Denise Richards blindsided by ruling that Charlie Sheen doesn’t have to pay support

Denise Richards is not having a fun fall. Last month, her oldest daughter, Sami, blamed her mother for a restrictive household and went to live with her father, Charlie Sheen. Last Monday, a judge said Charlie no longer had to pay Denise any child support. The problem is, their other daughter, Lola, 16, still lives with Denise. According to Denise’s side, Charlie has been moving this court date around for two years and sprung this latest one on Denise while she was out of town filming. Charlie’s side said Denise has been aware of it for six months.

Charlie Sheen no longer has to pay ex-wife Denise Richards child support, a court ruling that caught the actress off guard, a source says.

A judge made the decision in Los Angeles County court Monday, adjusting the child support payment to “zero dollars per month” commencing from August 1, 2018, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Sheen, 56, shares daughters Sami, 17, and Lola, 16, with Richards, 50.

Richards was not in attendance during the court proceedings. (On Instagram Friday, she wrote that she was traveling for work, explaining that “it’s hard being away from home and my family.”)

A source close to Richards told PEOPLE she was “blindsided” by the court date and ruling.

“Charlie filed two years ago and kept pushing the court date, so Denise was very surprised that it happened yesterday while she is out of town filming. She was blindsided,” the source said, further alleging, “Now he’s manipulating the situation.”

“Lola does not live with Charlie. She lives with both of her parents and stays with Charlie when Denise is out of town. When Denise is back, Lola will be with her,” the source clarified. “This is very disappointing for Denise, but also not surprising. Charlie is pitting the girls against their mother, which is horrible.”

An insider close to the situation, however, tells PEOPLE that Richards “has known about the court date for six months.”

The People article rehashes the fallout with Sami quite a bit. They included a new detail about Denise installing cameras to monitor Sami sneaking out at night. However, I don’t think those issues factor into a child support decision. Living arrangements would, though, and salaries. My assumption is that Denise is making more money than Charlie now. If Sami is living with her dad full time and Denise is earning equal or more than Charlie, then I can see why the child support was changed. I’m shocked it got adjusted to zero, though. Even if Denise wasn’t there in person, her lawyer should have been. Once again, there’s a lot of information missing from the story.

Legally, there are reasons this could have happened. However, this is Charlie Sheen we’re talking about and Denise is not as squeaky clean as we thought either. Her new husband certainly isn’t. A few things concern me. First, even though salary and Sami’s move would factor into the decision, Charlie filed this two years ago. Neither of those things were applicable back then. Second, why are Lola’s living arrangements being discounted? The friend said Charlie was “pitting the girls against their mother.” Is he taking Lola away too? I know Charlie has done a lot of work on himself, but he has lashed out at Denise and the kids in the past. Did Denise know about the court date? If he sprung this on her while she was out of town and both girls where physically under his roof, that sounds nefarious. But pop-up court dates are hard to come by in Covid times. Who knows.

Denise Richards’ daughter Sami says her mom’s house was ‘abusive’

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen have two daughters, Sami, 17, and Lola, 16. I can’t believe Sami and Lola are teens. Either I don’t follow the Sheen girls closely or they’ve been pretty good about keeping them out of the spotlight. Sami put herself in the spotlight this week, though, by making some shocking allegations against her mom. According to two TikTok videos she has since made private, Sami claimed Denise’s home was abusive and she felt trapped there. Now living with her father, Sami said she’s had a “spiritual awakening” and dropped out of high school. A source defended Denise by saying she set up normal rules but neither Sami nor Charlie wanted to follow them.

The 17-year-old daughter of exes Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen is alleging she’s moved out of a “hell house,” making claims of an “abusive household.”

In recent viral TikToks captured by the New York Post’s Page Six, Sami Sheen reportedly wrote that just one year ago she was “trapped in an abusive household [and] hated myself,” claiming that she “would go days without eating or sleeping, insanely depressed, hated school, etc….”

“Now,” she then added, according to the outlet, “finally moved out of the hell house, had a spiritual awakening, own 2 cats, happy single, full of self love, and dropped out of high school:)” The posts have since been made private.

“Sam is amazing. I love her and all my children unconditionally. We’re having a ball. GED here we come,” said Charlie via his publicist Jeff Ballard.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that Sami was living with Richards last year. “Denise set normal rules that any parent would be setting,” the source says. “She’s a mom and a parent and there are rules. She didn’t want to follow the rules.”

“Charlie didn’t support implementing Denise’s rules. He has a different way of parenting and Sami decided to live with her dad,” adds the source. “Denise loves her daughter very much and she’s saddened by the situation.”

Oof. There are so many possibilities to this one. In 2019, Denise mentioned an “obstinate daughter.” At the time, she declined to name which of her three daughters was challenging her, but this clears that up some. In that story, Denise admitted her kids would call her strict. We assumed that compared to Charlie, any parent would look strict. The question is, are Denise’s rules actually abusive or does Sami just not like them? Sami’s language is distressing, though. Not sleeping or eating because she’s so depressed is a big red flag. Page Six said that in July, Sami accused her mother of trying to kick her out of her home. However, I realize I’m taking the word of a teenager who is angry at their parent. For years we knew Denise as the strong parent who protected her kids against their father’s antics. However, there have been a few cracks in Denise’s foundation of late, mainly with her new husband who claims to be able to regenerate body parts. Maybe he’s adding to the issues at home. And maybe filming the RHOC up until last year made for a toxic environment.

