This week, we learned that Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara are having a summer fling. There are so many celebrities vacationing in Europe right now, and apparently Tom and Sofia are spending time together in Ibiza, although it definitely sounds like Sofia is in Ibiza with a larger group of friends. Page Six made it sound like a summer fling, as did TMZ’s sources. TMZ stressed that Tom and Sofia are not “dating” and they both consider themselves single, but they’re having some fun.

Well, on the heels of TMZ and Page Six’s reporting, the Daily Mail carried this exclusive: “Tom Brady thinks Sofia Vergara is ‘too OLD’: Friends tell all the mortifying details as ‘summer romance’ collapses… and reveal the behavior he can’t handle.” I’ll spare you any excerpts from the piece. What surprised me about it was that Brady’s people immediately came out with a denial for that specific story though:

Tom Brady “would never” say that he thinks Sofia Vergara, 53, is “too old” for him, a representative for the former quarterback, 47, tells PEOPLE, in denial of a recent report.

“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this. It is pure fiction,” his rep says.

Speculation about the duo first surfaced when it was noted the two were seen getting friendly during a recent A-list outing aboard Ritz Carlton’s new superyacht, the Luminara, in early July.

Page Six reported that an insider said Brady asked if he could sit next to the Modern Family actress at dinner. Soon after that night, Vergara shared a photo of the pair to her Instagram. In the snap, she and Brady are seated next to one another, as singer J Balvin stops by and kisses the Griselda star’s forehead. In the photo, she’s laughing with her eyes closed as Brady smiles at the camera.

I was wrong about Tom Brady, I admit that. I thought that after Tom and Gisele Bundchen’s divorce was finalized, Tom would do that thing which many newly divorced men do: quickly find a much younger girlfriend and settle down. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see post-divorce Tom really spend time alone, and he’s been focusing a lot on spending more time with his kids. Yes, he’s been dating this whole time, but it’s never been anything serious, nor has Tom gone full mid-life crisis. Well, Tom is currently enjoying a summer vacation in Ibiza… with Sofia Vergara! Tom and Sofia are apparently having a summer romance.

Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara are enjoying the single life — with each other! The retired NFL star and the bombshell “Modern Family” actress have been spending time together in Ibiza, Spain, and a source described the situation to Page Six as a “summer romance.”

It all started about a week ago on the Luminara superyacht — launched by the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection — with A-list guests including Martha Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner, Kate Hudson, Colman Domingo and the flirtatious duo, among others.

The two-night luxury voyage set sail from Rome, Italy, and included drone shows and performances by Ellie Goulding, Sting and Janelle Monae. Guests also included Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tessa Thompson, singer Anitta and Brady’s past supermodel fling, Irina Shayk, we’re told.

Brady and Vergara, however, were apparently googly-eyed over each other at one of the gala dinners aboard the yacht. The two were photographed sitting next to each other, and a source familiar with the situation told us their cozy-looking seating arrangement wasn’t happenstance.

“He asked to switch seats to sit next to her at dinner,” a source told Page Six. We’re told Brady, 47, and Vergara, who turns 53 on Thursday, continued hanging out in Ibiza after the yacht trip.

Vergara has been documenting her summer fun by posting sexy shots in Walmart bikinis, and also showed off videos in which she danced to music by celeb DJ Calvin Harris. She has not shared any romantic outings with Brady thus far, and reps for the stars did not comment.

If you look through Sofia’s recent Instagram posts, you can see that she’s been enjoying her summer vacation too, with a diverse group of girlfriends. I could see Sofia hooking up with Tom Brady for a brief fling, but her priority is definitely “spending time with her friends and enjoying herself.” She’s not looking for anything more than some quick fun! I enjoy the age-appropriateness of this match too! Anyway, Tom is really surprising me.

