Josh Duhamel reveals he’s on testosterone to stay ‘virile’ for his 31-year-old wife

Many female celebrities have begun speaking out about going through menopause. I really appreciate those kinds of stories. Well, now male celebrities have entered the chat. Josh Duhamel is stepping up to speak for middle-aged men.

Josh participated in a Men’s Health Lab panel last week to promote his new wellness company, Gatlan Health. Gatlan aims to help men with hormone treatments, medical weight loss, and hairline treatment. Josh, 52, shared that he recently realized that he was feeling off. He saw a doctor and discovered that he had low testosterone levels. Josh decided to take testosterone to stay “virile” for his 31-year-old wife.

Josh Duhamel, 52, said that his wife was a factor in his decision to begin hormone replacement therapy. “It’s important for her that I stay as young and virile for as long as I can,” the actor said of his wife Audra Mari, 31. Duhamel and Mari wed in 2022.

Outside of his intimate life, the actor elaborated on other facets of his personal life that the hormone replacement therapy has positively impacted. “I think that there is an overall wellness, you know, just for just for those purposes alone … ,” he said.

The actor continued, “Just having that energy, that that that desire to go out and achieve, be a better dad, be a better brother, be a better friend, be a better business owner, you don’t taper off like you would normally—and I think that that’s also one of the benefits of it, mentally and physically.”

Duhamel shares son Axl, 11, with ex-wife Fergie. The couple divorced in 2019. He shares son Shepherd, 1, with Mari.

When it came to the decision to begin taking testosterone, Duhamel revealed that he had low levels of the hormone when he was tested by a doctor. “I’d been hearing about this for a while—about testosterone replacement therapy—and it was one of those things that I didn’t want to talk about, neither did anybody I was asking about it,” he said.

The actor continued, “And I think that it was just, I took an inventory, a personal inventory, of how I was feeling, and I knew that I wasn’t quite where I was at five, 10, years before. That’s when I got myself tested, and realized my levels were low, and that’s when I decided to start doing it.”

Duhamel reflected further on how taking testosterone has positively impacted his physical strength. “It’s just one of those things that just changed my world. I literally got my mojo back. And now it’s become, not so much about the aesthetics of it, as much as it is being around for my kids and being able to roll around the dirt with them like I could have when I was younger,” he said.

Duhamel’s conversation with Men’s Health comes as he begins his journey as the co-founder of Gatlan Health. Gatlan Health works to “help men reclaim their strength, confidence, and vitality through cutting-edge solutions and a holistic approach to wellness,” per the official website.

The first thing that struck me when I read Josh’s story was just how easy it was for him, a man, to get tested and then begin hormone replacement therapy. If only it were that easy for everyone who needs HRT. I’ve heard first-hand and read a lot of stories/comments online from women who have to beg for medical intervention to help them with menopause.

That said, I have zero problems with Josh taking testosterone to treat any of the other low T symptoms he was suffering from. That’s what modern medicine is for! I did not have “Josh Duhamel starting a men’s wellness brand” on my bingo card, but here we are. I appreciate him sharing his story because we live in an era with a disturbing, renewed focus on toxic masculinity and a constant demand for men to prove that they are “real” men. If Josh can break through to even one man that’s struggling but too embarrassed to admit something’s wrong, then that’s great!

Jennifer Lopez in Valentino at the ‘Shotgun Wedding’ premiere: amazing?

Here are some photos of Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel at last night’s LA premiere of Shotgun Wedding. This movie won’t be in theaters – you can stream it on Amazon Prime Video. Which makes sense, I guess? This was a pretty troubled production with Armie Hammer getting fired/stepping away right before the production began and Josh flew in last minute to replace him. Plus, this was filmed as J.Lo was dumping Alex Rodriguez! Remember that? Amazing.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to figure out the design of J.Lo’s dress. I think the design is: a body-con, nude bodysuit with a bright yellow bow around the waist, then a sparkly transparent dress “overlay.” The fact that the yellow bow is underneath the sparkly overlay has broken my brain. The dress is Valentino! She loves Valentino.

I was disappointed that Ben Affleck didn’t walk the red carpet with his wife, but Ben did come out for the premiere afterparty. It looks like J.Lo went somewhere and changed into a minidress and she also picked up Ben, who was very affectionate with her at the party. So everything is fine in Bennifer World.