As for Sami living with Charlie, which is implied in his statement, I hope it’s for the best. Charlie has shown growth since his earlier days. When he was in the thick of his addiction, it was a 10-year-old Lola he called “a f***ing pig whore” and threatened to kill her mother. So it doesn’t surprise me that Lola stayed with her mom. It also doesn’t surprise me that Charlie is laxer when it comes to the rules, even with his sobriety. If I had to guess, I’d say the issue was school. Denise touched briefly on her kids getting over involved with social media, particularly given how much their family was in the news. I’ll bet Sami hated school, wanted to drop out and Denise wouldn’t let her. But Charlie did. High school can make anything feel like hell and it would be easy to redirect those feelings on the person making you stay there.

Charlie Sheen’s kids ‘don’t want to be alone with him,’ Denise protects them

Yesterday we reported on some disturbing details in Denise Richards’s lawsuit against Charlie Sheen. Denise is seeking that Charlie either return the $7 million into a trust he raided for his daughters or give her $1.2 million to put down on a house. Charlie made that $7 million by evicting Denise from a mansion he purchased for her down the street from his house. He convinced her to move in with a sob story about rebuilding a relationship with his daughters after he learned he had HIV, only to harass and emotionally abuse her and the girls.

The lawsuit described troubling incidents in which Charlie called his youngest daughter, Lola, then nine, awful names, and threatened to kill her and Denise. Denise hired private security for protection following Charlie’s threats. Page Six has some insider quotes from Denise and Charlie’s side, and Denise’s sounds sane and concerned for her girls, of course, while Charlie’s people are defensive and question Denise’s motives. This is their only move, and given how stoic Denise has been for years it’s a lousy one.

“It’s volatile,” said a source, adding of Sheen and Richards’ children, “They’re afraid. They obviously love their dad, but they don’t feel comfortable. Stuff like that doesn’t go away overnight. They don’t want to be alone with him.”

But a pal of Sheen’s told us: “It becomes difficult because the kids want to see their dad. He wants to see them, but she doesn’t allow it unless she’s present.” The source added that Sheen was texting Richards when he sent his daughter the profane note. “[Denise] was using the kid’s phone texting Charlie and they got into a disagreement. He talks and texts with them every day.”

A Richards source countered, “Anyone with half a brain knows he’s texting his daughters,” and said Richards has “screenshots.” As far as her keeping him from the kids, “If that was the case, why would she move down the street from him? His priority was smoking crack and hookers. When you’re in that state, your kids are the furthest thing from your mind,” the friend of Richards said.

Richards’ suit isn’t helping the relationship.

“The guy has written checks. It’s not like he’s working now,” a Sheen source said. “Now would be the time to say, ‘What can I do to help you? I know times are tough.’ When he’s working, he’s the most generous person in the world.”

But a different source said of the situation: “She’s never extorted him and always forgives him. He lashes out because he can do that to her. There are very few people in his life who won’t extort him and he holds that over her head.”

The Sheen source is telling Denise to ask “how can I help you?” and complaining about Denise, when she’s still letting him text the girls and see them as long as she’s there. That’s WAY more generous than Charlie deserves. He threatened to kill them! He should have court supervised visitation at the very least, but Denise has worked with him for years and it’s only harmed her and her daughters. I’m in no way criticizing her, she tried her best to give Charlie a relationship with his girls, was pushed into a corner and is now doing what she has to do.

LeAnn Rimes has the audacity to complain about the paps acting ‘stalker-ish’

Some people think LeAnn Rimes Photoshopped herself into this photo of Eddie and his sons. Like, people are Twihard-proofing it for inconsistent shadows and weird foot placement. I don’t doubt that LeAnn Photoshops her Twitter photos and I don’t doubt that she obsesses over her public image. But looking through her Twitter photos, I kind of think this photo might be real?

Meanwhile, LeAnn did an interview with Cleveland Scene Weekly and ordinarily I wouldn’t bother with LeAnn’s local press pieces, but something about these quotes just struck me as completely delusional. She’s complaining about being pap’d without her knowledge (she lies – she calls the paps all the time) and she actually has the audacity to say that the paparazzi are acting “stalker-ish.” I sh-t you not!!!

She got pap’d and didn’t know the photographer was there: “It’s funny because someone said there was a picture of me going to the grocery store yesterday and I’m pretty aware of photographers. That’s the creepiest part, when I don’t know someone is there. I would prefer they would jump out and show themselves. It seems stalker-ish. That’s the stuff that freaks me out a little bit. Where we live, there are so many celebrities so the photographers will sit on every corner. As a woman, honestly, you just want to go to the grocery store with no makeup on and not care. That’s all I’m asking for. That would be nice.”

