Lady Gaga Gets Praised For Her Acting
Lady Gaga makes a cameo in the upcoming Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For as a waitress, and director Robert Rodriguez couldn’t be happier with her performance, going so far as to say he was, “blown away.” Here’s what he told E! News about his experience working with the mother monster: I told her she had to be in it. But we needed to find a role small enough that she could do while she was on tour. And then this one popped up. Gaga shares her scene with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Rodriguez went on: We were shooting and it was just a couple of days away. She happened to be on tour in Houston, just a couple of cities away from us in Austin. She was ready. She brought her own wigs! I said, ‘We’re not going to have time to make a wig for you.’ She showed up, we did the scene, she knocked it out of the park and then she was back on tour. He believes Gaga has what is takes to be an actress, saying, She would be fantastic. The camera loves her. She’s a great performer. She’s performed twice for me now and I was blown away by her discipline. She studied acting before she became a singer and you could really tell. Sin City creator Frank Miller even added, She totally transforms into the part she’s playing to the point that it doesn’t even feel like acting. Okay, let’s all pause here and just say…”Really?” The little bit of Gaga’s acting I’ve seen has been on the side of atrocious. She sounds like she’s reading off of cue cards. She’s dull and flat with her acting performances, in my opinion. But maybe she steps it up a level (or six) for this movie, who knows? Don’t Expect To See Pamela Anderson’s Ice Bucket Challenge Video Anytime Soon
Pamela Anderson took some time off from writing divorce poetry to give a statement about why she’s not in support of the ice bucket challenge. Hint: it has to do with animal testing. See, Ms. Pam Anderson is a big fan of animals, and is very dead-set against any kind of harm done to them in any way. Here’s what she had to say, hot off of Facebook: Sorry – I can’t bring myself to do your Ice bucket challenge. I enjoy a good dare- It’s always good to bring awareness – in fun, creative ways / I don’t want to take away from that. but it had me thinking. Digging a bit deeper. I found that we may not be aligned – in our messages. So… – I thought Instead / I’d challenge ALS to stop Animal testing /– Recent experiments funded by the ALS Association, mice had holes drilled into their skulls, were inflicted with crippling illnesses, and were forced to run on an inclined treadmill until they collapsed from exhaustion. Monkeys had chemicals injected into their brains and backs and were later killed and dissected. What is the result of these experiments (other than a lot of suffering)? In the past decade, only about a dozen experimental ALS treatments have moved on to human trials after being shown to alleviate the disease in animals. All but one of these treatments failed in humans—and the one that “passed” offers only marginal benefits to humans who suffer from ALS. This massive failure rate is typical for animal experiments, because even though animals feel pain and suffer like we do, their bodies often react completely differently to drugs and diseases. According to the FDA, 92 out of every 100 drugs that pass animal trials fail during the human clinical trial phase. Sophisticated non-animal testing methods—including in vitro methods, advanced computer-modeling techniques, and studies with human volunteers, among others—have given us everything from the best life-saving HIV drugs to cloned human skin for burn victims. Trying to cure human diseases by relying on outdated and ineffective animal experiments isn’t only cruel—it’s a grave disservice to people who desperately need cures. Miley Cyrus isn’t welcome in Santo Domingo
Miley Cyrus was planning on taking her Bangerz tour over to the Dominican Republic, but it turns out the city of Santo Domingo doesn’t want her there and have banned the show from happening. From The Buenos Aires Herald: Through a letter delivered to the companies in charge of the event, the local government argued Cyrus performances “go against the country’s moral and customs.” According to the commission, the singer also “performs with unsuitable costumes,” and uses “language and images which encourage sex and violence.” In addition, they accused Cyrus of “apology for crime, violence and denigrating acts before civilized culture, incitement for sex, lesbian sex, and use of inappropriate objects in public.” The show was supposed to take place at Quisqueya Stadium, in the country’s capital of Santo Domingo.