Jodie Foster won Best Actress in a Limited Series for True Detective at the 2025 Globes

I would guess that the Best Actress in a Limited Series category was very tight, although admittedly I’ve only seen one of the shows in full, True Detective: Night Country. I really despised Jodie Foster’s character and was kind of mad at her, which always makes me think that the actor embodied the role, you know? When I hate them I know they’re doing their job well. I don’t have a designer ID on Jodie’s lovely black sheath gown yet, but it has pockets! I like how classic and comfortable it looks. Jodie’s speech was so tight and fun to watch. She started by talking about her community and giving a shout out to Sofia Vergara, who had just lost in that category and shouted out “give me one.” The vibe at the Globes last night was very casual.

Sofia was nominated for Griselda. She was in Georges Chakra, in a gown we’ve seen hehr wear in so many variations over the years. She knows what works for her and she looks gorgeous. I know she’s living her best life. I guess I feel kind of protective of her after knowing so much about her love life.

Cristin Milioti embodies the anti hero in this killer black velvet gown with a spiky sequin bustline. A lot of people are saying she was robbed of a Globe last night. I’ve only seen a couple episodes of The Penguin, but wow can she act. I know we’ll be seeing more of her. Look at her syling too! Kudos to her whole team.

Kate Winslet was in this crisp white and black embellished Erdem suit. We need more suits on the red carpet. She was nominated in this category for The Regime, which I don’t think a lot of people saw. I didn’t hear too much about it other than the initial buzz. Don’t make fun of me, but I finally watched The Holiday this season. I don’t know what took me so long, it was such a sweet entertaining film.

My girl Naomi Watts was in a formitting Schiaparelli gown with a weird half moon half straight hem. Somehow this works, maybe it’s because I have so much affection for her. She makes me want to get a blunt bob. Naomi was nominated for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans. Her husband Billy Crudup’s beard is a real choice. I couldn’t figure out if it’s for a role or not. I hope so.

Sofia Vergara spent the better part of a decade with two different men who were hellbent on putting a baby in her. The first was Nick Loeb, who spent years post-split trying to get “custody” of the embryos they created while they were engaged. Then there was Joe Manganiello, who seemingly married Sofia knowing that she wasn’t interested in having another child (her son Manolo is in his 30s). I tend to believe that Joe was fine with not having children with Sofia… until he wasn’t. Until he changed his mind at some point, and the marriage fell apart. Sofia has explained her point of view in a few interviews since then, that at 51, she just thinks she’s too old to be a mother again and she doesn’t want to be an “old mom.” Sofia covers People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Issue, and she once again spoke about the baby issue.

She loves being older: “I think now that I’m older, it’s great because you know exactly what you like. I just do what makes me feel confident and beautiful. I’ve never really cared that much about what people think. But now I really care less.”

She adores her son Manolo: “It is great that I had him young, because now I’m going to be 52, and he’s 32. I wish I was older sometimes, because I would’ve been more mature, more prepared to be a mother, but that was what I got and what happened. So I just kept going and try not to look back at it, because it is what it is. But it is fun because I kind of grew up together with my son.”

Not wanting to have another child is what caused her divorce from Joe: “There’s things in life that might sound like good ideas, but they’re not. I was a mother already. I know what it means to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother that you can, and that takes a lot of sacrifices, takes a lot of energy.”

Her thoughts on older motherhood: Now, “thanks to science, women can actually have babies older. Before, nature for some reason tells your body at 50 you are in menopause, it’s time for you to be done with that. There is a reason why nature is doing that. But that’s for me, and I totally respect where anyone wants to be a mom after 50. I didn’t think because of my career, the way I live my life, the way my marriage was, that it was fair to bring a kid to this world, and I’m not going to be able to give 100 percent.”

I’m live-and-let-live about older motherhood, and that’s the modern trend as well, for women to become mothers later and later. If that’s what you want, go for it and god bless. But as I get older, I understand why women in their late 30s, 40s and 50s are saying “no mas, I’m not doing it.” Like, going through all of that for the first, second or third time in your late 40s? Again, if that’s what you want, God bless. But it just seems so tough. I also understand what Sofia is saying – she was a young mother, she knows how difficult it is and she simply never wanted to do it all over again.

