Demi Moore Fashion Felicity Jones Oscars

Demi Moore wore an icy Armani to the Oscars & lost the Best Actress Oscar

While I didn’t want Demi Moore to win the Oscar, I actually felt sorry for her when Mikey Madison’s name was called for Best Actress. To be fair, I think even Demi knew it was a toss-up – in the past two months, Demi and Mikey have been splitting the awards down the middle, with Demi picking up the SAG Award, Golden Globe and Critics Choice, and Mikey winning the BAFTA, Spirit Award and a lot of critics’ awards. Demi dressed like a winner though – her Armani gown was beautiful and I honestly thought she was going to end up winning, based solely on style vibes. She dressed for success! I like that she went for a very traditional look too.

Felicity Jones also wore Armani – she’s gone for very sleek, simple looks throughout the awards season, probably because she was never a favorite in Best Supporting Actress. Which is a shame – I remember seeing a movie critic/awards-watcher say, back in December, that people should have put some money behind Felicity’s campaign, because she really did a good job in The Brutalist. It’s true. Still, she’s part of yet another Oscar-winning film and she starred opposite another Oscar-winning lead actor (she did the same in The Theory of Everything).

Raffey Cassidy is the British actress who played Zsófia in The Brutalist. A difficult role, and she hasn’t gotten enough attention for what she did in that film. She ended up getting a lot of attention at the Oscars, just because she was the only woman (I saw) wearing Loewe. And it was a really good Loewe too!

BAFTAs Fashion Felicity Jones Letitia Wright Mikey Madison Monica Barbaro

Mikey Madison wore Prada & took home the Best Actress BAFTA for ‘Anora’

The BAFTAs were held last night in London. They were obviously not attended by the BAFTA president, who is currently on vacation in Mustique. The BAFTAs shook up the race a little bit, but honestly, this has been one of the weirdest awards seasons I’ve ever seen. Two weekends ago, Sean Baker’s Anora won two major Best Picture guild awards at the PGAs and DGAs. At the BAFTAs, Conclave took home Best Film, but Anora herself won a BAFTA – Mikey Madison won Best Actress. She wore a custom Prada to the BAFTAs – she’s worn a lot of Prada throughout the awards season, with mixed-to-bad results. I found this look to be very plain, like the simplest wedding gown on offer.

In her BAFTA speech – and remember, this is the first major award Mikey has won for Anora – she acknowledged sex workers, saying in part: “I do want to just take a moment to recognize the sex worker community. I just want to say that I see you. You deserve respect and human decency. I will always be a friend and ally.” She also thanked her fellow nominees, saying she was “in awe” of them. I still think Demi Moore is the frontrunner in the Best Actress Oscar race, but Mikey’s win is definitely interesting.

More photos from the BAFTAs – Letitia Wright also wore Prada. This is lovely. She has a years-long association with Prada and it’s been sort of a mixed bag, but I love this. My one complaint is the same thing I always say about Prada: the boob darts have to go.

Felicity Jones wore a custom Armani Prive. Back in the day, I always wanted Felicity to be more of a fashion girl, but it never really came together. I think she enjoys fashion and enjoys getting dressed up for these awards shows, but she didn’t really know how to do it in her 20s. Now that she’s more mature, she understands that she can pull off these very sleek looks. She looks great, what else can I say? I love high-quality velvet on the red carpet.

Monica Barbaro continues her “a star is born” trajectory, wearing an Armani which looks like something Bob Mackie would have made for Cher. I’m saying that as a compliment, I think.

Fashion Felicity Jones Golden Globes Karla Sofia Gascon Selena Gomez Zoë Kravitz Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana wore Saint Laurent to the 2025 Golden Globes & was dripping in diamonds

Zoe Saldana was the first winner last night, she took home supporting actress for her work in Emilia Perez. It’s on Netflix now and if you haven’t seen it yet, watch it! You need to go into it with an open mind as it’s one of the trippiest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s audacious, it’s moving, it’s messy and Zoe’s win was well deserved. This was her first Golden Globe nomination. Her speech was so effusive, but I get it. This was a big moment for her.

Zoe was in a black sequin sequin Saint Laurent with a chocolate satin wrap. As Kaiser wrote in her Anya Taylor-Joy coverage, I hope wraps are making a comeback! I loved this gown but think that Zoe needs bolder styling. Her jewelry is sending me though.

Zoe’s costar Karla Sofia Gascon was also in Saint Laurent. It’s a beautiful look but I would have liked to see her go a little more glam. Her look at the Palm Springs Film Festival would have been perfect. She was nominated for Best Actress, which went to Demi Moore. (I think Demi’s performance in The Substance was quite good, but I hated that movie.) Karla got choked up for Zoe, and for their showrunner, Jacques Audiard, when their film won Best Non-English Language. I hope it gets nominated for Best Picture and I want to see Karla nominated for Best Actress too! Also I really felt Laverne Cox’s absence on the red carpet last night when E!’s Zuri Hall was interviewing Karla. She wasn’t bad, but Laverne should have been there.

Presenter Zoe Kravitz was also in Saint Laurent, in this gown with a similar cut to Saldana’s and with a trailing white bow. This bow really makes this look. Nepo baby Kravitz bugs me a little but I really liked Don’t Blink and also she can give face.

Selena Gomez was watchable and believable in Emilia Perez. She was nominated in the Best Supporting category. I don’t think she should get an Oscar nom for that role though. She was also nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series for Only Murders. Selena wore baby blue off the shoulder satin Prada complete with a wrap. I love how sleek, rich and elegant she looks. My god.

The Brutalist’s Felicity Jones was also in Prada, in this really cool-looking “silver sequin gown with crystal embellished flowers, star and mirror detailing,” to borrow Prada’s wording. This gown is a showstopper. I would have liked to see her with different hair, but maybe any other look would have detracted from the look.

Alan Rickman versus Ralph Fiennes at a UK premiere: who would you rather?

wenn21031362

Will these photos make the Harry Potter-heads weak in the knees? Professor Snape and Lord Voldemort, together at a premiere? They’re lovely, aren’t they? These are photos from last night’s London premiere of The Invisible Woman, the true story of Charles Dickens’ multi-year love affair with a much younger woman. Ralph stars as Dickens, and he directed the film too. Felicity Jones plays his young mistress and Kristin Scott Thomas (who will always be “K” in Ralph’s book) plays the mistress’s mother. Alan Rickman is not even in the film. He just came out to support Ralph, I think. Isn’t that lovely?

A moment for the ladies: Felicity wore Alexander McQueen. I saw raves about this dress, but I’m not feeling it. It feels like the fit is off and one of her boobs is about to slip out. I don’t know who designed Kristin’s ensemble but I LOVE it. The blouse-pants combo reminds me of, like, glam pajamas. I would wear this outfit everywhere!

As for who I would rather… God, I don’t even know. I’ve been in love with Ralph for so many years. He’s beautiful in a very particular way and my attraction to him is just knee-jerk. But Alan is special too. Alan just needs to talk to me and I would be his. So… who would I rather? BOTH.
