Bhad Bhabie dissolved her fillers: ‘It makes you look older & blocks your lymphatic system’

Rapper Bhad Bhabie is the latest celebrity to speak out about regretting getting fillers. You may remember Bhad (née Danielle Bregoli) as the teenager who went on Dr. Phil’s show and said the now infamous “Cash me outside, how ‘bout that?” phrase. I cannot believe that her appearance and entrance into the cultural zeitgeist was eight years ago. I swear, I thought it was only like a year before the pandemic started.

Anyway, a now 21-year-old Bhad successfully parlayed her 15 minutes of fame from Dr. Phil into a rap and OnlyFans career. She also welcomed her first child, a daughter with boyfriend Vaughn, in March. Over the weekend, Bhad revealed via Instagram that she’d dissolved her facial fillers because they made her “look so much older.”

Bhad Bhabie is going all-natural. The rapper took to her Instagram Story Saturday to reveal she dissolved her facial fillers while warning her followers to avoid the cosmetic injections.

“Dissolved all my filler,” she wrote alongside a bare-faced video. “I had cheeks, lips, chin. Stop doing it unless you absolutely need it.

She added, “It makes you look so much older and blocks your lymphatic drainage system causing pillow face!”

Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, decided to revert to her natural looks after welcoming her first child with boyfriend Le Vaughn last month. She subtly announced the arrival of her daughter with a black-and-white photo of herself cradling the newborn on her Instagram Story on March 15. The 21-year-old hasn’t shared any details about her bundle of joy to the world and tends to shield her baby’s face from the camera.

However, Bhabie did give her fans a hint at the infant’s moniker as she documented her baby shower on social media in February with the caption, “A KALI LOVE STORY.” The photo dump included a picture of decor and monogrammed pillows that read, “Kali Love.”

Bhabie kept her pregnancy under wraps for months before revealing she was expecting in December 2023.

[From Page Six]

Well, of course they were going to make her look older. I honestly have no idea why a 21-year-old would need to get fillers in their cheeks, lips, and chin in the first place. You still look naturally young at that age! I have no issues at all with fillers, Botox, plastic surgery, etc, but I do think 21 is way too young to start with those enhancements. What is the obsession with young celebrities and fillers? I know Botox can help with migraines, but couldn’t find any real medical reason for someone so young to have fillers. Ahh, sorry, I sound judgy, but I promise that I’m not trying to. I just feel like so many younger people look at the Kardashian model and think they need to do that too. Wait until you actually need them!

Also, side note, and I bring this up because I am so impressed/flabbergasted by this, but while I was reading about what Bhad Bhabie’s been up to over the past few years, I found a story about how in 2021, she made $38 million dollars from eight months of doing OnlyFans. Bhad posted a screenshot of her OnlyFans income between April and November 2021 to her Insta Stories. She started the account after she turned 18 of that year. I’m no prude and have friends/acquaintances that have started OnlyFans accounts, but none of them have made even close to that much money. That’s insane to me! She’s an adult, so as long as she was doing it of her own volition, then good for her. Bah, this is blowing my mind.

Ariana Grande: I had a ton of lip filler and Botox, but stopped in 2018

I wonder if Ariana Grande is still with Spongebob guy because they’ve been pretty quiet for a while. Maybe now that he’s available and separated from his wife she will have lost interest. At any rate, Ariana did a Vogue Beauty Secrets video and in it she said that she used to get filler and Botox. She also says she stopped getting these injections in 2018. I do not believe her but I am also grateful she admitted to getting work done at all in the first place. Ari also talked about changing her hair and makeup style because she used to hide behind big hair and winged eyeliner.

Ariana Grande has revealed she’s taken a hiatus from lip fillers and Botox injections in recent years.

Grande’s comments came during a video made for Vogue about her beauty secrets, during which she got candid — and emotional — about how her relationship with beauty has shifted over time.

The singer and the actor has not previously disclosed undergoing any cosmetic procedures. Having grown up in the spotlight, and thus dealt with public scrutiny over her appearance from a young age, she said, “it’s really hard to know what’s worth hearing and not.”

