Cristin Milioti finally won an Emmy last night for ‘The Penguin’

One of the highlights of the Emmys was Cristin Milioti’s win for outstanding lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie for The Penguin. I was surprised at how genuinely effusive she was during her acceptance speech, just because I associate her with her stoic character Sofia Falcone in The Penguin. The whole room was also elated for her, and she’s been getting awards buzz for that role for ages. It’s kind of unknown whether there will be a second season of The Penguin, although the showrunner seems open to it.

Cristin was so pretty in a scarlet Danielle Frankel gown with a structured top. I love this trend of straight severe necklines, it looks so cool. I really like the delicately gathered asymmetric bodice and the slight train. These are subtle, thoughtful details.

Meghann Fahy was also nominated in this category, for Sirens. She was lovely in a black velvet Valentino with shoulder pads and a deep bustline. This is drama and she looks gorgeous. She’s giving vintage Michelle Pfeiffer.

Rashida Jones was also nominated in this category, for Black Mirror. That’s such a good series but every episode I’ve seen apart from San Junipero has traumatized me somewhat and I love horror. It just hits too close to home. Rashida was in custom Dior styled by Brad Goreski. This dress looks better in motion.

Cristin Milioti Fashion Monica Barbaro Nicola Coughlan Pamela Anderson SAGs

Who had the best Dior look at the SAGs: Nicola Coughlan or Monica Barbaro?

This post is for all of the ladies in Dior at last night’s SAG Awards. I’m usually such a Dior-hater for award shows, but I have to admit… Dior did the thing for the SAGs. All of the women they dressed looked amazing, and these are some of my picks for best-dressed of the show. Nicola Coughlan, a short queen, wore a very vintage-inspired look which looked great on her. I could have done without the gloves, honestly, but this was lovely and I’m so happy that Dior dressed her!

Monica Barbaro got a fantastic Dior – she’s really having a moment during this awards season, and she’s actually dating Andrew Garfield now. Every time I see her seated at the same table as Timothee Chalamet, I do a double-take because she looks so much like Kylie Jenner too.

Cristin Milioti got a great Dior look too. She’s getting so much attention because of The Penguin (which I never started, but I heard she was great in it).

And finally, Pamela Anderson also wore Dior. She’s worn a lot of soft-cream and winter-white looks this year and she’s still doing the no-makeup or minimal-makeup look.

Jodie Foster won Best Actress in a Limited Series for True Detective at the 2025 Globes

I would guess that the Best Actress in a Limited Series category was very tight, although admittedly I’ve only seen one of the shows in full, True Detective: Night Country. I really despised Jodie Foster’s character and was kind of mad at her, which always makes me think that the actor embodied the role, you know? When I hate them I know they’re doing their job well. I don’t have a designer ID on Jodie’s lovely black sheath gown yet, but it has pockets! I like how classic and comfortable it looks. Jodie’s speech was so tight and fun to watch. She started by talking about her community and giving a shout out to Sofia Vergara, who had just lost in that category and shouted out “give me one.” The vibe at the Globes last night was very casual.

Sofia was nominated for Griselda. She was in Georges Chakra, in a gown we’ve seen hehr wear in so many variations over the years. She knows what works for her and she looks gorgeous. I know she’s living her best life. I guess I feel kind of protective of her after knowing so much about her love life.

Cristin Milioti embodies the anti hero in this killer black velvet gown with a spiky sequin bustline. A lot of people are saying she was robbed of a Globe last night. I’ve only seen a couple episodes of The Penguin, but wow can she act. I know we’ll be seeing more of her. Look at her syling too! Kudos to her whole team.

Kate Winslet was in this crisp white and black embellished Erdem suit. We need more suits on the red carpet. She was nominated in this category for The Regime, which I don’t think a lot of people saw. I didn’t hear too much about it other than the initial buzz. Don’t make fun of me, but I finally watched The Holiday this season. I don’t know what took me so long, it was such a sweet entertaining film.

My girl Naomi Watts was in a formitting Schiaparelli gown with a weird half moon half straight hem. Somehow this works, maybe it’s because I have so much affection for her. She makes me want to get a blunt bob. Naomi was nominated for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans. Her husband Billy Crudup’s beard is a real choice. I couldn’t figure out if it’s for a role or not. I hope so.
