Gigi Hadid Lost Weight Because of Thyroid Disease

While the topic of Gigi Hadid weight loss is still hot, here’s a new twist – the model’s significant weight loss was not intentional, but caused by a thyroid disease. On the fact that she never wanted to lose weight and her skinnier figure is the result of a thyroid disease: “My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto’s disease. It’s a thyroid disease, and it’s now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the VS show I didn’t want to lose any more weight, I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that’s good.” … says Gigi. After Gigi made the revelation about her illness, various media sources started to do a little research and pointed out that Hashimoto’s disease causes weight gain, not weight loss – in addition, others said that patients do not experience symptoms major once they get the right treatment, like Gigi has for the past 2 years. Gigi Hadid Was ‘Not Thin Enough, Not Tall Enough’ for Tommy Hilfiger

In the past year and a half, Gigi Hadid has lost a significant amount of weight, fact which we’ve documented in our previous posts. Turns out that around one and a half year ago, Gigi was considered too short (she is 5’10” / 179 cm) and too fat to model anything else than an oversized poncho for Tommy Hilfiger. Here are more details from People: Gigi Hadid seems to have it all: more magazine covers than any other model this year, every major catwalk under her belt, a standing invitation to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway and pose for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, a killer squad of fellow models, a cute boyfriend who lets her wear his shoes … we could go on. She’s even moved into the role of muse for Tommy Hilfilger, collaborating with him on a clothing line and serving as the face of his fragrance. But things weren’t always so golden for the model and the designer. For Hadid’s first turn down the runway for Hilfiger in February 2015, Hilfiger recalls a casting dilemma. “Our casting director said, ‘She doesn’t really fit because you know she’s not quite as tall as the other girls, she’s not quite as thin. So they put a red, white and blue poncho on her, it covered a lot of her body unfortunately, but it received millions of hits,” he told Yahoo Style’s Joe Zee. “So I said, you know, why don’t we ask her to design a line with us. So I said, Gigi come design this with me, we’ll do a Gigi x Tommy couture line.” Although Gigi was considered too fat to model regular clothes, the brand chose her to rock bikinis: It’s worth noting that, though Hadid was deemed “not quite thin” enough for any non-poncho apparel in February, by September, Hilfiger had her in a crochet bikini leading a cabal of models down a beach-inspired runway. And a few months after that, their clothing collaboration was announced. And though it may serve as small comfort for being publicly poncho-shamed by your design partner, Hilfiger did deliver her a compliment, saying she’s an “All-American girl next door with an exotic twist to her look.” Gigi these days: See more recent pictures of Gigi next! Amy Schumer” “If you weigh over 140 pounds, if you’re on the screen, it will hurt people’s eyes”

The full story from Huffington Post: In an upcoming episode of the U.K.’s “Jonathan Ross Show,” which airs Saturday on ITV, [Amy Schumer] opens up about being told to lose weight for her movie, “Trainwreck.” “The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie [”Trainwreck”] that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you’re on the screen it will hurt people’s eyes,” the 35-year-old said. “I didn’t know that, so I lost some weight to do that, but never again.” The admission is a little surprising coming from Schumer, who famously accepted Glamour magazine’s Trailblazer of the Year award in 2015, telling the crowd, ““I’m, like, 160 pounds right now, and I can catch a dick whenever I want, and that’s the truth.” However, the fact that she had to lose weight is unfortunately just par for the course in Hollywood and not at all shocking. Prince Harry admits he didn’t talk about his mother’s death until he was 28