While applying makeup for the video, Grande, now aged 30, explained that she had often embellished her beauty looks with bigger hair or thicker eyeliner “as a disguise or something to hide behind,” but as she gets older she doesn’t “love that being the intention behind it anymore,” thinking of it “as self-expression and accentuating what is there” instead.

Similarly, she continued, she used cosmetic procedures in the same way. “I had a ton of lip filler over the years, and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I felt so — too much,” she said. “For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me and now I feel like maybe it’s not.”

“I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines,” she continued. “I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper and I laugh more and more. Aging can be such a beautiful thing.”

[From CNN]

Deep sigh. Ariana’s face has changed a lot in recent years and some of that is likely weight loss, some of it is natural aging, and some of it is how she’s changed doing her makeup. But I think she has had even more invasive procedures done around her eyes and forehead and may have gotten a brow lift or the famous ‘ponytail facelift’ that Bella Hadid is rumored to have done. The corner of a person’s eyes rarely lift upward as they age but hers have done that. Her upper face just appears very pulled taut to me. There also isn’t a dramatic difference in her lip size between 2018 and the present day, quite frankly, so I just don’t believe her when she says she stopped getting filler five years ago. I think she wants to have it both ways and own up to some things but not others. In a way it could be worse, and I’m glad she admitted to getting work done. But when people hide behind these little half-truths it’s still annoying.

botox Christy Turlington Fillers Plastic Surgery

Christy Turlington on women who haven’t had plastic surgery ‘I love seeing a real face’

Christy Turlington is in my opinion one of the most beautiful women of the last century. But out of all the Supers, she also might be the least interesting. Naomi and Linda have crazy charisma and they’ve each had their messes, but Christy is kind of milquetoast. But I’ll give her credit for pivoting to humanitarian work with her organization Every Mother Counts. Every Mother Counts has programs in multiple countries that expand access to high quality maternity care, including in the US, where there is a shockingly high rate of maternal mortality especially among Black and Indigenous mothers. So Christy and EMC are doing good work. Christy is also the “Fundamental Changemaker in Residence” for a super fancy, expensive skincare brand called Noble Panacea. I’m sorry but that title is so silly. Just call her a brand ambassador.

Anyway, Christy was interviewed for Marie Claire and she talked about her skincare routine (predictably, a lot of $326 face creams from Noble Panacea, but she also likes regular Chapstick and Burts Bees) and how she admires women who don’t “augment” themselves as they age. She called out the late Jane Birkin as one of her inspirations for how she wants to age. Oh, and she only wears mascara for special events. Imagine being that pretty, I’m envious.

She’s a big fan of no-makeup makeup: I only wear a very tiny amount of makeup. Right now, I have on a little bit of the RMS concealer. I love the whole line—it all feels very light and clean. I’ll use a little bit of that under my eyes and then I’ll use some kind of a cheek tint, even if I have a little bit of color in my face. I always like some blush on my face. I love Westman Atelier and I also love Jones Road for a light wash. I’ll fill in my eyebrows a bit—I use a very basic Maybelline eyebrow pencil. I have so many because I used to work for them for years. I have a scar on my eyebrow so I always fill that in. I curl my lashes, but I don’t really wear mascara unless I’m going somewhere special. And that’s it!

Her thoughts on aging: Women who have stayed away from augmentation of themselves—those are the women I really admire. I love seeing a real face. A face of someone who’s lived life. I would say my beauty icons are people like Jane Birkin. They have the kind of faces I like to see and we don’t get to see as many of those in the world anymore. Jane aged in her way. She was as beautiful at the end of her life as she was early on. I will be one of those faces. I am one of those faces.

