Divorces infidelity Keith Urban Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban, and there is another woman

I was going to marvel at how quickly People Magazine threw together their Nicole Kidman-Keith Urban separation cover story, but this is one of those times when People’s editors might have wanted to hit pause for a day or two. Just hours after People’s cover dropped on Tuesday, Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are getting divorced. The actress has filed for divorce from the country star, PEOPLE confirms, just one day after news broke that the couple had separated after 19 years of marriage. TMZ was first to report the news.

Kidman filed for divorce on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Nashville, where the couple has lived since 2007, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. She listed their date of separation as the date of filing, and cited irreconcilable differences as reason for the split.

The pair were married in June 2006 after meeting at a gala in Los Angeles the year prior, and share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

[From People]

Well, it’s interesting. The timing feels significant. My guess is that Nicole initially thought this summer could be a trial separation, but Keith was already done with the marriage when Nicole left for England. Note: TMZ’s report on Nicole’s divorce filing has way more information. Apparently, Nic and Keith have already worked out a parenting plan/custodial agreement for their teenage daughters, and they’ve apparently worked out the child support already too. There’s a prenup as well and it doesn’t look like there will be a nasty fight over money (here’s hoping). TMZ says Nicole and Keith have spent a few months hammering out these details, but “our sources say Nicole made an abrupt decision to file today.”

Meanwhile, I already had a certain theory about what happened and my gut was telling me that Keith has a side-chick. That was the energy, that HE left Nicole, that he decided to move out of their home, that he got another place, that he was completely done with the marriage. Nine times out of ten, when a man is making those moves, he’s got a jumpoff waiting in the wings. Well, surprise surprise:

Keith Urban separated from Nicole Kidman and is already involved with a new woman … at least that’s what Nicole and Keith’s inner circle and the Nashville community believes. Multiple sources connected to Nicole say “all the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman. Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”

One Nicole source adds, “It’s all over Nashville.”

None of the sources can pinpoint the timing. If Keith is indeed with another woman, they could have hooked up after the separation.

[From TMZ]

Yeah. Not so surprising after all. And I bet it is all over Nashville, most country-music scandals are part of Nashville’s gossip mill. I bet tons of people knew before Nicole, and that’s a horrible feeling. What else? People Mag’s sources said that Nicole felt like the writing was on the wall when Keith got his own place. Sources also told People: “She feels very betrayed. Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed… It’s devastating to her. She’s shocked.” Man, Keith f–king sucks.

Affairs Coldplay Concerts Divorces

Source close to viral Coldplay couple says there was no affair & the fallout is unfair

One of the more fascinating elements of the Coldplay Kiss Cam Gate™ is that when the camera landed on the couple at the center of it all — Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, CEO and HR Chief of tech startup Astronomer, respectively, and married to other people — the pair were merely engaged in a spoon-hug. Granted, it looked intimate and they were holding hands; but there were still ways to play it off as no big deal. What sent the moment into overdrive was the couple’s kneejerk reactions to duck and cover. Nothing signals “I’m doing something I shouldn’t be” like immediately desisting from the verboten activity and hiding. Since that fateful July concert, Andy and Kristin have both resigned from Astronomer, and Kristin has filed for divorce from her husband Andrew Cabot. The Cabots have also been getting the backstory out that they were already separated before the Kiss Cam seen around the world. Well, now “a source close to” Kristin is speaking out, primarily to decry that there was no affair and the fallout has been deeply unfair.

Inappropriate hugging, but no affair: “Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the source tells PEOPLE. “It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it,” the source says. “But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.” … The moment thrust two couples — Byron and his reported spouse, Megan, and Cabot and her husband, Andrew — into the spotlight, fueling countless memes and headlines.

It could happen to any of us! “It is important to note how inappropriately mislabeled Kristin has been — as a homewrecker,” says the source, who notes Byron and Cabot attended the concert with a group of friends. “It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened, and how devastating it can be, for not just individuals, but entire families,” says the source. “All I can think of is that this could happen to any of us at any time. I think all of the misinformation has been the most mind-blowing to witness. These are real people and real families,” they say. “The way people have taken a lot of enjoyment at their expense, it’s hard to see.”

Kristin’s husband was also there “on a date”?? “Kristin and Andrew [Cabot] had been living apart,” the Cabot source says, adding that on the night Cabot was seen with Byron, her husband was also “at the Coldplay concert on a date.” “It was not a company event,” says the source of Byron and Cabot being together that night. “There was no company box. It was a night with a big group of friends and an inappropriate moment.”

