The pandemic changed my worldview about a lot of things. One of the weirdest realizations I had was that, actually, I’m a cold-weather person. I prefer the cold. I prefer a cloudy, chilly day to a sunny, warm day. I realized that because I spent so much more time outside during the pandemic. I thought of this pandemic-realization as I read through these quotes from Michael B. Jordan as he promotes his contract with Coach. He’s been the face of Coach since 2019, and he’s currently promoting the Fall 2021 line. Some highlights from People Magazine:

He loves layers: “I’m a sweater weather guy, so jackets are my favorite because I love layering up. I’m from the east coast, so whenever I could throw on a couple layers, I jump at the opportunity. Living in LA, we don’t get too many of those. It takes me back to my East Coast roots! I just feel comfortable. It’s nice and snug…and they fit really well, especially since I started working out. I’ll throw on a nice turtleneck and it just fits right.”

He loves working with Coach: “You spend so much time working closely with certain brands, and you adapt some of the best qualities. Then you can take that to your repertoire. [Because of Coach], I’ve started to look at jackets with a certain eye. Find the styles and sizes that you fit, and then start to collect different jackets that fit in that wheelhouse.”

He began developing his own style “a few years ago.” He tends to be in one of three modes: work mode, relaxation mode and red carpet mode — the latter of which is where he most expresses himself. “I change into other people’s clothes for a living. When I get on set first thing in the morning, I’m taking my clothes off and I’m putting on my wardrobe. At night, I’m taking the wardrobe off and putting on my clothes just to go back home. So I think a lot of times, [I dress] for comfort.”

His collection of hoodies. “For me, they’re what I wear the most often — when I’m traveling or lounging around the house. My most versatile piece, I think, is my hoodies. You can have more luxury hoodies, more vintage hoodies — there’s so many versions of it. It’s like a layer of armor.”

I’ve only got one heavy hoodie and three light little hoodie coverups. I don’t think of them as particularly versatile – they’re what I wear when I’m working out or about to work out, or when I’m out running errands. That being said, I have seen glam hoodies. There is this sequined silver hoodie which lives rent-free in my head. Anyway, I want to be in cold weather with MBJ. I want him to wrap his oversized hoodie around me as we kiss. Alas, I am not Lori Harvey.
