Alyson Hannigan Gets Restraining Order From Online Stalker

Alyson Hannigan Gets Restraining Order Against Online Stalker 2013

Alyson Hannigan can hopefully sleep a little better tonight because she’s been awarded a temporary restraining order from a stranger that has continuously threatened her and her family online.

A judge made an order Wednesday that requires 43-year-old, New Hampshire resident John Hobbs, to stay away from Hannigan and her family. The order also states that Hobbs may not post any messages about her online.

According to ABC News, the 38-year-old actress stated that in the past couple months, her stalker “posted a barrage of threatening messages” that were directed at her and her family “on various websites.”

She went on to say that this man sent her messages that suggested that he’d rape her and would take her to the “afterlife”. She also pointed out that he’d recently been released from the mental hospital.

She wrote, “I am in severe fear for my safety and the safety of my family.”’

When police in New Hampshire contacted Hobbs, he admitted to wanting to meet up with the actress in California where she resides.

Says one officer, “Hobbs seemed to be living in an alternate reality.”

Hannigan will have a chance to extend the restraining order for three years at a scheduled hearing on March 6th in L.A.

It’s good to hear that Hannigan and her family got this order. Hopefully Mr. Hobbs can get the care and attention that he needs.