Josh Duhamel and his wife Audra Mari make their red carpet debut

Josh Duhamel kind of fell off my radar after he and Fergie announced their divorce 2017. I guess he’s been doing his rom-com and action movie thing and he dated Eiza Gonzalez for a little while in 2018. According to earlier coverage, Josh met and began dating a 28-year-old former Miss World America named Audra Mari, then he and Fergie finalized their divorce in 2019, and then he proposed to Audra. They got married a couple of weeks ago in North Dakota and made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Josh’s new movie, Bandit.

Josh Duhamel is in marital bliss!

The actor and his wife Audra Mari made their first red carpet appearance since getting married in Fargo, North Dakota earlier this month, attending the premiere of the actor’s new movie Bandit on Wednesday at Harmony Gold Theatre in Los Angeles.

On the carpet, Duhamel looked dapper in an all-black suit. Mari, a model and 2016’s Miss World America, was equally fashionable in a black dress with a high-low hemline and exaggerated shoulders.

The newlyweds, who tied the knot on Sept. 10, got cosy as they stood arm-in-arm while posing for photographers.

When asked about married life with Mari, 28, Duhamel, 49, told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m lucky. I’m very, very lucky.”

In regards to their wedding day, he added the “most memorable moment was seeing her [in her wedding gown.]”

Bandit — which is based on a true story — stars Duhamel as Gilbert Galvan Jr., who escaped a Michigan prison and went on the run to Canada where he robbed 50 banks in three years. The film will be released in theaters on Friday.

Following their wedding, in an interview with Vogue Australia, Mari shared that their special day almost did not happen.

The morning of their nuptials, the actor ended up in the emergency room after injuring his back the night before. She told the magazine he had been “pulling some wild dance moves on the party bus,” which caused a slipped disc.

“Cue the cortisone shot and let’s get married!” she said, remembering her reaction to the unanticipated ordeal.

She and Duhamel did go on to get married on schedule, tying the knot in North Dakota on the rooftop of the area’s Jasper Hotel.

[From People]

After their wedding, they rode in the back of a cool, vintage, red convertible. Fun! So, unsurprisingly, Audra is 28 and Josh is 49. Um, they look better matched than, say, Dane Cook and his young fiancee. Josh definitely looks older than Audra, but it looks more like a normal large age gap and not like he started dating one of his friend’s daughters. It seems like they met when Audra was already in her mid-20s (Leo would never) so that’s a plus. But, um, if your groom slips a disc just from dancing the night before the wedding, maybe he’s a little old for you? Anyway, it’s good he’s okay and they were still able to go ahead with their wedding. I’ve never been to North Dakota, but I’m sure they had a beautiful wedding there. They look happy in their red carpet photos. They’re quite a tall couple.

Engagements Josh Duhamel

Josh Duhamel proposed at the last minute without a ring: still romantic?

As I mentioned when we discussed Josh Duhamel stepping into the Mighty Ducks: Game Changers role, he was recently engaged to his 28-year-old girlfriend, Audra Mari. I don’t know much about Audra. She was Miss World in 2016 and they’ve been dating since 2019. We know that Josh’s ex-wife, Fergie, congratulated the couple on their engagement, which is a nice sign of harmony in the family. While promoting his partnership with Heluva Good! Dips, Josh let us in on a few details about the actual proposal. The couple was vacationing in the Florida Keys were he was inspired to stage a proposal involving a message in a bottle to wash up on shore. That’s a cute concept and fortunately the bottle didn’t wash into the hands of some obsessed fan who now thinks she’s Josh’s intended. The only downside to the impromptu proposal was Josh didn’t have some of the normal proposal props, like a ring.

The right time. Josh Duhamel knew the exact moment that he wanted to propose to fiancée Audra Mari, but his surprise proposal left him without one crucial item.

“I just sort of decided last minute that was how I wanted to do it,” Duhamel, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly while talking about his proposal on Tuesday, January 25. “I didn’t have anything planned. I didn’t have a ring yet. I was like, ‘OK, you gonna do this today. Today’s the day.’ And that’s just how it all kind of happened.”

Even though the Transformers star was on vacation in the Florida Keys with Mari, 28, he still wanted to pop the question in a “beautiful” way and settled on sending the former pageant queen a literal message in a bottle. “I coordinated with [the concierge] there to make sure that bottle was floating up to shore as we were walking out there,” Duhamel recalled while promoting his Heluva Good! Dips partnership.

