OWN Host Laura Berman’s Son, 16, Dies After Drug Overdose

Another tragic tragic story of overdose in the entertainment family.  OWN network host Dr Laura Berman, host of ‘In the Bedroom’, has revealed her much too young son has died of an overdose of fentanyl laced Xanax at the age of 16. In a post to Instagram, Laura explained Snapchat is how these dealers reach the kids. She wrote; “My beautiful boy is gone. 16 years old. Sheltering at home,” she captioned a photo of the two of them. “A drug dealer connected with him on Snapchat and gave him [fentanyl] laced Xanax and he overdosed in his room.” “They do this because it hooks people even more and is good for business but I causes overdose [sic] and the kids don’t know what they are taking,” she continued. “My heart is completely shattered and I am not sure how to keep breathing. I post this now only so that not one more kid dies. We watched him so closely. Straight A student. Getting ready for college. Experimentation gone bad. He got the drugs delivered to the house. Please watch your kids and WATCH SNAPCHAT especially. That’s how they get them.” Monday, a spokesperson for Snapchat said the company is “committed to working together with law enforcement in this case and in all instances where Snapchat is used for illegal purposes.” “We have zero tolerance for using Snapchat to buy or sell illegal drugs,” the statement continued. “Using Snapchat for illegal purposes is firmly against our community guidelines and we enforce against these violations. We are constantly improving our technological capabilities to detect drug-related activity so that we can intervene proactively. … We have no higher priority than keeping Snapchat a safe environment and we will continue to invest in protecting our community.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that fentanyl, a rapid-acting opioid, is 80 times as potent as morphine and hundreds of times more potent than heroin. Classified as a Schedule II drug by the federal government, its medical uses are typically pain management following surgery or for chronic pain. A health alert issued in December by the CDC reported “substantial increases in drug overdose deaths across the United States, primarily driven by rapid increases in overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids excluding methadone (hereafter referred to as synthetic opioids), likely illicitly manufactured fentanyl.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Laura Berman (@drlauraberman) The post OWN Host Laura Berman’s Son, 16, Dies After Drug Overdose appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Christopher Plummer, ‘Sound of Music’ actor dead at 91

Oscar-winning actor Christopher Plummer has passed away. He was 91. The legendary actor’s death was confirmed by family members, according to Deadline. “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humor and the music of words,” Lou Pitt, his longtime friend and manager of 46 years said in a statement. “He was a National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us.” Plummer is perhaps best known for his performance with Julie Andrews in 1965’s “The Sound of Music.” In a 2009 interview, he recalled his friendship with Andrews after working with her on the iconic movie. “I’m very fond of Julie,” he told NPR. “That’s the nicest thing that came out of that film for me. We have a true and great friendship. She’s an extraordinary woman, professional. I’m grateful to the film in many ways because it was such a success. It is not my favorite film, of course, because I do think it borders on mockishness.” More recently, he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for playing a 75-year-old widower who comes out as gay in 2012’s “Beginners.” The post Christopher Plummer, ‘Sound of Music’ actor dead at 91 appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Chrissy Teigen regrets not seeing her stillborn sons face

My heart melts for Chrissy Teigen who seems to continue her journey of pain over losing her newborn son, Jack. She had said at the time of the tragedy, back in September, that she intentionally didn’t look at the tiny baby’s face for fear it would haunt her dreams.  She now regrets that. Alongside the shot, Chrissy, who is mother to Luna, four, and Miles, two, penned a heartbreaking caption detailing her ‘daily remorse’ and admitting she laments not looking at her son’s face when he was born due to fears for the future. She wrote: ‘I am so full of regret that I didn’t look at his face when he was born. I was so scared of seeing him in my nightmares that I forgot about seeing him in my dreams. I hurt every day from that remorse’. View this post on Instagram A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) ‘To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.’ She added: ‘We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.’ The post Chrissy Teigen regrets not seeing her stillborn sons face appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

HBO’s Fake Famous will make you dislike influencers even more

I am all in on the new HBO Max doc, Fake Famous. Journalist Nick Bilton set out to examine the phenomenon of “influencers” and how they tick.  Why more kids today say they want to be influencers than any other “occupation”.  Which I suppose it is. Fake Famous (on HBO, starting February 2), brings slightly more apprehension—specifically to Instagram, the photo darling of social media. Why does it seem like everyone wants fame on Instagram, and what does it take to get it? The film starts at the pink wall, with a set of philosophical questions, and ends months later with a dark warning about the emptiness of internet stardom. Check out the trailer. I’m watching it TONIGHT! The post HBO’s Fake Famous will make you dislike influencers even more appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Kelly Clarkson selling Encino Mansion

Kelly Clarkson has listed the Encino home that she shared with her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock. The place is huge and was built from the ground up by Clarkson.  It’s a really interesting home with sort of an industrial vibe.  I’m confused as hell by some of the choices and stuff mixed together, but you be the judge. One things for certain, you’ll never be bored in this house. From the listing:  “a home theater, a gym, wine room and a two-level guest house with full kitchen and two bathrooms. This masterpiece is situated on park-like grounds with mature palms, a sparkling pool and spa. An outdoor area with a built-in lounge, firepit, and fully equipped kitchen with pizza oven, is the perfect place to entertain, day or night.” $8,995,000 8bed 9.5+bath 10,108sqft 0.54acre lot The post Kelly Clarkson selling Encino Mansion appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.
