Look, I know Amanda Bynes is seriously mentally ill and in need of real, sustained help, but this is a celebrity gossip site and she is a celebrity. We’re reporting on it, okay? Okay. Last weekend her roommates released some audio recording of Amanda fantasizing about how she wants to kill her dad, and that made it clearer than ever that the girl is not only a danger to others, but to herself, as well. Things have finally gone too far for Amanda, and she’s decided to release a statement (to Access Hollywood, of all places) on the recordings. “I’m sorry I trusted people who clearly were not my friends and capitalized on my illness. I am doing my best to get better. I am truly sorry for the statements I made. I am sorry for any pain I caused my family and others,” Amanda said in a statement released to Access by her attorney, David Esquibias. “I am thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding. I never expected others to take advantage and profit from my condition. I’m disappointed with those who lulled me into a false sense of security only to find out they really are only interested in selling my privacy to the media.” I mean, obviously these “friends” she was staying with are scumbags and she should get away from them (and into a mental health facility, but that’s neither here nor there), but also… she clearly was talking about hurting her family. While she later tweeted that she was “joking” (no doubt on the advice of her attorney), sorry… no one jokes about that. Amanda Bynes On Her Father: “I Haven’t Decided How I’d Want To Murder Him”

Amanda Bynes is not improving. Things just keep getting worse and worse for the troubled actress. Where we last left off in the Bynes Saga, Ms. Bynes’ parents had given up trying to get back conservatorship, and had moved on. Unfortunately, more troubles are going to follow them, as audio leaked of apparently Amanda Bynes describing how she’d kill her parents. It’s really sad. “Nothing would give me greater pleasure than, like, slitting his throat,” Bynes said, of her father. More, from TMZ: Amanda Bynes dreams of murdering her dad, slitting her mom’s wrists and burning her house down, and she attacks a friend, telling him, “You’re so gay it hurts my feelings” … and it’s all on tape.The audio was recorded a week ago by one of Amanda’s West Hollywood roommates as they drove. It’s the first time we’ve been able to hear Amanda’s ramblings when she goes off the rails.The first audio is tirade against her parents, wishing them dead. The second audio is a rant that ends with a homophobic attack.Members of Amanda’s family tell TMZ … they wanted us to post the audio … which could be a wake-up call for medical professionals to intervene and get her help. Since they want us to share the audio, here it is. The first clip is her attack on her parents; the second is an attack on her roommates (those pour souls): God, I feel so awful for her parents in all this. It’s gotta break their hearts. I can’t imagine what it must be like to hear your own daughter say such terrible things about you. But at least they know she’s not well, and it’s coming from an unhealthy place. Amanda Bynes is off her medication

Oh man, this isn’t very good. Getting treatment for her mental health disorders was Amanda Bynes‘ saving grace, and now it seems like all that progress may just go down the tubes because her mother has taken her off ALL of her medication and her lawyer is claiming she was never schizophrenic at all. First, here’s her lawyer Tamark Arminak’s statement: “There has been much speculation about Amanda’s medical condition. She has remained silent because she believed it was best to keep her mental health diagnosis private.” “However, she asked me to dispel certain rumors. For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it. Amanda currently is on zero medication. She’s devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She’s never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she’s proud to say she’s been marijuana-free for the past nine months.” Oh man. Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt, as they say. Amanda’s mother, Lynn, even claims that literally EVERYTHING that happened to Amanda before going into treatment was the result of her smoking too much weed. Because, you know, being a stoner makes you want to soak your dog in gasoline, start fires in random people’s driveways, etc. And, as TMZ points out: – Amanda was placed on an LPS Hold last year after a judge heard evidence in the psychiatric hospital where she was being held.  According to California law, someone can be placed on an LPS Hold only when the person remains “gravely disabled as the result of a mental disorder or impairment by chronic alcoholism.”  As we reported, doctors presented evidence of grave mental illness. – Amanda’s mom won a temporary conservatorship after a court-appointed investigator determined Amanda was severely mentally ill.  The judge granted the conservatorship order not too long after Amanda soaked her dog in gasoline and almost lit it on fire. – Amanda’s lawyers in both California and New York won delays in her criminal cases based on mental illness. – Sources directly connected to Amanda and her treatment tell TMZ Amanda was given a complex Rx cocktail in a Ventura County psych hospital specifically for Schizophrenia. – Amanda spent weeks at the UCLA psych ward and at times was so incoherent she had to be restrained.  Amanda left after she became freaked out by other patients. – Sources tell us, during Amanda’s stay at a Ventura County psych hospital, she would tell doctors about the “Bad Amanda” and mimicked an exorcism and began biting herself. Dear God. It’s pretty clear that Amanda does indeed suffer from mental illness, and there’s nothing to be ashamed about there. She didn’t ask for it and it’s not her fault. However, it IS rather serious and she needs to be on medication unless the people around her down value her life (or perhaps their own, if it went far enough). Amanda Bynes Posts New Twitter Pics

Amanda Bynes is back on twitter, and she’s back to posting pics — but they’re totally normal. It looks like maybe she got the help she needed, because the girl seems well-adjusted and healthy, at least judging from the pics she posted. Though she’s had problems with her family in the past, these photos (above and below) show her smiling with her parents at an FIDM fashion show. I think she realizes that anything she posts on Twitter is going to be carefully scrutinized, and I think it’s great she’s showing this happy side. Hopefully she knows what she’s doing.
