On Thursday pled not guilty to an updated federal indictment that includes child pornography charges and allegations involving a new accuser, while prosecutors said more charges alleging yet another victim are upcoming. The government plans to file more new charges in the coming weeks, adding another accuser, prosecutor Angel Krull said during the hearing. She didn’t elaborate except to say agents recently seized more than 100 electronic devices, including hard drives, in the case. Agents wielding a search warrant hauled the items away from a storage facility outside Chicago where Kelly keeps some of his equipment, defense attorney Steve Greenberg told reporters after the hearing. “We expect that they’re not going to find anything incriminating,” he said. The possibility of new charges in yet another superseding indictment was among the reasons cited by US District Judge Harry Leinenweber to push Kelly’s April 27 trial date to Oct. 13. R. Kelly has been arrested in Chicago on sex trafficking charges, according to reports. The singer, 52, is said to have been detained by New York police detectives and Homeland Security Investigation agents. A 13-count indictment includes charges of child porn and obstruction of justice. Joseph Fitzpatrick told The Chicago Sun Times he was arrested at 7 p.m. Thursday. R. Kelly charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse
R. Kelly has been charged with criminal sex abuse in Chicago, according to new reports. The embattled R&B star was hit with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse in Cook County on Friday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, citing records. TMZ reported that a grand jury convened a week ago to investigate a sex tape that allegedly showed Kelly assaulting a 14-year-old girl. The tape was turned over to authorities by lawyer Michael Avenatti. Two women testified for the grand jury over the past week, including one who provided physical evidence, the celebrity gossip site reported. They were among as many as a dozen accusers to testify, the site said. Sources told the Sun-Times that Cook County prosecutors were appearing before a judge Friday afternoon to sign off on an arrest warrant for Kelly. The charges come weeks after the Lifetime documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly” showcased old sexual misconduct accusations against the 52-year-old singer. The post R. R&B singer R. Kelly is allegedly holding six women against their will in an abusive “cult,” according to the parents of several of the women and three former members of Kelly’s inner circle, whom BuzzFeed interviewed in an explosive new report. “Six women live in properties rented by Kelly in Chicago and the Atlanta suburbs,” the report states, citing details from Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee, who were previously in Kelly’s inner circle. “He controls every aspect of their lives: dictating what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.” Several of the women’s parents have gone to the police to try and get their daughters back. BuzzFeed reports that one Georgia family told police that their daughter is being held in a “cult” by Kelly, whom they said is “abusive and is controlling her daughter.” The mother of the same woman told BuzzFeed that her daughter “looked like a prisoner” when she last saw her, and acted as if she were “brainwashed” while continually professing her love for Kelly. A representative for Kelly denied the allegations in a statement provided to BuzzFeed. The six women living with Kelly reportedly range in age from 18 to 31 years old, and Kelly allegedly confiscates the women’s cell phones and makes them ask permission to leave the two locations in Chicago and Atlanta. BuzzFeed notes that all of six of the women are of consensual age in those two states and points out that consenting adults are free to enter “non-traditional” relationships, but three of the women’s parents are nonetheless fighting to get their daughters back. Kelly has had a history of allegations from his sexual conduct with women. He was acquitted in 2008 on 14 charges of child pornography in a six-year trial, which centered around a videotape that allegedly showed him having sex with a 14-year-old girl. Let’s go Cheek To Cheek like I did with Tony Bennett on my number one album.” (gag me — or maybe gag-a me), Gaga was thrilled to answer all kinds of questions from her fans…except anything to do with R. Kelly and Terry Richardson. The way Reddit works is you post something, and depending on how much people love or hate it, they vote the post up or down. The top most voted question in Lady Gaga’s AMA is currently unanswered by Gaga, and it is: Just wondering why you would want to work with R Kelly who was accused dozens of times for sexual assault, and Terry Richardson who was also accused several times for sexual assault, for your (cancelled) music video, which some have seen as a literal ad for rape? In the video you say “Will I ever walk again?” and R Kelly as the doctor says “Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body,” and “when you wake up you’ll be pregnant”. Then there are scenes with your “unconscious” body when R Kelly and the nurses are all climbing over you. You say you’re an ambassador for youth, and you run a youth “charity”, so why would you do something like that, knowing millions of young girls worldwide are watching your every move? Because it’s at the top, it means it’s the question people would most like her to address; Gaga hasn’t typed a single word about it. I’m disappointed, but not surprised. I’d really love to know her answer. As for what she did answer: questions about her meat dress (it was made by a butcher and held together with “some fishing line”), what her guilty pleasure music is (Garth Brooks), and what her hobbies are (“healing, meditation, and helping to take care of those around me”), as well as cooking.
