George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are officially husband and wife!

That’s it, it’s official! George Clooney is officially off the market and is now Mr. Amal Alamuddin! The lavish ceremony was held yesterday at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Italy and it seems like it was truly an event to remember. Here’s the scoop from US Weekly: Saturday morning, guests were left to themselves before witnessing the pair exchange vows at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande hotel. They had the option to sip drinks downstairs, but were expected to make their way to the boats on time for the ceremony. After the pre-wedding celebrations, Clooney and his British lawyer love finally said “I do,” and received a big round of cheers around 8:45 p.m. Guests then feasted on lobster, lemon risotto, and fried polenta with mushrooms, and danced to hits from bands like Blondie, Jackson 5, Amy Winehouse, and Daft Punk. Everyone was given a code for their phones for security purposes, and were asked to leave their personal devices back in their hotel rooms. Cameras were supplied at the reception, which lasted well into the early morning. (Good thing Sunday brunch begins at 2 p.m. back at Cipriani!) Before heading home Sunday, guests will congratulate the newlyweds once more at a late dinner at the Granaries of the Republic. They won’t be packing up just their fancy attire from the night before, however. Clooney and Alamuddin gifted everyone with a framed picture of themselves. “We’re both so glad you’re here. You’ve come a long way so we’ll make it worth the trip,” a letter from the couple read. “Thanks for being here. It means the world to us.” So, basically either US Weekly is making shit up, or George and Amal had a wedding guest who can’t keep their friggin’ mouths shut. Like, what? Not even a day after the wedding and they already know what was in a private letter written to the guests by the couple? SMH. In any case, it sounds like a good time was had by all and a lot of hearts were broken now that the Silver Fox is off the market. Happy days!

America’s Royal Wedding is finally here! That’s right, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are getting married today, and gossip rags across the world are falling over themselves to try to get as many blurry pics and “source” quotes as they can about the special event. Here’s one thing we do know: last night, there was a pre-wedding dinner with the happy couple as well as wedding guests, both family and friends and fellow celebrities. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, Anna Wintour, Cindy Crawford and more were on hand for the night out in Venice, Italy, and it looks like they had a nice time. George Clooney shocked the world and broke the hearts of many women the world over when he announced his engagement to girlfriend Amal Alamuddin back in April, and it seems his path to becoming hitched is getting that much closer, since the couple got their marriage license in London this week! From DListed (I bow down at the altar of Michael K on the daily): Dlisted reader Susan sent in this picture she took today outside of Chelsea Town Hall in London of the announcement that Amal Ramzi Alamuddin and George Timothy Clooney got their asses a marriage license and plan to get married in Italy. I didn’t know that in London marriage licenses are announced on a piece of paper behind glass outside of town hall. I thought that a messenger wearing a fancy coat and a fancy hat with a fancy feather sticking out of it stood at the top of the stairs, pulled out a scroll and read, “Here ye, here ye, here ye! Oxford-educated international human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin has obtained a license to marry Booker from Roseanne. May the failed tears of gold digging, fame whore cocktail waitresses commence!” That announcement is kind of like a magic eye poster. If you stare at it long enough, you’ll see four horsemen galloping toward you while farting out four swarms of locusts. The picture in question can be seen over at DListed – it’s blurry and not anything special, but it does go to show that the nuptials you’ll cry over for the next 6 months are forthcoming VERY shortly. So, George Clooney just got engaged…

If ever a time came when the apocalypse seemed closer than ever, that day is today, because George Clooney is apparently engaged. The world’s biggest bachelor and sexy silver fox is said to have proposed to girlfriend Amal Alamuddin. Keep in mind they’ve been dating less than a year, and the news is coming from the New York Post’s Page Six, but it seems pretty solid. Alamuddin, 36, was spotted showing off an engagement ring as she and Clooney, 52, dined at Nobu in Malibu on Thursday night with Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber. A source told Page Six, “George and Amal hoped keep the engagement quiet, but they can’t hide the fact that they are very happy.” When contacted on Friday night by Page Six, Clooney’s rep Stan Rosenfield didn’t confirm or deny the engagement, simply telling us, “I do not comment on his personal life.” Huh, very strange.
