When I was a kid, my (Indian) hair was jet-black and pin-straight. My hair wouldn’t even “take” a curl – if I tried to curl it or crimp it (it was the ‘80s), the curl or crimp would only stick for a few minutes before reverting to its natural pin-straight existence. In my 20s and 30s, something magical happened though – natural waves, even a couple of “curls” here and there. All of which to say, I’ve slowly realized that I always wanted curly hair or naturally wavy hair. And I’m jealous of Henry Cavill’s glorious curls, even if I think he looks terrible in general.

These are photos of Henry and his wife/fiancee/partner Natalie Viscuso at the Taormina Film Festival this week. This is his natural hair, it’s not a wig (even though from the side, it looks very wiggy). He’s been growing it out for months! He made an appearance in March where his hair was this long, but he mostly kept it covered with a hat. I would imagine it’s for a role? I looked at his IMDB and he’s got tons of projects in post and pre-production.

Cavill and Natalie also welcomed their first child late last year or early this year. They never confirmed anything, probably because his fanbase already has an unhealthy interest in Natalie. I hope they’re enjoying parenthood. I’m not judging her peach sack dress – cut new moms some slack.

Henry Cavill & Natalie Viscuso welcomed their first child at some point

I totally forgot about this, but last April, Henry Cavill confirmed a rumor which was going around at the time: that he and Natalie Viscuso were expecting their first child. Henry and Natalie had, at the time, just appeared on some red carpets together and many had remarked that it looked like Natalie was in the early stages of a pregnancy. I promptly forgot about all of this, and so did a lot of people. Natalie and Henry never announced the birth when it happened, which I suspect was late last year. They just turned up in Australia over the weekend with a baby and a baby stroller. Henry’s team ended up confirming everything to People Mag.

A source tells PEOPLE that the Man of Steel star, 41, and his girlfriend have welcomed their first baby together.

No other details, including the child’s name, sex or birthdate, have been shared.

Photos published by The Daily Mail on Saturday, Jan. 18, show Cavill and Viscuso pushing a baby stroller in Australia.

The actor is currently in the country to film the upcoming live-action Voltron movie.

Congrats to them! Henry famously has four brothers, so I am wondering whether they got a boy or a girl. Would Henry even know how to raise a daughter? I would love to know the name too, but I bet it’s probably boring. They don’t seem like the type to name their kid Lettuce or Harleigh Basquiat. If it’s a girl, maybe Elizabeth or Jane? For a boy, something British-y, like Rupert or Simon. Also: the Mail says that Henry and Natalie are engaged, but given how quiet they’ve been in the past year, I would not be surprised if we eventually learn that they quietly got married at some point. They’ve been together for years now!

Henry Cavill brought his girlfriend of three years to the London ‘Argylle’ premiere

Here are some photos from last night’s London premiere of Argylle. I couldn’t even make it through the trailer, but from what I gather, it’s Matthew Vaughn’s latest attempt at a glossy-yet-quirky action film full of British actors. He’s still trying to recreate the magic of Layer Cake (his first film) but nothing will ever touch it, honestly. Argylle is so full of celebrities, I couldn’t even fit all of the premiere photos in this post.

One big headline is that Henry Cavill brought his girlfriend to the premiere, a fact which I’m sure will upset the Cavill-cade or whatever his fans call themselves. Cavill has been with Natalie Viscuso for something like three years, and this isn’t the first time they’ve walked a carpet together. It feels like his fans aren’t in a full-blown panic about Natalie anymore, which is nice. Hopefully everyone has chilled out. They look nice together and three years together isn’t bad at all. Her ensemble is…not my jam. It feels very bridal in a weird way and that coat is just awful. Cavill always looks like a casino pit boss whenever he wears a suit.

Other photos…Dua Lipa looked fantastic, and I’m loving this hair color on her. Claudia Schiffer (Matthew Vaughn’s wife) looked beautiful and she got to carry the “cat backpack,” which is something significant in the film. Bryce Dallas Howard looked SO GOOD in that striking green gown. That’s one of the best things she’s ever worn!! Bonus pics of Sam Rockwell and Mark Strong (Strong looked delicious).