Sofia Vergara goes Instagram official with doctor boyfriend after her knee surgery

Last fall, a newly single Sofia Vergara was spotted out on a dinner date with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. Saliman, who used to be married to The Ugly Truth star Bree Turner, invented the NovoStitch Pro Meniscal Repair System, which repairs knee joints. He sold that technology for $105 million in 2019. He’s also the grandson of one of the dudes who helped build the Hoover Dam. Things got somewhat quiet after their date, and their status was unknown until Sofia told Jimmy Fallon back in January that she was single and looking forward to dating the non-showbiz men of New York City. Everyone just assumed that it hadn’t worked out or perhaps they were keeping it casual.

It looks like Sofia and Justin reconnected at some point because not only are they back together, but they’re also now Instagram official! Sofia had knee surgery recently and posted a picture of her hot doctor boyfriend at her bedside (which technically looked more like a couch side). The caption read, “If u ever get a [major] knee surgery make sure u Geta handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night…!” Noted.

Sofía Vergara is in recovery! The Modern Family alum, 51, revealed on her Instagram Stories on Friday, April 12, that she underwent knee surgery — and was being cared for by her new boyfriend, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman.

“If u ever get a [major] knee surgery make sure u Get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night… ! Luv u,” the actress captioned a photo of Saliman smiling while wearing dark blue medical scrubs.

On her Instagram Stories on Saturday, April 13, while resting, she shared a video of a gag gift her fellow America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel got her. It appeared to be some kind of electric pogo stick.

She jokingly cursed out Mandel, 68, and then tagged him in an image of herself. Vergara was lounging on her couch in a bright magenta robe, with her leg in a complex knee brace. A dog was sitting on her lap.

As for her new relationship, Vergara — who announced her divorce from Joe Manganiello in July 2023 — was first spotted with Saliman in October 2023.

“She is enjoying life. She seems positive and full of energy,” a source told PEOPLE after their first date. “Sofía has been handling the divorce well. It wasn’t an easy decision, but she is doing great now.”

The insider added that the Griselda star was “dating and having fun” at the time.

Hey, good for Sofia! I wish her nothing but happiness and am sure that Dr. Justin is taking very good care of her. I also hope her surgery went well! Hopefully, it wasn’t for anything too serious and she’ll have a quick recovery time. The extent of my knowledge about knee surgery is about the recovery process, actually. One summer while home from college, I worked the front desk at a physical therapy practice and they were always stressing how important it was to your recovery to make sure you do the exercises prescribed. Just like a music teacher with a student who doesn’t practice, these PTs always knew when someone wasn’t doing their exercises at home. I am sure that won’t be a problem for Sofia, especially if she’s sleeping with an orthopedic surgeon and has access to great PTs. Here’s to a speedy recovery for Sofia. We need new date night pictures now that we know they’re a thing.

Many of us were surprised last summer when Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara announced their separation. They ended up filing for divorce, and everything was finalized quickly (they had a prenup), Joe got custody of Sofia’s dog Bubbles and I think Joe walked away with a couple of million. One of the main issues, as it turned out, was that Joe wanted to become a father and Sofia simply wasn’t into it. She’s already a mom, and her son is already 32 years old (she had Manolo when she was 19). Sofia never really talked about that side of her divorce before now, but she’s currently promoting her Netflix miniseries Griselda, and she ended up addressing it with El Pais:

Sofía Vergara is confirming that Joe Manganiello’s desire to have children led to their divorce.

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom,” the actress, 51, recently told El País. “I feel it’s not fair to the baby.”

The “Modern Family” star made sure to note that although she “respect[s]” those who wish to welcome children later in life, the path is just “not for [her] anymore.”

