Anyway… The song, Texas Hold’ Em, is a banger. It’s classic country. I’m not a country person, but in the 80’s I was totally a fan. Dolly Parton, Juice Newton, Kenny Rogers, I loved it!!! This is such retro throw back country.
And the queen of country, Dolly Parton herself, recognized the feat greatness of the song and acknowledge the accomplishment of being the first black woman to top the country charts!
Dolly took to her instagram to say “I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,” Parton wrote in a statement via Instagram. “So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single.”
That’s gotta be a compliment Bey appreciates. Love the album!!
