Oh, Alec Baldwin and that fiery Irish temper. He’s always lashing out at someone, but he seems to make gay people his target quite a lot, which is a bit unsettling. He’s apparently done it again to a reporter when asked about his recent stalker case. They got into a fight, he used some unsavory language and MSNBC has now taken Up Late with Alec Baldwin off air for two weeks.
Alec did apologise (again) for his fuckery, but it’s just kinda annoying me now (via MSNBC):
“I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry.
“Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support.
“I understand Up Late will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week. I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at MSNBC – both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology.”
SMH. Do I think Alec Baldwin is really homophobic? I used to think definitely not, but now I’m not so sure. When your default thought when pissed off is to use gay as an insult, methinks there may be an issue there.
