The Dusty Saltines cannot get over the fact that the Duchess of Sussex is free, happy, rich and successful. The royal commentators have been workshopping various criticisms of Meghan’s birthday video and they can’t decide which one is the “real reason” why Meghan’s video is bad. We’ve heard that the video was too sugary, too on-brand, too glossy. We’ve heard that the actual mentorship project is awful, because reasons. We’ve heard that Meghan is awful because she dares to have a stone fireplace and a husband who juggles outside of her office window. But did you know that Meghan was also mocking the QUEEN in her birthday video? It’s true, according to Angela Levin:
Anyone else think that Meghan and her friend Melissa McCartney were mocking the Queen in the birthday video? Both holding old fashioned cup and saucer like Meg used in her blog after 1st meeting with queen. Melissa sipping from the cup wearing fancy hat and gloves?

The mockery shows what she thinks of the Royal Family. She’s got what she wanted and is confident she can outsmart us all. We just have to wait for Harry’s outpouring in his memoir.

If I’m being honest, I do think Melissa’s get-up was meant to mock. Not specifically mockery of the Queen, but the British establishment, the hat-wearing, tea-drinking, gatekeeping a–holes who looked down their noses at Meghan. Melissa was mocking the Angela Levins, the Camilla Tomineys, the Ingrid Sewards. They know it too, which is why they’re trying to make it into “Meghan was mocking the QUEEN!”
As for the tea thing… I think Meghan just enjoys a cup of tea. Was it mockery or was she just… drinking tea? Anyway, it’s certainly curious how many different arguments these people have tried to make for why the video and the project are bad!
