Jennifer Aniston still hasn’t set a wedding date

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have been engaged for several years now, and while Jen has said before that she’s in no hurry to walk down the aisle, you’d have thought they’d maybe have started to plan a ceremony by now. That hasn’t happened, however, and while chatting with her real-life friend Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen’s show this week, the pair joked about the secrecy surrounding Jen’s big day. Via US Weekly: “I am your friend and I know a lot about you, but if I weren’t your friend, I have to discuss the crazy constant rumors of the wedding,” DeGeneres said, introducing the topic of marriage to the conversation. “I know that I’ll know when the wedding is, but sometimes, because it is so secretive, when we’re invited [over] we’re like ‘I’m not in town….but should we be in town?’” she continued. Aniston admitted it was a common concern! “Our friends Sacha [Baron Cohen] and Isla [Fisher] showed up for four little gatherings, about a year ago, in beautiful wedding wear. Even for the 4th July last year, Sacha was in a powder blue suit, and Isla was in a little cute dress and we were like, ‘Guys, it’s 4th July, we were in cut offs, eating hot dogs. We will actually let you know!’” The 45-year-old actress revealed the questioning gets even worse around the holidays. “For Thanksgiving, a friend of mine said, ‘I can’t come this year, but should I?’” DeGeneres understood the dilemma. “That one time that Portia and I called, and it was very secretive, like there may be a thing this weekend, we’ll let you guys know where it is, and what time. And we were like, ‘Oooh, should we make that?’” the show host recalled. “But you didn’t come,” Aniston added, laughing. “We didn’t come because we didn’t need to,” agreed DeGeneres, cracking up. “I’m very busy. There has to be a wedding for me to stay in town! So why do you think Jennifer and Justin haven’t tied the knot yet? I don’t think you need to get married to be committed, by any means, but if it’s not important to have that piece of paper, why even bother to get engaged? Demi Lovato has “nothing in common” with Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato used to be BFF growing up. As Disney stars, they hung out in the same circles and helped each other navigate such extreme fame at a young age. So are they still friends? Eh, not really – and Demi shed some light on why not during an appearance on Boston’s The TJ Show, when a caller asked her about their relationship. From US Weekly: One caller asked Lovato whether she and Cyrus were still pals, which was followed by an awkward response from the “Heart Attack” singer. After a long pause, Lovato responded: “Umm, yeah… that. We’re like, acquaintances.” The Sonny With a Chance star, 22, then attempted to explain why she and the former Hannah Montana actress had drifted away from each other. “Yeah, it’s life and people change,” Lovato reasoned. “And you, know, I don’t have anything in common with her anymore, and I wish her all the best.” Huh, you mean you don’t like weed and dildos? BORING! In all seriousness, people just grow apart. How many of your childhood friends are you still BFF with as adults? None for me – though I do still occasionally speak to one or two, not that we have anything in common anymore. Much ado about nothing, here – Miley isn’t a lot of people’s cup of tea. Bette Midler to Ariana Grande: ‘You don’t have to be a whore’

Ariana Grande is a great singer whose star is on the rise. She’s even been compared to Mariah Carey – a great honour which you must never, ever bring up in an interview (or she’ll walk out). However, a rise to the top doesn’t come easy, and for Ariana, it has meant that she’s had to play up the whole sex kitten image that clearly doesn’t suit her and that no one in their right mind believes, especially considering she looks about 12 years old (but that’s one of about 5,000 reasons). Anyhoo, one star who’s been there and done that and has some words of advice for Ariana is Bette Midler. You see, she wants Ariana know that she doesn’t need to be a whore to be famous. Via TMZ: Midler did an interview with The Telegraph, grousing about the state of the music biz. She’s particularly disgusted with Grande, saying, “It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch.” Midler goes on, “… Looking so ridiculous. I mean it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it.” And then the punch. In giving advice to aspiring singers, Midler says, “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead.” Huh. Well, look – I see where Bette’s coming from. The oversexualization of female popstars is absolutely fucking ridiculous and exhausting and it literally has zero effect anymore because it’s so overdone. However, Bette was into some pretty raunchy shit in the ’70s herself – maybe done a bit more tongue-in-cheek, but still… Also, we don’t need any more slut-shaming, regardless of how much older and wiser Bette might be now. So yeah, I can see both sides of the coin here. I wish women didn’t feel pressured to strip off and be this coquettish, cartoonish version of a seductress all the time.
