The Revenant Shows Strong Sales Despite Winter Storm Jonas Wreaking Havoc

This week has been very good for the hit movie ‘The Revenant‘ that premiered Jan 9th 2016 despite the snow storm of the East coast named “Jonas“.

Jonas snow totals have topped 30 inches in at least four states with near-blizzard conditions, record coastal flooding, and winds over 70 mph in some coastal areas.

So it makes executives wounder could the $16M already made have been much higher if the East coast was not having so many problems with people not being able to make it to the theaters and even worse tons of them not even open.

We have personally seen Revenant and can say without a doubt that this has got to be one of the very best movies that we will see in all of 2016. The acting of Leonardo Dicaprio is some of the best we have ever seen. You actually feel his triumphs and pain. For example, we will not give to much away but the fight with the bear was so damn good, you almost feel as though it is you rolling around with the massive beast.

The storm is also wreaking havoc on all other films including Star Wars, Ride Along 2, Dirty Grandpa and The Boy with estimated ticket sales much lower than expectations.

Showbiz Spy reached out to Bill Warren of Warren Theaters and he says: “Yes, the storms have had a huge effect on not only ticket sales but theater profits… it is expected that there will be about 10 blockbusters that can really effect theater profits for the entire year. We have 2 of them now (Star Wars, The Revenant) that have not seen their true potential due to the blizzards which will no doubt effect our bottom lines for the year.”

Here is the Trailer for The Revelant – which we highly recommend seeing!