The lack of privacy has been hard: As for how Cabot is doing, the source says, “It’s been hard for her to leave the house. She’s been prioritizing her family. Her kids have been through a lot.” … “Kristin had people standing outside her car while she was picking her son up from work, grown women laughing, taking pictures, pointing,” the source says. “It’s been a tough thing to watch.” … “In the first three days after the news broke, she had about 900 death threats on her phone,” the source says. “And just overall, the mockery made of someone, the way people really seem to enjoy it and feel as though if somebody makes a mistake — public shaming is absolutely on the table as a punishment.”

Focusing on the kids: Right now, the source says, Cabot “is making sure her kids are okay, and that’s going to take time. Kristin has a lot of family and friends around her that know who she really is and love her, and will all see her through this,” the source says, adding, “It will take time.”

[From People]

The people I’ve always felt the most for in this messy situation are all the kids involved. Kristin has kids from a previous marriage, her now-estranged husband has kids from a previous marriage, and Andy Byron has kids with his current wife (or as People Mag referred to her, “his reported spouse, Megan”). I really hope all of these kids have solid support networks. And it’s also good that Kristin has support of her own from friends and family, including this devoted “source” who insists that Kristin is no homewrecker. The thing is, though, we’re still missing half the equation, right? The “source” can only speak to the parties she knows, the Cabots (and commenting that Andrew Cabot was also “on a date” at the concert sure seems like a telling admission). But if Byron “and his reported spouse” were not separated, then… yeah. And frankly, the Byrons don’t owe the public any explanation or clarification. I will say, that if Coldplay frontman Chris Martin championed the practice of conscious uncoupling, then this group is giving a master class in unconscious entanglement.

Breakups Divorces Katy Perry Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom had ‘been living on an island of stress’

Last week, we finally got a loosey-goosey “confirmation” for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s split. The breakup had been telegraphed in publicist-spoon-fed articles for weeks, and even when the confirmation came, Katy and Orlando still didn’t issue an actual statement about it. I have no idea why they seem so adverse to a simple joint statement of “we’re over but we still have a lot of love for each other and we’re committed to co-parenting.” The only reason why they can’t do that is probably because they can’t even agree on it? So instead of that, we’re getting more publicist-led quotes to People Mag:

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom experienced issues for years before they reached their breaking point. Last week, PEOPLE confirmed the the pair have split after nine years together on and off. Now sources are revealing what went wrong.

“Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,” a source tells PEOPLE. “[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.”

Before the split, the “Teenage Dream” hitmaker, 40, and the Lord of the Rings star, 48, had “been living on an island of stress,” the source adds. “Things have been rocky.”

A film source tells PEOPLE that the split has been “sad and unpleasant,” but Perry and Bloom are focused on co-parenting their daughter Daisy Dove, 4.

“Sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],” the film source adds. “It can overshadow the love.”

[From People]

Honestly? I imagine they’re both pretty difficult to live with in different ways. Katy would drive me up the wall, and Orlando probably would too. “[They had] too much going on in their lives…” Did they? Really? Orlando doesn’t work that much. Katy has been busy this whole time, even if her last album flopped. Like, even after she welcomed Daisy, Katy was still working a lot and touring a lot. Which is a different thing altogether, when Katy is super-busy and Orlando… isn’t.

People Mag also had a story about Katy and Orlando wanting to protect Daisy and finally admitting to themselves that they would be better parents to her if they split up, with one source saying: “At a certain point, they had to admit it’s better for Daisy to see their parents separately, then she won’t grow up feeling the tension and animosity.” Which is something I wish more couples would understand – nothing f–ks up a family more than “staying together for the kids.” Now Daisy gets to see her parents behave like adults who can negotiate a coparenting partnership while exploring their freedom away from another.

Divorces Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce after three years of marriage

Quinta Brunson married sales manager Kevin Jay Anik (he works in the legal cannabis industry in California) in October 2021 and has been vocal about wanting to keep her marriage “sacred and safe.” Quinta and Jay started dating after meeting at a friend’s birthday party and got engaged in mid 2020. They didn’t even announce it when they got married. Everyone found out when Quinta referred to him as her husband during her Emmys acceptance speech months later. Despite keeping the details of their relationship private, Quinta has been vocal about how supportive he was of her career. Sadly, Quinta and Jay are getting divorced after three years of marriage.

Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Jay Anik. The “Abbott Elementary” star filed a petition for dissolution of marriage on Thursday in a Los Angeles courthouse, according to a copy of the filing obtained by CNN. Brunson cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for divorce and did not specify a date of separation.

The petition also confirms that Brunson and Anik “entered into a postnuptial agreement which governs the disposition of their property.”

