Lana Del Rey has another music video out. It’s a cover of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood’s “Summer Wine.” Recently she did a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel No. 2″ that I love and I think most you hated. That’s okay.
The video is sure to inspire lots of eye rolling anger, as the entire thing looks like it was filmed with a broken Super 8 camera and produced by a team of the finest hipsters. Taking on the Lee Hazelwood role is her real-life boyfriend (fiance?) Barrie-James O’Neill of the “Scottish alternative folk band” Kassidy.
To be honest, if you don’t like Lana Del Rey, this is not the song or video that’s going to change your mind. Best avoid it. Even I’m a little “ugh.”
She’s also contributing to The Great Gatsby film soundtrack. So get ready for a “summer” of Lana.