[From Us]

I think it’s sweet that Josh got caught up in the moment. In my hierarchy of proposing, that would be more important to me than having a ring present. But, of course, that’s me. And coincidently, how it happened for me. My husband proposed with no ring, concierge, ocean or message in a bottle present. So I guess I’m biased. Plus, this way Audra can help select her ring.

The Us article gave a little more information on the couple. Josh said they were long distance for a while due to the pandemic. Audra had moved back to her hometown of Fargo, North Dakota at the start but they made it work. Josh also said the distance is what probably delayed the engagement. That makes sense. Most importantly, though, he said Audra and his eight-year-old son, Axl, have a strong bond and that Axl’s “very excited” about their engagement. That would explain Fergie’s approval. So you know what – good for them. It’s a hell of an age gap and hopefully Josh has left his wandering ways, but they sound good on paper at least.

Emilio Estevez Josh Duhamel Television

Josh Duhamel is replacing Emilio Estevez in The Mighty Ducks series

Disney’s Mighty Ducks were left to wander the ice when the actor who played their coach, Emilio Estevez, lost his job on The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers series. Initially we heard that Estevez refused to comply with the vaccine mandate, but he half denied that, citing long covid. Fortunately, the Ducks have found their new coach. Newly engaged Josh Duhamel is filling the spot. Josh will play Gavin Cole, a former professional hockey player. Josh is available because his big Netflix show, Jupiter’s Legacy, got cancelled. But Jupiter’s loss is the Duck’s gain. Fortunately, Disney is rewriting season two around the new character and not just trying to shoehorn him into the existing story.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers went through a massive change between Seasons 1 and 2 when star Emilio Estevez’s departure was announced. As the face of the franchise and arguably the biggest name attached to the Disney series, losing Estevez raised the big question of who could possibly fill his shoes… or hockey skates, as the case may be. Now, the show has cast none other than Transformers and Jupiter’s Legacy alum Josh Duhamel to replace Estevez.

That’s not to say that Duhamel will be playing Gordon Bombay in a recast, however. THR reports that he has been cast to star in Season 2 as a former pro hockey player who has become a coach. Named Gavin Cole, he applies the lessons he learned (and teaches) from hockey to life, and has a knack for inspiring and charming… while also getting intense about the training for the Mighty Ducks in the next chapter of their story on Disney .

The Mighty Ducks players wind up training under Gave Cole when they head to a hockey institute for a summer camp, which will be the setting of Season 2 in a departure from the first season. Still, there will be familiar faces from the Season 1 cast of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, including Gilmore Girls’ alum Lauren Graham. She previously had to leave behind a role on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist to come to the Disney show.

[From CinemaBlend]

I haven’t watched The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers yet, so I a commenting from a outsider’s perspective, but this sounds like a clever approach. First off, I think Lauren Graham and Josh will play very well off each other. And I like changing the venue for the show and having the kids come to Cole’s turf. It’s smart to shake it up because Coach Bombay was such an established character and the heart of the team. Josh playing an ex-pro coach at a hockey institute sounds intriguing. Plus, Josh is always nice to look at. This is where I remind you that I once stood in a kitchen not three feet from him. He was holding his little sausage dog at the time and OMG, the man is sex on legs. I know the rumors, which are probably all true. But let me tell you, I get why people would ignore the rumors for a shot with him, too.

As mentioned above, Josh is engaged to his 28-year-old fiancée, Audra Mari. Since we know Josh was scouting a baby-making partner, I assume that a secure TV series falls right into Josh’s procreating schedule.

Oh God No: You Won’t Believe What Fergie Named Her Baby

fergie josh duhamel axl

Fergie and Josh Duhamel welcomed their baby boy this morning. Hope she’s feeling maternal by now. What is with all the damn babies being born this month (and this whole summer?) Do people get super bored and super randy in the winter season?

They named their kid…get ready for this…Axl. Yes, after Axl Rose. AXL. Um.

Fergie is doing great after giving birth via C-section and is, according to TMZ, “recuperating in style, staying in one of the V.I.P. suites famously used by celebrities like Kim Kardashian.”

I know she’s a Guns ‘N Roses fan, but this is a bit much. Of course it’s her kid and she can name it whatever the hell she wants; not saying she can’t. It’s practically required of celebs to give their kids unusual names.

What are your thoughts on the name?