The pair became engaged in 2020, according to a post on Brunson’s Instagram page. They wed in 2021 and do not share any children, according to the petition.

CNN has reached out to a representative for Brunson for comment.

[From CNN]

It sounds like Quinta and Kevin are both handling this in a mature way and respecting each other’s desire for privacy. The gossip part of me really wants to know what went down here, though. I wonder if they were able to keep this under-the-radar for this long because she didn’t have to give any acceptance speeches for Abbott this year. Considering Quinta hasn’t even acknowledged publicly that they’re separated and are in the process of divorcing, I’m not sure we’ll ever find out what happened. We’ll have to wait and see if Quinta addresses it in a future memoir. Hopefully, it stays drama-free and, if she needs it, she takes the time and space for healing.

In the meantime, Quinta’s still busy working. Last month, she was a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and attended the SNL: 50 live show. On Monday, she moderated a Severance panel for a Deadline x AppleTV event. And, of course, Abbott Elementary was renewed for a fifth season earlier this year. May she continue to kick ass and thrive.

David Harbour Divorces Lily Allen

Lily Allen and David Harbour announce separation after 4 years of marriage

After months of rumors about their marriage being on the rocks, Lily Allen and David Harbour confirmed earlier this week that they’ve separated. David and Lily got together after meeting on the exclusive dating app Raya in early 2019 and got married in Las Vegas in September 2020. Over the past few months, there’s been rumors that they were having problems because Lily caught David cheating or that Lily had relapsed. Lily addressed that gossip on a recent episode of her podcast, Miss Me?, saying it wasn’t true. She didn’t do much to quell rumors of a split, though, when she admitted that she’s was not in a good place and felt herself “spiraling.” And now we have confirmation thanks to a People exclusive.

Lily Allen and David Harbour are calling it quits. The “Smile” singer, 39, and the Stranger Things actor, 49, have separated after four years of marriage, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.

“Her marriage has been crumbling,” an insider tells PEOPLE exclusively, “and they have split.”

Reps for Allen and Harbour did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Allen — who married Harbour in 2020 after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya — alluded to a recent “tough time” on the Dec. 16 episode of her BBC podcast Miss Me? with co-host Miquita Oliver.

Though Allen did not offer additional details as to the source of her trouble, she said it was affecting her mental health and causing her problems with her eating.

[From People]

According to an “insider,” Lily is “devastated and not in a good place” and that the separation has been “very hard” for both her and her two daughters, Ethel Mary, 13 and Marnie Rose, 12, who were close with David. I know Lily can be problematic as hell, but I do feel for her and I kinda liked them together. She seemed to really love David and whatever the ultimate cause of their split was, I bet she felt they could work it out. I also truly feel for Ethel and Mary. If they were as close with David as we’ve heard they were, then they must be going through a tough time right now. I hope Lily can keep herself together emotionally to be there for them. I am also certain that this is only the beginning of these types of exclusives and we’ll totally find out what went down sooner rather than later.

Ben Affleck Divorces jennifer lopez

Jennifer Lopez will keep the $5 million green diamond ring post-divorce

Ben Affleck is a childish dumbass, a cheater and a lout but I will give him props for one thing: the man is not cheap. He spends money when he’s in love, and he spent money on Jennifer Lopez. Now that Ben and J.Lo are officially divorced and most of the financial stuff has been negotiated, people want to know what’s going to happen to the ring. When Ben proposed to Jennifer for the second time, he chose another colored diamond. For their first engagement, he gave her a spectacular pink diamond, which ended up setting a major trend in engagement rings and demand for colored diamonds. The second time around, it was less trend-setting but still very expensive – he got Jennifer a huge green diamond ring, which she loved. Apparently, Jennifer gets to keep the ring.

Jennifer Lopez isn’t bidding farewell to her sparkler. The “Unstoppable” actress is keeping the 8.5-carat natural green diamond engagement ring she got from estranged husband Ben Affleck now that their divorce is over, according to court documents seen by Page Six.

Worth an estimated $5 million, Lopez’s gorgeous statement green diamond is flanked by a matching pair of trapezoid-shaped white diamonds. Following the proposal in 2022, Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro, told Page Six Style, “A green diamond of that size is incredibly rare and would dwarf the value of their previous engagement ring.” He added, “I would value the ring well over $5 million and could be worth more than $10 million.”

Affleck chose the unique color as it’s Lopez’s favorite and even engraved the ring with an ironic saying: “not.going.anywhere.,” which was how he would sign their emails when they first rekindled their romance, Lopez revealed to Apple Music One’s Zane Lowe.

