The 60 second video of Billie pleading with fans to vote against Trump (and then begrudgingly added “for Biden”) is almost spooky.  Telling people to vote for Biden “like our lives and the world depend on it.” The spot is filled with such desperation it should just about do the trick.  The ‘get people out to vote’ trick. Billie Eilish shared an emotional Justin Bieber clip on her Instagram account this weekend. In it, Justin tells Beats 1 interviewer Zane Lowe (full interview here) how he has an intense need to “protect” Billie from all the fame traps that nearly did him in. “Yeah, so um, yeah — I just want to protect her,” he says, wiping away tears, taking deep breaths and sniffing loudly in a the clip. “I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through,” he told Lowe, having admitted elsewhere that his path of self-destruction from finding fame so young almost killed him. “I don’t wish that upon anybody. So um, yeah, if she ever needs me I’m just a call away,” said Bieber, now 25. It’s really very sweet. Billie Eilish slams Nylon Germany for topless cover pic

It comes as a shock to no one that 17 year old Billie Eilish isn’t afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself.  She got to prove that this week when she was shown the cover of Nylon magazine’s German edition. The cover (left) was a digital image of Billie herself as a robot android like thingy. She instantly took exception with a number of things. She took to Instagram writing “what the fuck is this shit.    1. i was never approached by nylon about this piece whatsoever. i did not know it was happening nor did anyone on my team. 2. this is not even a real picture of me. i had absolutely no creative input.    3. youre gonna make a picture of me shirtless?? thats not real?? at 17? and make it the cover???? even if the picture was supposed to look like some robot version of me… i did not consent in any way,’ she continued.  4. ANNNDDD YOU’RE GONNA REMOVE ALL MY FUCKIN HAIR? booooooooooo to you.’ Seeming not detered, Nylon posted a rebuttal saying “For this cover, it was never our intention to create a look that is confusing or insulting to Billie Eilish,” the magazine wrote. It was only ever our intention to honor Billie‘s impact and her work by creating this avatar which is part of a cover series highlighting the power of digital prodigy artists. This avatar is a piece of 3D artwork created in dedication to her achievements and the positive effect she has had on millions around the globe – including us.’ So I think what they’re saying is they consider this parody, which is legal, and Billie can go pound sand. Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” ends record streak, LNX stays cool

Lil Nas X, the all the rage and I am who I am hero of the summer can be pretty proud of his hit song “Old Town Road”.  After all it stayed number one on the Billboard Charts for 19 weeks. (Previous record was 16 weeks and was held by “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men and “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee. And who took the spot? My baby sister, Billie Eilish! Her song “Bad Guys” is getting the love it deserves and it also makes her the youngest #1 hit maker (she’s 17) since Demi Lovato debuted with “Here We Go Again” at 16. I also wouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I didn’t tell you that most of the gossip on Billie is that’s she’s an industry plant. And that stations have been ordered to play her on mad rotation to get her into our subconscious minds.  Or maybe we just like her. Whatevs Either way, lil Nas X took it like a millennial.