Henry Cavill: ‘I will, after all, not be returning as Superman’

Hey, remember when I told you I was happy Henry Cavill was returning as Superman? And thank goodness because of the nonsense that had him leaving The Witcher and being replaced by Liam Hemsworth? Yeah, well… my bad. Both James Gunn and Henry told fans yesterday that although everyone still loves each other (uh-huh) Henry is not coming back as Superman. The hell?!

Those two people did not attend the same meeting. Henry sounds disappointed, as he should be. Not only was he asked to return, he was told to announce it. This is the second franchise that he cared about that he is being screwed out of. It’s pretty clear that he left The Witcher due to the show’s refusal to stick with the source material. But at least he had Superman to fall back on. Except that now they’ve gone in a different direction on Superman. I’m not worried about Henry, he has more in him than the DC franchise. He’ll be fine. But after all the love he got when he announced his return, not to mention psyching himself up to take on the Superman mantle once again, this must have been a heavy blow.

And James sounds positively gleeful about ripping the job away from Henry. What future projects will they include Henry in? He can’t be another superhero, because we will only see him as Superman wearing another guy’s cape. I realize Gunn is capable of other subjects, but let’s face it, DC is going to be his focus for a bit. This sucks. Not to mention we don’t need another G-D origin story on Superman. It would be infinitely more interesting to watch these superheroes, especially those who yield the amount of power Superman does, to exist in the world we live in today. What about Superman in the world of Covid, a situation he actually could not save? Superman at full power but helpless – that’s a story I want to see. But no. We’re just going to erase and start again. I guess casting for a new Lex Luther is coming next. *yawn*

Enola Holmes 2 is already out on Netflix! I will watch it this weekend, eagerly, because I loved the first one. Millie Bobby Brown is the lead, Enola Holmes, the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. The first movie was about Enola figuring out her place in the world and problem-solving without her mom and solving her first case. In the second film, she’s set herself up as a detective in London, just like Sherlock. Henry Cavill returns to the role of older-brother Sherlock, and apparently a big chunk of the movie hinges on their relationship. Millie and director Harry Bradbeer spoke with Deadline this week about the film, and Millie’s quotes about Henry Cavill are going viral. Some highlights from Deadline:

MBB on being undermined & underestimated in the industry: “I think the industry can easily have its faults and its great accomplishments. This is one of them. Yes, of course I’ve been undermined in the past, but we don’t focus on those things. We focus on the positives, and I have not been undermined in this situation. I was given an opportunity to be a female lead in a film. And that is a step forward.”

Who is the least likely to “break” on set? “I would say Henry. Henry is a problem solver. He’s a very rational man. Me, I’m a bit manic. I’ll try everything in order to solve something. Whereas he usually just gets it dead on right.”

MBB on how good Cavill was acting with a young actress: “It’s shocking because he doesn’t have any sisters. So, for him, it must be completely different. I have a sister, a brother, and an older brother. So, I’m very much used to that kind of dynamic. I had to implement a lot of that into my relationship with Henry offscreen and onscreen and just pull him out of his comfort zone.

The difference between her working relationship with Henry Cavill vs. Stranger Things’ Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton: “It’s different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie. I met them when I was 10. So, for me, it does feel like your schoolmates. And with Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship. Like a really good friendship, a really healthy one. One that we have terms and conditions. I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me. I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life. It’s like, “Millie, shut up. No.” And I’m like “Understood.” Whereas with the Stranger Things kids, it’s different. There’s no boundaries because it’s like we’re all siblings. But with Henry, he’s very strict with me, which I appreciate.

