Peaches Geldof Peaches Geldof, 25, died in April 7 at her home in Wrotham, England. A few months later, a British coroner officially ruled that Geldof had died of a heroin overdose. 5. Lisa Robin Kelly Lisa Robin Kelly died in her sleep from multiple drug intoxification on August 14, 2013. She was 43 years old at the time. 6. Cory Monteith Rest in peace, Cory Monteith. Pres. Obama’s final WH Correspondents Dinner: hilarious or bittersweet?
Embed from Getty Images President Barack Obama attended his final White House Correspondents Dinner last night, and as is usually the case, he was much funnier than the comedian guest. I enjoyed last year’s comedian, SNL’s Cecily Strong, but I could see how Larry Wilmore would be a good choice for Obama’s final WHCD. While Wilmore had some strong jokes – the childlike glee of the “Zodiac Killer” line was genuinely a favorite – Wilmore’s reception was pretty mixed and he misread the room at times. We’ll have more coverage and photos from the event tomorrow, I just wanted to post the speeches today. As for Obama, he just had so many great one-liners about Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, Michelle, his presidency and more. Around the 24-minute mark of this video is the special video the White House made called “Couch Commander” about what he’s going to do in DC post-presidency. Yeah… I’m going to miss Obama so much when he leaves office. No matter who wins the presidency, I’m really just going to miss him. We had a “cool” president, a funny president, but even more than that: we had a smart, compassionate, even-tempered president. And here’s Larry Wilmore’s bit. He made a lot of “black jokes” and he even used the n-word at the end of his speech. It made me uncomfortable, but Obama rolled with it. Glee Star’s Boyfriend Found Dead
Well this is just awful. Almost a year after Cory Monteith’s death, another Glee actress is experiencing the pain of losing someone. Actress Becca Tobin, who plays Kitty Wilde on the show, is dealing with the loss of her boyfriend, Matt Bendik, who was found dead in a hotel room in Philadelphia. Here’s the story, from the Daily News: Matt Bendik’s body was discovered a little after 1 p.m. Thursday by a maid at the Hotel Monaco, police said. It’s unclear where Tobin – who found fame in 2012 by playing cheerleader Kitty Wilde in the hit Fox TV series – was at the time. But police said there were no obvious signs of foul play and the body of 35-year-old Los Angeles nightclub owner was taken to the Medical Examiner for an autopsy, Philadelphia media reported. No drugs or paraphernalia were found in the room Bendik and Tobin, 28, had been sharing either, TMZ.com reported. And the couple, who were in Philadelphia on a business trip, appeared to be happy. They had reportedly been out with friends on Wednesday night. Just four weeks ago, Tobin posted a black and white Instagram picture of herself kissing Bendik on the cheek. [above] As word of Bendik’s death spread, Tobin’s fans posted messages of support beneath the sweet photo. “Stay strong Becca!” wrote one of them, Brittany Heath. “We love you!” Bendik, who ran the Hollywood hot spots DBA and AV, was a go-getter who was just 15 when he got into the nightclub business. Not much to say here other than, again, this is just awful. I wonder what happened. It sounds drug related, even though no drugs were found. I’m not sure what else could happen though to a 35-year-old to cause sudden death. But right now, it could be anything, so it isn’t fair to jump to conclusions. I think speculation is okay though. What do you think happened?
Naya Rivera is banned from the ‘Glee’ set
Oh dear, Naya Rivera is having some trouble lately, isn’t she? There was that whole drama with Big Sean and how she accused him of stealing her Rolexes because she’s more famous and richer than he is, then the reports that she was feuding with Lea Michele and trying to get her kicked off set. Well, apparently her bullshit is not welcome on the Glee set, as she’s been banned from coming there and entirely written out of the last two episodes because of it. From Radar Online: “Naya has had a lot of issues this season,” a source close to the situation told Radar. “She has been fighting with all of the lesser known directors but when veteran Brad [Falchuck] came back she caused trouble with him and that’s when the drastic measures were taken.” “She is NOT allowed on the Glee set anymore. Brad said he had had enough and spoke to all of the executives and the decision was made to write her off the last two shows of the season for causing drama all season.” The production tried to manage the situation for the entire season, and Rivera’s troubles were raised to the top of the company. “Fox sent her TWO notices telling her that they were planning to take legal action against her for all the time that she was missing because of her tantrums and walking off the set,” the source revealed to Radar. “Naya promised that she would change her ways and she begged them to give her more chances, saying that she wouldn’t cause any more drama. But they finally decided that the show couldn’t go on with her disrupting production so they wrote her off the show. “She’s not even allowed back on the lot where they film. Her Paramount pass has been revoked and the production team packed up her trailer with all of her belongings and shipped it to her house.” LOL, I love when people get too big for their boots and try to cause drama, only to have their whole shit shut down. No one will hire this girl – she’s not even talented, and sorry guys, she’s NOT hot, either (though I’m sure she could book a few half-naked photoshoots to get a bit more money in the bank before she fades into complete obscurity) so I don’t think a Kim Kardashian-style career is in the books for her, either.