Child stardom: “I never had a fear of the stage because I was so young and I feel like I grew up on the stage. I didn’t know anything else. I just thought it was normal. That all seemed pretty normal to me. I’ve had a crazy whirlwind life. Some people ask me if I’m fortysomething by now, but I just tell them not to push it.”

Writing the Spitfire album: “I think the biggest challenge for me is not being moved to tears or incredible anger or whatever it might be by some of these songs. Recording the album was like a real therapy session. Now, I can make it through all of them. There are moments when a lyric will mean something more to me at that time or will click back to something else. I think that’s what’s so great about the record and about how I learned to communicate. Those are real human emotions. I think growing up, I would suppress my humanity. When you’re called a little girl with a big voice, that’s difficult. I think that’s what came across on this album was the humanity.”

LeAnn calling someone “stalk-ish” is like the pot calling the kettle a Single White Female. It’s like Charlie Sheen complaining about someone acting crackie. It’s like Lindsay Lohan telling someone they’ve had too much to drink. It’s like Ariana Grande complaining about someone else’s diva ‘tude. I go back and forth on LeAnn… does she suffer from a lack of self-awareness, or is her narcissism so all-encompassing that everything is warped in her mind?

Oh, and LeAnn will be releasing a “Christmas EP” this year. I’m not sure if we’ve really talked about it, although LeAnn has been trying to draw interest to the “EP” for months now. I imagine the EP will sell as well as Spitfire. Which is to say, it will bomb.

God, did she call the paps so that she could be photographed acting like a total SINGLE WHITE FEMALE at Brandi Glanville’s long-standing Pilates studio? LeAnn’s t-shirt reads: “DEAR HATERS! I have so much more for you to be mad at. Just be patient!” Crap, that seems like a warning.

Brooke Mueller sued by ex assistant for making him get drugs, watch her have sex

These photos are of Charlie Sheen’s latest ex wife, Brooke Mueller, at LAX on August 19th with her twin 5 year-old boys, Max and Bob. She looks sober-ish, which is promising. Brooke somehow regained custody of her boys earlier this year despite being deemed an unfit mother by the judge in her custody case less than a year prior. As background, Brooke was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold in May, 2013, and went to rehab for the 21st time (that’s a legit number, it’s not exaggerated) that June, changing facilities when the first rehab was too strict. Brooke claims that her rehab stint was successful and that she’s been sober since. (Although she’s no longer subject to drug testing at all.)

When Brooke was stripped of custody last summer, we heard that conditions in her home were “shocking,” but we didn’t get specifics. We may have some sad and disgusting details in a new lawsuit filed by her former assistant. Lior Masaphor worked for Brooke from December 2012 until March, 2013. Masaphor’s lawsuit claims that he was paid $2,400 per month, but that he worked over 130 hours a week, was not paid minimum wage or given breaks, and is owed substantial overtime. He also claims that Brooke made him engage in “illegal and unsavory activities.” Later in the lawsuit, available as a PDF on Radar Online, it states that Masaphor was just 17 years old when he worked for Brooke. Holy sh*t. Here are the relevant parts:

According to the court documents obtained by Radar, Masaphor worked over 130 hours a week for for Mueller, and was forced to “engage in repetitive illegal and unsavory actions at the specific instance and request of Brooke Mueller. These reprehensible acts in addition to those set forth, included forcing Plaintiff to act as a drug mule, forcing Plaintiff to transport illegal drugs for defendants, forcing Plaintiff to watch over Defendants children in order that Defendants could get so high as to be literally wasted and or engage in multiple sex acts with third persons literally under the nose of and in the actual presence of Plaintiff and Defendants children.”

Masaphor worked for Mueller from 2012 to 2013, and also alleges that despite what he calls a hostile work environment, he was only paid a paltry $2400 a month: Based on “simple arithmetic [he] was effectively getting paid $4.47 per hour (125 hours a week),” the documents state.

“Mueller requiring Masaphor to engage in illegal and or dangerous activities as “part of his job” created irreconcilable and irrevocable hostile work environment. Masaphor was constructively terminated from his employment as a result thereof,” the papers state.

The majority of the lawsuit is about the long hours that Masaphor worked and why he was treated illegally under California law. That one paragraph that Radar Online cited stood out for me. It’s heavily implied that Brooke’s children witnessed her having sex. (Radar is claiming that the lawsuit said the assistant had to “watch threesomes,” but that’s not what it says. “Engage in multiple sex acts with third persons” states that there was a third person, meaning one, with whom she had “multiple sex acts.” Radar and TMZ also missed the detail that this kid was 17 years old when he worked for Brooke, that’s on page 18 of the PDF.)

I really, really hope that Brooke was in another room when she was having sex and that the kids didn’t see anything, that’s awful. It’s worded in a way that suggests that things were witnessed, though, things I don’t want to think about. No wonder those kids were having so much trouble. Their mom was high on crystal meth, bringing random people into the house, and they saw things that no child should ever see. For Max and Bob’s sake, I hope Brooke is sober now and that she’s a much different person, but I doubt it. If she wasn’t rich and famous, do you think she’d even have unsupervised visits with her kids after all that?
