience, Harry’s remaining friends and colleagues in California are just as gossipy as the ones he left behind in this country.

The real plot is the one I exposed last week, which involves a relentless public relations campaign waged by the Sussexes aimed at restoring the California-based couple to the affections of the British public. It is worrying King Charles has been drawn into this, aided by some key figures of the Establishment behind the scenes.

Since last week, I have heard claims senior Government figures are also keen for Harry and Meghan to reconcile with the Royal Family. Many on the Left hailed the mixed-race American actress as a symbol of change in the Monarchy when she married Harry in 2018 – and still yearn for her return. While they may be happy to ignore the deeply hurtful claims she has made about Princess Catherine and others, I don’t believe there should be any reconciliation unless it is accompanied by genuine apologies from the Sussexes for the damage they have done.

If the men in grey are not pulling the strings, why are they working so hard to gaslight Harry and threaten his life?

As for this: “I have heard claims senior Government figures are also keen for Harry and Meghan to reconcile with the Royal Family. Many on the Left… still yearn for her return.” LMAO. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some Labour figures who were more pro-Sussex than many of the Tories prancing through the British government in the past fifteen years. You also have to remember, there was a revolving door between Downing Street and Kensington Palace in particular – the Tory elders have taken a special interest in grooming William to be the compromised moron king of their dreams. That being said, remember when Boris Johnson revealed that he really liked the Sussexes and he knew they were great for the monarchy’s future and he apparently begged Harry to stay? I truly wonder whether the Starmer government has pushed the palace to soften on Harry this year.

‘Tis the season for the annual speculation about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Christmas plans. Prince Harry and Meghan have not spent Christmas in the UK since 2018. Their children have NEVER spent Christmas in Sandringham or on British soil. You would think six Christmas holidays spent outside the UK would indicate a pattern of “the Sussexes do not give a f–k about Christmas at Sandringham.” Well, the Windsors and their courtiers refuse to acknowledge that pattern, just like they refuse to acknowledge that Harry and Meghan are happily creating their own “California Christmas” traditions in Montecito. From Katie Nicholl’s latest at Vanity Fair:

It’s not just Prince Andrew who won’t be celebrating Christmas with the royals at Sandringham this year. Prince Harry will also not be getting an invite, according to a friend of the royal family.

Despite Prince Harry’s recent face-to-face meeting with King Charles, “it’s not the case that Harry is going to be welcomed back with open arms and certainly not in time for Christmas,” a friend of the royal family told Vanity Fair. “As far as the king is concerned, the door has always been left open for Harry, but Harry has to pass the trust test. If he does, then I think there could well be another meeting in the new year.”

Although King Charles has been willing to meet with Harry, Prince William has “no intention” of speaking to his brother, the source said. “With things being so dire between William and Harry, I’m not sure Harry would even want to be at Sandringham for Christmas,” the source added. “It would be very awkward. He knows he’d probably get quite a frosty reception from most of the family.”

When reached for comment by Vanity Fair, a spokesperson for Prince Harry declined to comment on his Christmas plans. Buckingham Palace did not respond to a request for comment.

I’ll say the same thing I say every year: King Charles is a f–king moron. The calculation should have been made years ago, that the Sussexes don’t even want to trek to Sandringham for Christmas, so it would look much better to just invite them. You know what I’m saying? Charles would look like the bigger man, he would look generous of spirit and like he actually loves his redheaded son. It would put the onus on Harry, and Harry would have to be the one saying “actually, I don’t want to come.” Charles would look like a sympathetic figure. Instead, six years later, the Windsors are still acting like Christmas-at-Sandringham is some coveted invitation and they’re snubbing the Sussexes yet again. And William needs to stop talking, my god. “He knows he’d probably get quite a frosty reception from most of the family.” They’re all laughing at you, Peg.

The Duchess of Sussex really had a quiet September. No big announcements, no new product drop, just one public appearance (Santa Barbara fundraiser) and some social media posts. You would never know that Meghan has been quiet though, because the usual suspects have been screaming about her nonstop. My favorite thing is when the British media obsessively pores over incidents or moments from five-plus years ago as some kind of “remember when/we should have known she would abandon us back then” royalist history. But this is also a fun new thing, when they proclaim that Meghan is doing, wearing or saying something about them. At Kevin Costner’s fundraiser a few weekends ago, Meghan wore a new ring. Last weekend, she posted a video of her As Ever planter full of flowers. Those two things are being used as “evidence” that Meghan can’t let go of “British royalty.”

Despite stepping down as a senior royal in 2020, it appears Meghan Markle may not yet have let go of all the elements of life as a member of The Firm. While the 44-year-old and her husband Harry have since moved to California, and no longer represent the British royals, Meghan has appeared to maintain a connection with the Windsors on several occasions, with what could be nods to royalty via floral arrangements and jewellery.

Most recently, she gave fans a rare glimpse inside the $14million mansion she shares with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in Montecito. The mother-of-three took to her Instagram account on September 26 to show off what appeared to be her cosy living room. Sharing a clip on her Stories with her 4.2million followers, the mother-of-two showcased an elegant floral arrangement and her beagle, Mia, sleeping on a stunning cream armchair and matching cushioned footstool.

The eye-catching flowers were placed in a white stone vase, embellished with the logo from Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever. This subtle hint to a potential new range wasn’t the only hidden detail in Meghan’s clip – she also included a royal nod. The garden roses in her As Ever vase, which was placed on a chic side table next to the armchair, were arranged with Queen Anne’s lace, the mother-of-two revealed. She wrote in a caption on her Story: ‘Delphinium, Nigella, Veronica – meet As ever. With garden roses and Queen Anne’s lace (and a very sleepy Mia). Looking lovely, ladies,’ she said, referring to her flowers. The Duchess’s cosy living room also included a brown and cream $2,000 Hermès throw.

Her royal nod with the Queen Anne’s lace came just days after she was spotted wearing a piece of jewellery with its own very regal name. Meghan was sighted sporting what was thought to be a very glamorous birthday present from Prince Harry – a ring which she opted to wear on her right hand, during a surprise joint appearance with her husband at Kevin Costner’s starry gathering in Santa Barbara on September 21. It is believed to be the £3,185 ‘Queen’ Water Drop Moonstone Ring with Full Pavé Diamond Halo, from brand Logan Hollowell was potentially gifted by Harry just in time for Meghan’s 44th, on August 4. The ring comes in three sizes – Micro Queen, Baby Queen and Classic Queen, and it is understood that Meghan was wearing the latter, which is the biggest.