She’s a fan of regular Chapstick: I’m always grabbing lip balm. I love Burt’s Bees, but I also love good, old fashioned Chapstick. It lasts the longest. When I run, I want to wear something that’s going to last the duration of my long run. Sometimes those fancier products, or the ones that have fragrance in them, just don’t last as long. It’s good, old fashioned Chapstick that does the job. [From Marie Claire]

Her comments about aging are interesting–note what she’s saying…and not saying. She mentions “augmentation” and implies that she hasn’t done anything “augmenting” which would mean fillers. But even if she doesn’t get anything injected into her skin, it wouldn’t surprise me if Christy gets non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments like lasers, radiofrequency, or chemical peels. She does look her age–she has some settled wrinkles–but her skin looks really smooth and even-toned and I find it hard to believe even a $300 skin cream can do that. Christy is also operating on the lowest possible difficulty setting when it comes to aging. She already has one of the most beautiful faces in the whole world. It’s possible for her to opt out of invasive beauty treatments and still look better than most people because she has outstanding bone structure. Her comments come across as maybe a little judgmental towards those of us who are not so blessed and who respond to aging differently, but I don’t think she meant them that way. I think in the circles in which she moves (aka other rich ladies), it’s probably unusual not to be getting Botox and Juvederm.

Fillers Plastic Surgery

People are getting their lip fillers dissolved because the fillers migrate

I take a keen interest in beauty trends, including the more invasive types of treatments out there like injectables. For about ten years, lip fillers have been trending big time. But that plumped up look–first popularized by Kylie Jenner–may be on its way out. Celebs like Blac Chyna and Amy Schumer have recently had filler removed, and they’re not the only ones. Yahoo Life interviewed plastic surgeons, nurse injectors, and influencers who talked about how complications from fillers and changing trends are leading people to dissolve their filler.

The long shadow of the Jenndashians: Kylie Jenner has set plenty of trends in her time. From blue hair and chokers to matte lipstick and face-snatching contour, Jenner’s “King Kylie” era changed the way many young people approached style and beauty throughout the mid-2010s.

But the height of her influence, one could argue, came by way of her filled lips and accompanying pout products. “Kylie with all her Kylie Lip Kits and the filler, that was the look back then. It was crazy,” Jade Mitchell-Clyde, a 24-year-old Los Angeles-based content creator, reflects on for Yahoo Life. But recently, Mitchell-Clyde and a horde of other former filler fans have been having their injectables — lip and otherwise — removed.

Overfilling leaves the filler with nowhere to go: Ginille Brown, a cosmetic nurse practitioner based in Los Angeles, says overfilling could also contribute to the rise in migration discourse online. “When you’re just trying to force product into a space, and doing it way too quickly, and the lip hasn’t had time to expand, the [filler] goes above the border of the lip,” says Brown. “I have patients who have paper-thin lips, and they want really full lips, and I have to tell them that even if I were to put six syringes of filler in you, your anatomy is not going to allow it.”

This trend is big on TikTok: The #lipfillerdissolved, and #lipfillerremoval hashtags alone have nearly 28 million and 10 million views, respectively, and there was a 57% increase in filler reversals from 2020 to 2021, according to a 2022 trend report by the Aesthetic Society.

[From Yahoo]

Kylie Jenner was deeply influential in the lip filler craze of the early 2010s. I remember being in college and seeing Kylie with suddenly massive lips. It changed how I did my makeup, right down to the lip colors I chose. People don’t want to give the Jenndashian clan credit, but they do know how to start trends. Funnily enough though, I’ve never bought anything from Kylie’s makeup line.

While the TikTok interest in filler removal is big, I’m not sure it foretells an equally large shift in the number of people getting fillers in the first place. I think people will just start using fillers in more subtle ways and getting smaller amounts. Even one of the influencers in the Yahoo article admits that after getting her lip filler dissolved, she went back for more, just a much smaller quantity.

I got half a syringe of lip filler for the first time last year. My face is very asymmetrical and I just wanted my lips to look more even and balanced. The results are subtle, and I still look like myself, just enhanced by a couple of millimeters. A good injector, like the one I had, will not pressure you into getting more than you need. She actually stopped injecting before we had used the full vial because, as she put it, “you have room, but not that much.”

I love my lip injections and I’ll keep getting half a syringe once a year. I also believe that we shouldn’t shame people for getting injectables of any kind, even if we may disagree with their choices. But it sure is a weird time in beauty. Between fillers going out of style and the buccal fat removal craze from earlier this year, it seems like the trends are shifting back to an aesthetic of thinness, even in our faces. At least that’s the undercurrent I’m picking up on.

