Accompanying the ultrasound is the same pic of the couple that Bynes posted last week after their engagement ended. Bynes, 33, and Michael seemingly broke up weeks after their engagement — which she announced over Valentine’s Day weekend — in early March. Bynes’ mother, Lynn Bynes, who currently controls the former actress’ finances and affairs, reportedly won’t legally permit her to marry Michael. Bynes was then ordered into a psychiatric facility, which Michael later claimed was “a residential treatment, which is called inpatient,” but not a hospital. Hey, before we get started with the fun, can we just discuss that Amanda Bynes isn’t verified on Instagram? How is that possible. She’s got 260k followers. Anyway… So Amanda decided to share her boyfriend turned fiance with the world. She got engaged on Friday. She has a face tattoo of a heart, too. But I don’t know when that nonsense happened. And now the identity of her new man has been revealed, with The Blast confirming his name is Paul Michael and the couple have reportedly been dating for two or three months after meeting at AA classes. I feel like this is just not a good idea and it’s certainly not what AA would recommend, but I really do with Amanda all the happiness she can handle. So here’s the gorgeous ring. From Amanda’s Instagram It was this past summer that we last really saw 33 year old Amanda Bynes. She was doing well, considering she had been spiralling out of control for several years. Finished Fashion school. Was living clean and sober in a half way house and had access to her money to start working on rebuilding. Now a source is telling that she’s left that facility, initially without any word to anyone, and is taking a swing at doing it on her own. But that concerns many. In addition, the source reveals, “She dropped out of the FIDM bachelor degree program she enrolled in… [and] is not working.” They DO NOT believe she is doing drugs, but they do have fears that she may. For these reasons, Amanda, her parents and her lawyers returned to court on Thursday to figure out the next steps. “She may not go back [to the facility], but again, she’s not doing drugs and mentally and physically she’s okay. She does not have to go back but it’s unclear what’s going to happen,” the insider explains. So far, the source describes Amanda as “open to getting help,” which was reassuring to her parents who hadn’t seen her since she left the sober living facility. The source says, “In court her parents were reassured that she’s doing well and okay and that everything is back on track.” So we shall see, but we’re routing for you, Amanda. Amanda Bynes posted a new selfie on Twitter
Amanda Bynes has been keeping it pretty low key lately (or at least the past few weeks), it seems – at least as far as the media attention goes – and hopefully that’s a sign that she’s doing better. Unfortunately, with mental illness, it’s a life-long struggle that you don’t just wake up one day completely recovered from – it doesn’t work like that. However, now she’s posted a new selfie in which she is looking lucid (and fashionable?) and hopefully it’s a sign that she’s on her meds and doing well. Here’s the big part of this story, though, for me. US Weekly posted this photo with the caption, “Get it, girl! Amanda Bynes appears healthy, slim in new photo!” Uh… yes, she does appear slim, as she has battled with a severe eating disorder for many years. Who in the hell thinks that’s in good taste? This kind of publicity is exactly what reenforces this disordered behaviour. Like, what? Anyway, I hope Amanda IS feeling healthier and on the path to a bit more normalcy, to say the least. Amanda Bynes is sorry you found out about her wanting to murder her dad
Look, I know Amanda Bynes is seriously mentally ill and in need of real, sustained help, but this is a celebrity gossip site and she is a celebrity. We’re reporting on it, okay? Okay. Last weekend her roommates released some audio recording of Amanda fantasizing about how she wants to kill her dad, and that made it clearer than ever that the girl is not only a danger to others, but to herself, as well. Things have finally gone too far for Amanda, and she’s decided to release a statement (to Access Hollywood, of all places) on the recordings. “I’m sorry I trusted people who clearly were not my friends and capitalized on my illness. I am doing my best to get better. I am truly sorry for the statements I made. I am sorry for any pain I caused my family and others,” Amanda said in a statement released to Access by her attorney, David Esquibias. “I am thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding. I never expected others to take advantage and profit from my condition. I’m disappointed with those who lulled me into a false sense of security only to find out they really are only interested in selling my privacy to the media.” I mean, obviously these “friends” she was staying with are scumbags and she should get away from them (and into a mental health facility, but that’s neither here nor there), but also… she clearly was talking about hurting her family. While she later tweeted that she was “joking” (no doubt on the advice of her attorney), sorry… no one jokes about that.
