Cannes: Scarlett Johansson wore an impeccable Prada at the ‘Eleanor’ premiere

Last night, Scarlett Johansson premiered her directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, at the Cannes Film Festival. Scarlett directed June Squibb and Erin Kellyman, and they were both there for the premiere. Scarlett’s husband Colin Jost also came out for the premiere. Let’s talk about Colin’s fashion first – Colin seems to do a lot of chest and arm work, which is great, but that means he looks sort of foolish wearing a slim-cut double-breasted suit or tuxedo? He should either go with a slim-cut single-breasted suit (if his goal is showing off his chest and arms) or go with a boxy double-breasted jacket. As for Scarlett, she wore a custom Prada in a pale blue. As I went through the photos, I looked at all of the angles of the gown – it really is tailored beautifully for Scarlett’s figure. Her red lipstick pops too.

Jodie Foster skipped her usual Armani and went with Loewe to the ‘Vie Privée’ premiere. I’m not a fan of any of it??

Georgina Chapman and Adrien Brody were out in Cannes last night as well. I’m still mad that he won his second Oscar, and I’m still mad about his long-ass speech. Georgina wore an archive Marchesa… remember when half the girls at any award show wore dresses like this? It’s giving me nostalgia.

Eva Herzigova wore one of the funniest looks of the festival – this is Balenciaga. I’m calling it the “boob bell dress.”

Emma Stone wore a low-key Louis Vuitton to the VF Oscar party: super-cute?

I’ve seen a few pieces already about people being “mad” about Emma Stone’s Oscar win over Lily Gladstone. While (again) I thought Lily came into the awards season as the favorite and she really had a shot at it, Emma’s balls-to-the-wall performance in Poor Things, combined with a great, breezy, fun Oscar campaign, all equaled a “surprise win” for Emma. All I’m saying is that I’m not mad about it. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. These are pics of Emma at the Vanity Fair Oscar party – she wore another custom Louis Vuitton look. This looks baggy and comfortable! That’s her very tall husband Dave.

Lily Gladstone changed for the VF Oscar party and I didn’t get the sense that she was moping in a corner somewhere. Reportedly, she was enjoying the parties, networking and staying booked and busy. Good for her.

Charlize Theron wore Dior to the VF party – this is so much better than her Oscar dress, omg. The hair is still a tragedy though.

Georgina Chapman & Adrien Brody – I can’t believe they’re still together!

Pamela Anderson was fresh-faced in Oscar de la Renta. This is honestly one of my favorite looks of the VF party.

Cynthia Erivo in custom Louis Vuitton – blah, but I rarely think she’s styled well.

Zooey Deschanel in kind of a mod-print. I like it, it feels very ‘70s.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore Carolina Herrera at the Red Sea film festival: Big Bird-esque?

In recent years, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has tried to diversify their business portfolio beyond “oil.” The United Arab Emirates figured that out long ago as well, with Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar successfully sportswashing their oil-rich portfolios and creating a huge Middle East tourism boom out of nowhere. So Saudi Arabia is trying to follow that path, attempting to invest in the PGA tour and the international tennis tours, and trying like hell to sign Leo Messi. But it’s not all sportswashing – the Saudis now host the Red Sea Film Festival, where American and international celebrities are invited to travel to Jeddah to promote their films, participate in Q&A sessions about their careers and more. I would imagine a nice appearance fee comes with the invitation.

All of which to say, I’ve been surprised to see just how many celebrities went to Jeddah this year for the film festival. Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Henry Golding, Andrew Garfield, Sharon Stone and many more came out this year. The photos in this post are from the closing ceremony. How much did these people get paid? I wouldn’t imagine that Gwyneth would fly to Saudi Arabia for anything less than seven figures. Fashion notes: Gwyneth’s gown is Carolina Herrera’s Resort 2024; Halle wore Elie Saab; I assume Georgina Chapman is wearing Marchesa; Freida Pinto’s red gown is so unflattering!

During her Q&A session, Gwyneth confessed: “I’ve never seen Endgame. I’ve never seen any of these. I can’t keep track. I probably should at some point.” It’s rude but it’s also really funny how little she gives a sh-t about the massive franchise she was part of.

Naomi Osaka in custom Louis Vuitton at the Met Gala: amazing or meh?

Naomi Osaka was one of the co-chairs of the Met Gala, and she ended up wearing one of her sponsors, Louis Vuitton (she’s a brand ambassador). The ensemble was co-designed by her sister, Mari Osaka, but Naomi’s date was Cordae, her boyfriend. This surprised me! There’s been low-key gossip online that part of the reason why Osaka was out-of-sorts during the North American hardcourt tournaments was because she and Cordae had perhaps broken up. But I guess not. They didn’t coordinate looks though! As for Naomi’s look… it was a lot of styling, especially with the hair and the pink makeup smeared all over her eyes and cheeks.

Adrian Brody & Georgina Chapman walked the carpet together in Cannes a few months ago and people were fine with it, so they decided to go to the Met Gala together too. They really seem like an odd couple, and yet they make a lot of sense? It’s weird.

Harvey Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape in the state of New York. The state of New York is going to extradite him to California at some point so he can stand trial for eleven counts of sexual assault. My point? He’s a 69 year old man in poor health and he’s going to die in prison. That won’t change the pain and trauma he caused so many women, but it is something. While he sat there in prison, his lawyers had to work out his divorce from Georgina Chapman. I’m sure there are legal reasons (like Harvey’s victims suing his estate) why there was apparently some kind of fight about money and property, but Georgina walked away with some big assets and full custody of their children.

Georgina Chapman has officially finalized her divorce from Harvey Weinstein, The Post has learned. The couple’s contested divorce in Manhattan Supreme Court was finalized this week and online court records show the case is now listed as “disposed” after a final, sealed motion was filed Monday, according to records and sources.

Weinstein, 69, and Chapman, 45, share two children — India, 10, and Dashiell, 8 — and married in 2007 after meeting each other at a party. The former pair reached a divorce settlement in January 2018 that required the fallen Hollywood titan to pay his ex between $15 million to $20 million and give up custody of his kids, a source previously confirmed. The ex’s prenuptial agreement stated Weinstein must pay Chapman $300,000 in spousal support for each year of marriage and after a decade, the figure jumps to $400,000. The settlement came just as the couple was reaching their ten-year anniversary.

Chapman also secured a slice of the marital assets, like their $15 million West Village townhouse and $12 million Hamptons beach house, and other payments, sources previously said.

I wonder if Chapman had not filed for divorce, all of those assets would have been hers as his wife anyway? Like, unless he explicitly kept her out of all of their finances during their marriage, she would have already “owned” that real estate and all of investments, etc. But, again, she would see all of their fortune looted by all of Weinstein’s crushing legal fees and such. Chapman really got out while the getting was good. She walked away with a sizable settlement, her business (Marchesa) free and clear, two pieces of prime real estate and full custody of their children, all while her ex rots in prison.

Georgina joined her boyfriend Adrien Brody in Cannes this week. Considering Cannes was one of Weinstein’s favorite hunting grounds, there’s an ick factor to these photos.