Fillers Plastic Surgery

People get fillers dissolved as the baby faced look goes out of fashion

For all the talk about buccal fat removal and “Ozempic face,” NY Mag’s The Cut published an interesting article about plastic surgery trends and the effects of fillers and their subsequent dissolution. The initial trend was to look more full-faced and youthful, “pillowy,” if you will. They used Kylie Jenner as their example for that. And the new trend is to look “snatched” like Bella Hadid, which includes (of course) buccal fat removal. So that involves first dissolving fillers and by the way people also dissolve fillers because they migrate and start to look crazy and the stories/videos included in the article are terrifying.

Since roughly 2016, millions of people have gone to dermatologists to put things in their faces with one particular goal: to look like sexy babies. The way they achieved this was with filler — generally acid and fat injections. This era of filler created a specific aesthetic marked by heart-shaped faces, teeny-tiny noses, and full, puffy lips and cheeks.

Quite recently, faces have begun to go the opposite way.

“I can’t remember the last time somebody asked me for big, juicy, plump lips,” says Dhaval Bhanusali, the doctor behind Martha Stewart’s ageless skin.

If you know famous faces, the transition can be defined as this: “Everyone wanted to look like Kylie Jenner. Now they want to look like Bella Hadid,” says Matthew James, a British makeup artist and beauty influencer who used fillers for ten years to look “a bit pillowy.”

One reason for the shift? It turns out fillers weren’t the elixir of youth people wanted them to be. Over time, many a filler enthusiast found the substance was actually migrating around the face.

“It was marketed as this riskless thing,” says Carly Raye, a Toronto-based content creator who got lip fillers at 20. She had a common experience: Her filler traveled, creating a ring of puffiness around her lips that various surgeons have described as the “Juvéderm mustache,” “duck lips,” or “Homer Simpson face.”

Filler could pile up anywhere. “I would smile and I had little bulges on the tops of my cheeks,” says Rosie Genute, a Jersey-based makeup artist, of her wandering under-eye filler.

Raye and Genute, like many other patients, were led to believe that minimal risks were involved and that though migration was possible, it was unlikely. What’s more, patients were often told filler would disappear quickly. That isn’t always the case. “We say that filler only lasts a year, but that’s completely false. It most often lasts a lot longer,” says Sagar Patel, a Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon.

Why all this new information about fillers now? It seems that everyone — from providers to patients — simply didn’t know that much about the stuff to begin with. And maybe they still don’t.

[From The Cut]

So I wasn’t really planning on fillers and don’t need lip injections, but this article truly terrified me. Like, you get fillers to look a certain way, but then they migrate and you end up looking another way. And yes, it’s reversible with the dissolving, like Amy Schumer and Simon Cowell talked about. But the patients in the article say that dissolving can be painful, like acid in your face, which makes sense considering the word — dissolving! And even after dissolving things might not look great. The anecdote about young woman shifting around her loose facial skin post-dissolution in the full article may haunt my dreams. The fact that there are facial trends that require this much effort, maintenance, and potential complications is a lot. Like one of the sources in the article says, it’s this pursuit of ultra-perfection that makes people think everything is fixable/changeable. And it seems exhausting! I’m exhausted enough by my skincare routine, I couldn’t imagine doing all this. Haircuts and makeup are things that should go in and out of fashion, not faces!

botox Fillers Khloe Kardashian Plastic Surgery

Khloe Kardashian is ‘offended’ when we say that she’s had 12 ‘face transplants’

Back in the day, Khloe Kardashian used to be the most natural-looking Kardashian sister. I know, it’s wild to think back to that time. After her marriage to Lamar Odom crashed and burned, Khloe decided to give herself a wild redo. She started working out like crazy, she got the Ass of Lies™ surgery, she started massively tweaking her face and a lot more. In recent years, whenever Khloe debuts a “new face,” she ends up trending on social media for days. Granted, sometimes Khloe’s “new face” is nothing more than filters and Photoshop. But even when we do see her in motion, it’s clear that she’s had a lot of work done on her face and body. Still, she’s bizarrely sticking to the “I only had one nose job” lie. LOL.