“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” she explained of Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, whom she shares with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez.

“I’m almost in menopause; it’s the natural way of things,” she said, adding, “When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do.”

But make no mistake; Sofía is open to love again — as long as her next romantic partner has kids of his own. The Emmy Award nominee debuted her relationship with an orthopedic surgeon named Justin Saliman in October 2023. It’s unclear whether he has children.

I feel sorry for her a little bit because this was her second relationship in a row which ended because she basically didn’t want to be a mother again. I think she believed that Joe was fine with it and maybe he was… until he wasn’t. But Sofia has every right to feel this way and if she didn’t want to go through the whole baby rigamarole thing in her late 40s, so be it. That’s her choice.

Sofia Vergara sued by Griselda Blanco’s family for using her image without permission

Sofia Vergara is starring as the late, real-life former drug lord Griselda Blanco in the upcoming Netflix series Griselda. Blanco, who was also known as the “Cocaine Godmother,” immigrated to Miami, Florida from Colombia in 1964. She began a successful cocaine operation that led her to reign over the Miami drug trade. (Note to anyone who has read The Thursday Murder Club series: I know they are nothing alike, but now whenever I read about a cocaine Queenpin, I can only picture Connie in my mind, lol.)

The first of six episodes of Griselda was set to drop on Thursday, January 25. Vergara, who is also a producer, has been heavily promoting the series. However, this premiere date is now in jeopardy because Netflix and Vergara are being sued by Blanco’s family for using their image and likeness without permission. Her last surviving son, named – I kid you not – Michael Corleone Blanco alleges that he’d been sharing stories with parties interested in giving his mom’s story the Hollywood treatment up until 2022. According to Mikey C, Netflix told him that they wouldn’t use any of these stories. They did anyway. Oops!

In the lawsuit, Blanco’s son reportedly said that he’d been shopping around his and his mother’s life stories since 2009 in the hopes of developing them into a production. Netflix expressed interest during that time, he said. The son, who has previously shared tales about his mother in multiple public interviews, alleged that the streamer said it wouldn’t utilize any of his anecdotes. But the upcoming series heavily relies on them anyway, he claimed, adding that he did not receive any compensation.

According to the lawsuit, the Blanco children are seeking a court injunction to prevent the show’s release. Representatives for Netflix and Vergara did not immediately reply to HuffPost’s requests for comment.

Vergara recently sat down with ET to discuss her portrayal of Blanco, describing her as “a complex person.”

“There are so many nuances to explore in terms of who she was as a drug lord and, of course, as a woman, as a mother,” said Vergara, who herself is Colombian. “She was someone who did whatever it took to protect her family. I really wanted to explore that from the point of view of, you know, of her being one of the only women in history to have gone as far as she did.”

Blanco was reportedly one of the first Colombian women to traffic cocaine into the U.S. She spent years behind bars for drug trafficking and three murders. But some suspected that she was linked to dozens more killings, if not hundreds.

Blanco was also a focus of 2006’s cult-classic documentary “Cocaine Cowboys.” She was shot dead in 2012.

I’m always kinda struck by these types of lawsuits. Well, not the lawsuits themselves, but by the fact that production companies will use images or personal stories about their subject without the necessary permission. On one hand, wouldn’t it be easy enough to write a check and get permission? But on the other hand, is there any kind of legal document that Michael Blanco should have signed ahead of time to make sure Netflix didn’t do him dirty? I think US copyright laws probably would indicate that Michael gave permission by consenting to the interview because nothing he said was copyrighted, but I’d love to hear more about this area of law from any experts out there. I do know that companies will steal ideas from people they interview from jobs and, other than not just answering those types of interview questions, there’s not much you can do about it. Either way, I have a feeling that Michael and Netflix will probably work something out that (hopefully) fairly compensates him. Griselda sounds like she was a fascinating and powerful woman who is about to gain a whole new generation of notoriety.
