Lamar Odom, known to some as a basketball player, known to the rest as Khloe Kardashian‘s husband, disappeared for about 3 days. During this time, it was strongly suspected that Odom was on some sort of drug binge and needed help. TMZ reported his disappearance. Today, his agent says Odom is not missing and is in a hotel. Free-agent forward Lamar Odom is in a Los Angeles hotel, where friends are trying to get him help for an unspecified drug problem, a source told ESPN on Monday.
The information comes after Odom’s agent refuted a TMZ report Sunday that his client had been missing for 72 hours after a dispute with his wife, Khloe Kardashian. Agent Jeff Schwartz would not reveal Odom’s whereabouts, telling ESPN.com’s Marc Stein earlier Monday: “Lamar is not missing. His wife knows exactly where he is.”
So what happened? Why all the mystery? Why is he not at home? TMZ reports that he is coping with a crack addiction and that Khloe and he are separated for now. From TMZ:
Khloe Kardashian kept Lamar Odom’s crack addiction secret from her entire family for most of her marriage … Sources connected to the family tell us … Khloe did not want to burden her family and jeopardize the Kardashian machine by telling the brood about Lamar’s drug issues. We’re told Kourtney and Kim Kardashian learned of Lamar’s addiction “very recently.”
We’re told Kris Jenner has known about it for a longer period of time, but was still kept in the dark for many months.
They followed that up with,
Khloe Kardashian has met with Lamar Odom … and she is desperately trying to save his life …
Sources familiar with the situation tell us, Khloe found Lamar and drove to see him at an undisclosed location.
We’re told Khloe has not given up on Lamar although she says she will never get back with him until he’s clean. On the other hand, we’ve learned she has taken no steps to file for divorce because she believes there’s still a chance Lamar can be saved. (TMZ).
Well, yikes. How awful is Kris Jenner, by the way? “Khloe did not want to burden her family and jeopardize the Kardashian machine by telling the brood about Lamar’s drug issues.” Yeah, I wonder why. Can’t believe she feels the need to tiptoe around her mom when her husband is going through real issues.
