
The British Columbia Coroners Service has confirmed the cause of death regarding actor Corey Monteith, heroin overdose.
Monteith died from a combination of heroin and alcohol. Reports state that Monteith’s hotel room contained two empty champagne bottles, a drug spoon and multiple hypodermic needles.
His struggle with drugs and alcohol was well documented, and at one point it seemed as though his troubles were behind him. But on July 6, 2013, he checked into the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, and when his checkout date of July 13 arrived, he was nowhere to be found. Hotel staff entered his room and discovered his lifeless body.
Corey starred on the hit television series, GLEE. He was 31.
