Anna Sawai Fashion Jane Fonda Kerry Washington Kristen Bell Michelle Yeoh SAGs

Did Anna Sawai have the best look of all of the Armani-clad women at the SAGs?

Anna Sawai has absolutely had “A Star Is Born” moment with Shogun. She has now picked up all of the major awards for her performance: Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award. She’s looked gorgeous at every award show too – designers must be fighting over the chance to dress her. Sawai wore a custom Armani look to the SAGs, and while it’s not my taste, she looks gorgeous.

Kristen Bell also wore Armani on the red carpet, but she changed as she hosted the SAGs. This feels Christmas-y to me? I also have to say… she did a great job as SAG host. I’m not really a fan, but credit where it’s due.

Kerry Washington in Armani – I loved the sparkle and the unusual turtleneck on the red carpet, but can I just say? It wasn’t very flattering through the chest, and the way she moved, I think it was probably too tight and itchy.

Michelle Yeoh in Armani – this was fine. Pretty and simple for a presenter.

And lastly, Jane Fonda in Armani. Jane won the Lifetime Achievement Award and she gave a barn-burner of a speech about seeking community and the importance of unions.

Anya Taylor Joy stunned in pink Dior, with Tiffany & Co jewels, at the 2025 Globes

People legitimately gasped when Anya Taylor Joy turned up on the Golden Globes red carpet. She just looked so other-worldly, and she also looked like a throwback to Old Hollywood. Dior made Anya a slinky, pale pink bias-cut slipdress. The real stars of the look were the Tiffany & Co necklace and the matching wrap. Bring back wraps on the red carpet! Bring back pashminas! Anya reps Dior and Tiffany & Co, and you can really see why those brands love her.

Speaking of pretty princesses, Anna Sawai also got to wear a special Dior look. Dior kept it simple for Anna with this white two-piece gown. With that immaculate face, designers don’t have to do too much, you know? They can keep everything so basic to let her shine. The choker was an interesting choice, but I like it. She was so happy with her win for Shogun.

Monica Barbaro’s dress was honestly my favorite Dior of the Globes. Again, I like the simplicity of Dior’s designs for the younger ladies, they’re not doing too much or putting younger women in fussy, overdone ballgowns. Monica is getting a lot of well-deserved attention for her turn as Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown.

Anna Sawai Emmy Awards Fashion

Anna Sawai wore Vera Wang & she’s the first Asian actress to win a lead-acting Emmy

True story: I did not watch Shōgun, but I was absolutely aware of how popular the show is and how everyone was thrilled with the latest adaptation. Critics and casual viewers were raving about it for months, and it was really cool to see the show get so much love at last night’s Emmys. Shōgun became the first Japanese-language TV show to win an Emmy for Best Drama Series, and it ended up winning 18 Emmys in total.

Anna Sawai became the first Asian actress to win an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Anna is Japanese, born in New Zealand, and she’s worked in Japanese and Western films and TV shows. I was surprised, on the red carpet, that she’s sort of adopted a flat American accent. Anyway, she’s beautiful and she wore a custom Vera Wang dress for the Emmys. She was so emotional the whole night – she cried on the red carpet, she cried during the ceremony, and she cried on stage as she accepted her Emmy. What a sweetheart.