People are bringing up the fact that in 2018, when Millie was 14 years old, she repeatedly talked about how she was/is “close friends” with Drake, who was 31 years old at the time. Drake is gross though, and he has a history of grooming teenagers and I still believe that was what happened there. I don’t think that’s what Millie is saying here – she’s 18 years old and I suspect she’s saying that Henry Cavill treated her with respect, like she was a grown-up actress and colleague. Then she would ask him about his romantic life and he would remember how young she is and he would shut it down. It sounds like Cavill was enforcing healthy and professional boundaries with a young colleague? But what do I know.

Liam Hemsworth is replacing Henry Cavill in The Witcher season four

It took me a second to get the timeline on this news straight. Henry Cavill is the lead in the Netflix limited series, The Witcher, which is based on a book series. It’s a supernatural story and he plays a monster hunter. The first season aired in 2019, the second in 2021, and the third will air sometime in 2023. However, they’ve already announced a casting shakeup for the fourth (2025, then?) season. Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in the lead role. Hm.

Netflix has renewed The Witcher for a fourth season with a twist.

Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in the epic drama series, taking the reins as Geralt of Rivia.

The move comes ahead of the third season of the series, which will return in summer 2023. A four-part prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin launches December 25, 2022.

Cavill, who revealed earlier this week he will return in the role of Superman, played the grim Geralt of Rivia, the bane of supernatural beasties in the first three seasons of the drama series.

Hemsworth, who is best known for starring in the Hunger Games franchise, recently starred in Quibi drama Most Dangerous Game. He will take over as Geralt of Rivia in what is believed to be a rich deal.

According to sources, Cavill had made a short-term deal for The Witcher and felt it was time to move on after three seasons on the show, which films overseas and has a demanding production schedule. He already has film and TV projects lined up, including the just announced The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare, in addition to the Superman return. Cavill’s Witcher co-stars renegotiated their contracts heading into Season 4, sources said.

Cavill said, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.”

Hemsworth added, “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

So sources are blaming the switch on Henry’s schedule. They say production on The Witcher is demanding, he had a short-term deal, and he is super busy and felt it was time to move on. And the latter is at least partially true, since Henry recently confirmed he’s returning as Superman. Because of all that, I was honestly surprised that he was in a Netflix series (not a movie, a series) to begin with, but it turns out he lobbied for the role because he loved the source material. Henry was so into the source material that it became a source of conflict between him and the showrunners because he wanted to stick to it and they did not. Apparently, he wanted more dialogue to keep his character consistent with the books/games and they had a different vision for the character. Like, perhaps a vision of a strong, but silent hottie who doesn’t make waves? Liam Hemsworth definitely fits the bill; he’s probably just happy to have a job. Henry had previously said he was committed to the series’ seven-season plan so something must have happened to push him out and it probably wasn’t just Superman. (And it’s not the House of the Dragon wishful thinking casting either.)

I loooooved the first Enola Holmes movie. It was so clever and such a perfect edition to the Sherlock Holmes universe. The story is basically that Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes have a much-younger sister, Enola, who is a brilliant crime-solver and adventurer in her own way. Henry Cavill played Sherlock and Sam Claflin played Mycroft. Millie Bobby Brown was perfect and adorable as Enola, and she did an amazing job carrying the first film. The first film was such a success that Netflix greenlighted a sequel, and MBB and Cavill have returned for a new adventure. It doesn’t look like Claflin returned, but Helena Bonham Carter is back as Eudoria Holmes (the mother), and they’ve added some new cast members.

Last night was the big premiere and everyone kept it cute. This was the first time that Henry Cavill has walked a red carpet with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso. I’m not entirely sure when Henry and Viscuso started dating, but they became Instagram-official in April 2021. As soon as she appeared on his IG, his fans got really creepy about her and Cavill even stepped in to tell people to chill the f–k out. I imagine we’ll get another round of that now that they’re red-carpet official. Hey, at least he’s not dating another college student.

Here’s Millie with her boyfriend Jake Bongiovi. Her dress is Louis Vuitton – I don’t hate the pale pink with the black floral stuff, but I want to “fix” everything with that neckline and halter. Poorly cut. I wonder if she’s growing out her hair?