It does feel like I’ve been ignoring Prince Harry, right? I didn’t mean to. It’s just that he’s so consistently awesome these days, and I feel like sometimes you guys might be tired of Honking For Harry. So, what has Harry been up to recently? He’s doing consistent events every week, but he’s not always getting attention and coverage for the events. Over the weekend, he hosted a barbecue for Heads Together, the mental health umbrella organization he started with William and Kate. William and Kate did not attend the BBQ, even though it went down at Kensington Palace. Harry spent a lot of time with mental health care providers and people struggling with mental health issues. Harry even spoke about how he wish he had started talking about his mother’s death much sooner. Prince Harry has revealed that he regrets ‘not talking’ about the death of his mother Princess Diana for much of his life. Speaking with former football star Rio Ferdinand, who lost his wife to cancer last year, Harry, 31, discussed bereavement at a Kensington Palace barbecue for mental health campaign group Heads Together. The young royal discussed the impact the Princess of Wales’ death in 1997, when Harry was 12, has had on him when asked by Ferdinand how he coped with the loss. The prince admitted that it was only three years ago that he began to open up about how he felt about losing his mother, saying he didn’t speak about Diana’s death ‘for the first 28 years of my life.’ He said he’d come to realise that talking was the key: ‘It is OK to suffer, but as long as you talk about it. It is not a weakness. Weakness is having a problem and not recognising it and not solving that problem. A lot of people think if you’ve got a job, if you’ve got financial security, if you’ve got a family, you’ve got a house, all that sort of stuff, everyone seems to think that is all you need and you are absolutely fine to deal with stuff.’ ‘It is very easy for someone to look at someone like Rio Ferdinand and say, “You get paid all the money in the world, you are a successful footballer, you have fast cars.” But at the end of the day his wife was snatched from him at an early stage of his life with her. So of course he is going to suffer, it doesn’t matter if he has an amazing job.’ The prince said the ‘key message’ is that ‘anyone can suffer from mental health problems, whether you’re a member of the Royal Family, whether you’re a soldier, whether you’re a sports star, whether you’re a team sport, individual sport, whether you’re a white van driver, whether you’re a mother, father, a child, it doesn’t really matter. What you’ve had to go through in your day, week, year, (the) experience you’ve had – whether it’s losing a parent, whether it’s depression, whether it’s anxiety, whatever it is – you are actually unbelievably similar to each other in the way you have to deal with it.’ [From The Daily Mail] I just love him. And notice that his message seems contrary to the often-bungled message from the Duchess of Cambridge, who often seems to indicate that mental health issues mostly occur when children don’t have two parents and a home. Harry’s message is universal. And I like how personal he is, talking about his mother and how he closed up and didn’t talk about her death for sixteen years. While talking (and talk therapy) doesn’t solve every mental health problem, it’s the first step and just talking about it and de-stigmatizing mental health issues is a great thing. It’s a shame that Will and Kate wanted to go sailing instead. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Jamie Otis Shares Heartbreaking Message to Baby She Miscarried

Jamie Otis has shared an emotional message on Instagram… to her late baby. As previously reported, Otis and Doug Hehner (who met and got married on the reality series Married at First Sight) lost their first child due to a miscarriage last week. The tragic event took place just a few days after they went public with Jamie’s pregnancy. Soon afterward, Otis wrote a post on her official blog, trying to put the pain of this loss into words. “My heart is so heavy,” she wrote at the time. “There are no words to express the pain and sorrow associated with losing our baby Hehner.” On Saturday, meanwhile, Otis continued to mourn by posting a collage of the famous couple in happier times. She included with this photo a message to the late child himself. “Not a day goes by that I don’t wake up thinking of you, Baby Hehner,” Otis wrote. “I know I have to get back to ‘normal life’ but I just don’t know how to. Today daddy and I are going to pick out a perfect name for you. We love you so much. “I hope you’re bouncing on clouds and feeling loved all the way up in heaven. #ourangel #LoveYou #angelbaby.” One day earlier, as posted above, Otis also relayed a telling quote in honor of her baby. It read: “We never had the chance to play, to laugh, to rock, to wiggle. We long to hold you, touch you now and listen to you giggle.” Otis, who also appeared on The Bachelor a few years ago, now works as a nurse. She met Hehner on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and defied the odds by remaining happily married to him. The two then documented their life as a married couple on spinoff series titled Married at First Sight: The First Year. Doug grieved about his wife’s miscarriage in a touching Instagram post last Wednesday, July 13, writing on his social media account: “#BabyHehner even though you could only leave us with your footprints, you will forever remain in our hearts. “@jamieotis and I love you! Thank you everyone for your love and support.”

Kim Kardashian is going to drag Taylor Swift in an upcoming ‘KUWTK’ episode

I’m always worried that interesting, fun gossip is going to fall off a cliff when we get to the sultry summer months, but for several years now, we’ve had some great “summer stories.” This summer’s amazing Tiddlebanging is the big story, but I think we’re also going to get a lot of pap stroll photos of Kim Kardashian this summer because she’s lost all of her pregnancy weight and she wants people to look at her body. And that’s always fun, because Kim’s style just gets worse and worse. These are photos of Kim in Malibu with her BFF Jonathan Cheban yesterday. Kim’s ensemble is a DISASTER. And it was glorious. Kim wore a matchy cowgirl look from Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli. Kim-In-Cavalli is the new “Kim in Balmain.” And while I appreciate the fact that a curvy girl like Kim can wear some major designers, she never really looks good in those clothes, probably because those clothes were designed for tall, leggy, curveless women. What bugs me about this look is the WASH. The light acid-wash denim looks so, so bad. I can’t believe we ever thought that denim wash looked good. Meanwhile, it really does look like the #TaylorSwiftPartyIsOver, especially for the Kardashian-Wests. In an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim is going to talk about the Taylor Swift-“Famous” controversy. Kim tells her mother “I did an interview with GQ,” referencing this interview. Then Kim tells the camera: “I’ve had it with people blatantly treating my husband a certain way and making it look a certain way, and I’m going to say how I feel.” Kim Kardashian is coming for Taylor Swift next week on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. pic.twitter.com/hHQ7QPEEtp — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) July 13, 2016 Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.
