Colin Firth to star in “The Staircase” adapted from murder doc

Katherine and Michael Peterson Michael Peterson was a Novelist whose wife, Katherine, died after an apparent fall down the staircase in their home. The medical examiner said there were clear signs she had been beaten to death and Michael became the primary focus for police. There have been… seriously, like 6 documentaries, both film length and one hour tv show format, about this story.  I don’t know why, exactly, it captures peoples attention so much, but it’s a favorite among crime junkies for sure. Now it’s being made into a top of the line TV movie staring Colin Firth as Michael Peterson. Director Antonio Campos said, “This has been a project I have been working on in one way or another since 2008. It’s been a long and winding road, but well worth the wait to be able to find partners like HBO Max, Annapurna, co-showrunner Maggie Cohn and the incredible Colin Firth to dramatize such a complex true-life story.” The post Colin Firth to star in “The Staircase” adapted from murder doc appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Tom Hanks son Chet beat up by ex girlfriend

Chet and Kiana, image credit: TMZ You may remember Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, as the troubled lad who wanted to be a rapper and acted like a total fool in the process. Now he’s returned to the spotlight in a riveting piece of video and a game of he said she said. Chet is seen in a video obtained by TMZ arguing with his ex girlfriend, Kiana Parker, accusing her of stealing his money and charging her rent to his credit cards. In the clip, Parker is heard yelling “Shit” before lunging at Chet with a pot of some kind and then it cuts to black.  Chet then returns to camera revealing a bloody head. Parker, who appears with other people, can then be seen screaming that he “pushed” her. “Wow, now you’re trying to flip the story,” Chet says. The incident took place at Hanks’ house in Sugarland, Texas, on Jan. 8, according to an affidavit.  Parker called the police to file a report and received an incident number. He subsequently sued her for assault and battery, theft and return of the money she allegedly stole from him, according to TMZ.  What a shit show. Britney’s lawyer asks court to fire dad, hire Jodi full time

Britney Spears’ lawyer filed a motion with the court asking them to make Jodi Montgomery her permanent conservator. People.com says she’s “requested the resignation” of her father Jamie Spears as her permanent conservator and that Montgomery’s current role as temporary conservator be made permanent.  Something she’s wanted for a while. The document also states that Britney “reserves the right to petition for the termination of this conservatorship.” Which I think speaks volumes about Jodi that she’s given Brit the ability to get rid of her as well if not happy with her. In September 2019, Jamie stepped down as the permanent conservator due to “personal health reasons” and Montgomery took his place. Last summer, Britney filed court documents stating that she is “strongly opposed” to having her father return as sole conservator of her affairs and finances and “strongly prefers” Montgomery “continue in that role as [she] has done for nearly a year.” Jodi and her husband Jack actually run a sort of conservatorship business.  It’s in Southern Cali and “offers expertise in managing businesses, working with limited partnerships, resolving contentious family issues, maximizing and protecting the value of intellectual property rights, managing real property assets, and developing and executing plans to optimize trust finances,” according to the website. Ron Livingston to play Barry Allen’s father in The Flash

Justice League just debuted on HBO Max, Warner Bros a few days ago, but already it’s been revealed there a slight casting change in their DC Extended Universe moving forward. Ron Livingston has signed on to replace Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, the incarcerated father of Barry Allen. a.k.a. The Flash (Ezra Miller), via Variety. Crudup played Henry Allen in both the 2017 theatrical version of Justice League and the ‘Snyder Cut,’ though he is not returning due to scheduling conflicts with his Apple TV Plus series The Morning Show. Unbeknownst to me, Ron has been working steadily since I last saw him in Office Space.  So good for you Ron!