Shortly after their split in August, an insider told OK Magazine that Lopez, who was first engaged to the actor from 2002 to 2004, had no intention of returning the piece.

“It was a gift,” the source said about the wedding band. “Just because the relationship didn’t work out doesn’t mean she has to give it back. Jennifer has zero guilt about keeping it, and clearly Ben doesn’t mind — he’s done this twice already! It’s not like he didn’t know what he was getting into!”

[From Page Six]

I remember there was some back-and-forth over the years as to whether Jennifer kept the first ring, the pink diamond. I feel like she probably did keep it, and I absolutely believe she should keep this one too. This one was supposed to be different, this was supposed to be forever, they were older and wiser this time around. Keep the ring and turn it into a necklace or something. People have strong feelings about whether a lady should keep the ring – my older, evolved opinion is that the woman should keep it as long as the ring isn’t a family heirloom on the husband’s side of the family. That’s the only exception – if the ring belonged to his granny, you shouldn’t keep it.

Meanwhile, a “source” close to J.Lo told People Magazine: “The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end. She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter.” I hope that’s true, that she’s in IDGAF, I’m Glad It’s Over mode. I doubt she’s really feeling that way though.

Benjamin Millepied Divorces Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman is not surprised her ex Benjamin Millepied moved on quickly

In June 2023, it was revealed that Natalie Portman’s then-husband, Benjamin Millepied, had an affair with a 25-year-old French woman named Camilla Etienne. Prior to this, in March, we learned that Natalie and Benjamin had quietly separated and finalized their divorce. They were married for 11 years and have two children together, a son Aleph, 13, and a daughter Amalia, 7. In mid-October, Benjamin was papped on the streets of Paris making out with a new woman. So, what does Natalie think about her ex’s PDA? A source tells Us Weekly that she’s not surprised at all. In fact, she expected him to move out “pretty quickly.”

“Natalie isn’t surprised that Benjamin has moved on because of how their relationship ended. She thought he’d move on pretty quickly,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

Millepied, 47, was seen passionately kissing a mystery woman in Paris on October 15. The PDA came seven months after the French dancer and Portman, 43, finalized their divorce in March. Us previously confirmed in August 2023 that Portman and Millepied had quietly split after 11 years of marriage. News of the breakup came two months after it was widely reported that Millepied had an affair with climate activist Camille Étienne.

“[Natalie] hopes Benjamin is happy,” the insider says, noting that Portman learned about the photos of Millepied locking lips with an unnamed woman shortly before they were made public last month.

A second source tells Us that Portman isn’t affected by Millepied’s romantic decisions.

“Benjamin’s dating life doesn’t really have any bearing on Natalie,” the second insider adds. “She’s super happy in her life right now and has been prioritizing family and friends.”

Portman previously voiced her “gratitude for my friends who lift me up again and again” while commemorating her birthday via Instagram in June.

In addition to focusing on her friendships, Portman is also prioritizing her and Millepied’s two children, son Aleph, 13, and daughter Amalia, 7. The first source tells Us that the former couple are “getting into the swing” of coparenting.

“Everything is moving smoothly so far,” the insider adds.

An additional source told Us in June that it took Portman “a while to get her smile back after the divorce,” but she “turned a corner” after finalizing the split.

“Natalie is her confident self [again],” the insider said at the time, noting that the actress had a “lighter step” and “more joy” in her eyes.

Portman and Millepied began dating after working together on 2010’s Black Swan, for which Portman won an Oscar for Best Actress. They tied the knot in 2012. The pair “started having problems” well before they split, another source told Us in January, noting that Portman “began to suspect infidelity” after Millepied started “taking work trips that didn’t add up.”

While the insider said Portman was “humiliated and utterly crushed by Benjamin’s behavior,” an additional source said that Portman “didn’t give up on [her marriage] lightly.”

Despite the contentious circumstances of their split, Portman and Millepied are “being very civil toward each other for the kids,” another source told Us in March.

[From US Weekly]

As far as I’ve seen, this woman hasn’t been identified yet, but from the pictures of them kissing, her side profile is similar to Natalie’s, and that’s all I’ll say about that. If I were Natalie, I personally wouldn’t have even given him the satisfaction of any response, but hopefully her message was received and no one will ask her about Benjamin’s love life again. I’m not surprised he moved on quickly, either. The dude is scum. Good for them, I guess, for being able to co-parent together. Their kids deserve that. Anyway, cheating on his partner is kinda Benjamin’s MO at this point, so good luck to his new lady.