She’s not two-faced, let alone 12-faced. Khloé Kardashian said in a new interview that she can take the scrutiny she gets online, but one rumor that offends her is that she has had multiple face transplants.

“It did use to bother me when people were [saying] I’ve had 12 face transplants. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, I have?’ I was like, ‘That’s crazy,’” she said on Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast Tuesday. Kardashian, 37, could not figure out where the rumor came from, insisting once again that she has only had “one nose job.”

“It didn’t bother me. It offended me,” she shared. “I just couldn’t figure out why people thought that. I’ve had one nose job that I love. Like, I want everyone to know. … I don’t care to lie about it.”

The “Kardashians” star added, “But the transplant thing, I just want to understand why” before joking, “That sounds amazing later in life, but now, I’m good.”

While Kardashian said the rumors do not “bother” her, what really gets under her skin is the way the public compares her to her sisters. “Either with … the old me versus what I look like now … or even just comparing me to my sisters all the time. It’s like, you guys, this is what we look like, so I feel like you should know by now, and enough,” she said. “Oh, my God, I hear it all the time.”

And another false rumor she can’t stand is that O.J. Simpson is her biological father. “Come up with a new thing. I get it,” she said with a laugh.

[From Page Six]

I’ve never thought that OJ Simpson is Khloe’s biological father, but I absolutely believe that Khloe’s biological dad is probably Alex Roldan, Kris’s old friend and hairstylist. Even Robert Kardashian Sr. believed he wasn’t Khloe’s biological father, but he still adored Khloe and always raised her as his own. I’m sure it is uncomfortable for Khloe that people still speculate and theorize about her paternity, but then again – her mother, her sisters and other family members discussed it quite openly for years.

As for Khloe and her new faces… girl, don’t be obtuse. We’re not saying that you’ve literally had a dozen face transplants. We’re saying that you’ve gotten too much cosmetic work on your face for years.

Amy Schumer had the fillers in her face dissolved: ‘I looked like Maleficent’

Amy Schumer recently posted a photo from a visit to the dermatologist where she had cream on her cheeks. She wrote in the caption that she tried getting fillers but didn’t like the results, essentially, and that she was in the process getting the fillers dissolved. Her dermatologist, Dr. Jodi LoGerfo, reposted Amy’s photo and explained that dissolving fillers requires a simple injection that works quickly. Here’s what Amy and her dermatologist wrote:

I tried getting fillers. Turns out I was already full. Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #malificent thanks @drjlodnp – From Amy Schumer on Instagram

Using dermal filler can be a wonderful way to replace lost volume and enhance the face, but filler placement is extremely important! @amyschumer came to me after having filler elsewhere and we decided that where the filler was placed, was not ideal, so we dissolved it! Dissolving filler is a very simple and quick treatment. I injected hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid) to dissolve it! – From Dr. Jodi LoGerfo on Instagram

[From Instagram via People]

I didn’t know fillers could be dissolved easily other than hearing celebrities claim they were having it done, but I haven’t messed with my face yet. I googled “is it easy to dissolve fillers” and learned that there are two kinds of fillers that can’t be dissolved as they’re not made from hyaluronic acid, called Radiesse and Sculptra. The sources I found made it sound simple for the hyaluronic acid fillers as Dr. LoGerfo explained, but the sources are facilities that perform these procedures. They would claim that fillers are easy to reverse. I also went down a rabbit hole looking at before and after photos of fillers and they can make your jawline tighter and reduce undereye bags and nasolabial folds. Now I want to look into them. The before and after photos for cheek filler show some women looking like chipmunks though so I see why Amy wanted to get rid of hers. You can kind of see it in the photo she posted. My pain point for looking old/different is not high enough yet to risk looking like a marionette.

The first two photos of Amy are from December 4th and the third is from November 18th. I wonder if she just had an incompetent doctor who chose the wrong injection site. Her doctor kind of hinted that.
