If the news of Mindy McCready’s suicide wasn’t sad enough, we keep hearing more and more depressing talk about the singer’s final days on Earth. Most recently, we heard that along with her own life, the 37-year-old troubled star took her innocent dog’s life. Well now to make all of this a little more disturbing and confusing, reports are saying that in her final days, McCready was under police investigation over her boyfriend David Wilson’s death.
If you recall, it was first announced (by McCready’s publicist) that Wilson died last month due to a self-inflicted gunshot but currently, there has been no official confirmation of that. Apparently, before her suicide, McCready had been speaking with police in the last few weeks about what she knew regarding Wilson’s death, and her ever-changing story seemed to concern them for obvious reasons.
One source put it this way: “At first, she said she hadn’t heard the gunshot because the TV was too loud. Then she said she had heard the gunshot. So obviously there were a lot of questions, and the Sheriff was asking for clarification.”
Sadly, before the police could question her further, McCready took her and her dog’s life.
The source added: “At no point did [police] tell her she was a suspect, and she wasn’t officially one, but she knew that some of her answers didn’t stand up to questioning. She was very cooperative, but she just wasn’t making a lot of sense.”
In other news, E! has a very disturbing piece on the singer’s last taped conversation. It really turned my stomach, so that’s why I’m not summarizing it here. Basically, she just recounts finding Wilson’s body. It’s sad and slightly gruesome, so beware.
What a complete tragedy all of this is. If there’s one thing to be thankful for, I’d say it’s that McCready didn’t physically harm her kids before taking her and her dog’s life. Sadly, they’ll carry the emotional scars forever.
