Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle visits Edinburgh

One of my absolute favorite things about all of the drama between the Montecito royals and the Salt Island royals is that the dusty saltines consistently get their panties in a bunch about people behaving professionally and responsibly. Like, of course Meghan kept written records of how she was treated. Of course she kept a paper trail of the abuse she suffered. It happened at work. The dusty saltines were also really mad that Harry went into the Sussexit negotiations with a list of stuff they needed to work out and clarify. Remember that? They were so mad that Harry actually came into that meeting wanting concrete decisions to be made. And now that the Sussexes are out of the Windsors’ grasp, apparently it’s totally bad form for Harry to… like, have a lawyer and correct libelous claims.

Royal author Phil Dampier has slammed Prince Harry for ‘running to his lawyers like a Hollywood star’ after threatening BBC with legal action over reports he didn’t ask the Queen about calling his daughter Lilibet.

Appearing on The Royal Beat, available on Royalty TV, the veteran royal correspondent branded the Duke of Sussex’s threat of legal action against the BBC and other media outlets as ‘absolutely extraordinary’ – adding ‘this is what worries me about him.’

‘Whenever something critical appears he runs straight to his lawyer,’ Phil Dampier explained. ‘It’s very LA. It’s OK for Hollywood stars, but not to solve a family feud…I think the BBC correctly reported what she had told her royal aide to say, which was she hadn’t been asked in advance.’

Yeah, Harry had his lawyer threaten the BBC over their reporting because the Queen’s courtiers were actively briefing against him and claiming that he never spoke to the Queen about Lilibet’s name. It’s not “an LA thing,” it’s the professional way to behave, especially when the Sussexes are dealing with racists, liars and a–holes. But that isn’t the only thing Phil Dampier was upset about! No, he apparently has many concerns over the Sussexes’ Spotify deal:

Back in December, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed the dotted line on a multimillion-dollar deal with Spotify. Six months later, many are craving the content they’ve yet to deliver. Through their Archewell Audio imprint, the couple signed a reported $25M deal with the platform to produce podcasts and other programming “that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world.” Thus far, however, they’ve produced a three-minute trailer and their 34-minute Christmas Special, which premiered shortly after news of the deal went public in December.

The couple are also currently on parental leave after the birth of their daughter Lilibet two weeks ago, leading observers to believe they won’t be providing fresh content anytime soon.

“We’re being told they’re having up to five months off and people who are paying them a lot of money will expect something in return,” insisted Royal author Phil Dampier to The Sun. “They seem to be using up a lot of ammunition very early and putting a lot of stuff out there in terms of deals and agreements with lots of firms. The question might be asked whether they have too much on their plate.”

I mean, maybe they do have too much on their plate? But why is it any of Phil Dampier’s business? It’s between Spotify and the Sussexes. It doesn’t involve the royals whatsoever. It’s a business situation and no one has any idea what’s happening behind-the-scenes. You know why? Because Harry and Meghan aren’t doing twenty million “announcements” about what they will do eventually, nor are they making announcements about their plans to be keen eventually. They actually like to work on stuff quietly and come out with a finished (or nearly completed) product.
