Ashley Graham is pregnant with her second baby, calls year ‘full of tiny surprises’

Ashley Graham and Justin Ervin welcomed their first child, Isaac, in January 2020. The couple announced that pregnancy on their ninth wedding anniversary. Yesterday, Ashley announced her second pregnancy on her Instagram. I’m not sure how far along she is, she just walked in the Michael Kors 40th anniversary show in April and wasn’t showing. Based on the maternity photo Ashley posted to announce the pregnancy (posted below), she looks like she’s in her second trimester at least. You tend to “pop” quicker with the second, so it could be one day she wasn’t showing, the other she was. Plus, folks usually wait until the first trimester is done to announce. So, she’s probably 4-6 months into this new pregnancy. That’s exciting. People has more information on the announcement and Ashley’s family planning.

Ashley Graham is ready for round 2!

The model, 33, is pregnant, expecting her second baby with husband Justin Ervin, she announced on Instagram Tuesday. The pair, who tied the knot in August 2010, are also parents to son Isaac Menelik Giovanni, who was born Jan. 18, 2020.

“The past year has been full of tiny surprises, big griefs, familiar beginnings and new stories. i’m just beginning to process and celebrate what this next chapter means for us ❤️,” Graham captioned a maternity photo that showed off her bare baby bump, a snapshot taken by her husband.

In February, Graham said she was down for another baby in the house. Speaking with WSJ. Magazine at the time, she said, “I would get pregnant yesterday if I could,” adding that “I’ve ‘accidentally’ had unprotected sex while I’m ovulating just to see if I can while I’m breastfeeding.”

While guest-hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, Graham spoke with Amy Schumer about expanding both of their families with a second child, saying that she, personally, was “working on it currently.” She added, “Like, in this moment currently working on it.”

Oh. Okay. So clearly this pregnancy isn’t one of the “tiny surprises” to which Ashley was referring. I’m a little uncomfortable with the, “I’ve ‘accidentally’ had unprotected sex while I’m ovulating just to see if I can while I’m breastfeeding,” comment. However, I assume that was just Ashley being funny and both she and Justin were on the same page for baby two. BTW, yes. *Points to self * Yes you can get pregnant while breastfeeding, I’ll save you the investigation. It sounds like Ashley couldn’t wait to have another baby and it happened quickly for them. That’s wonderful. And to have a glimmer of hope during such a stressful year, what a lovely “next chapter” for them.

Ashley did a home birth with a birthing pool, a doula and midwives for Isaac’s birth. She got real about the pain she was in. I wonder if she’ll go the home birth route again? I’m sure she’ll give us the scoop post-birth, Ashley is pretty open about all things momming. Anyway, congratulation to the whole family. Lovely news.

Ashley Tisdale on being postpartum: ‘We can’t compare our bodies to each other’

Ashley Tisdale has a lifestyle blog called frenshe. To be totally honest, I didn’t know frenshe was Ashley’s until today. I thought they’d scored this awesome exclusive with her because they kept getting great photos of the nursery and her daughter Jupiter. It’s a good blog, well put together and the topics are varied enough that I didn’t realize it was celebrity run. One of Ashley’s latest posts was about body after baby. Like most of Ashley’s revelations, it wasn’t the usual celebrity fodder of ohmygosh! Everything is perfect! Ashley is being honest about struggling with her new shape after giving birth to Juju in March. She says that she’s worked hard and lost some of the weight, but she’s not where she thought she’d be and she’s not where she thinks other new moms are. But she’s trying hard not to compare herself, especially to other women online.

I feel like this post is for everyone who looks in the mirror and thinks they should look better, especially after just having a baby. Instagram can really fuck with your head…like really fuck with your head. There are so many models and influencers that I’ve compared my own personal journey in “bouncing back” to. And then, I’m like wait they just had a baby and they look like that??

I was recently at a friend’s place and two moms who just had babies were there saying how great I looked and that they wished they could fit into jeans. Here they were thinking that I looked great and yet I’m at home looking in the mirror thinking I could look better. That’s when I realized we can’t compare our bodies to each other.

The bottom line: be kind to yourself and fill yourself up with love. It’s okay to set a goal and be inspired by others, but we should all truly love ourselves and our bodies in every season. It’s easier said than done and I know there have been stages in my pregnancy where I have felt uncomfortable. I’m still dealing with plantar fasciitis, but even I’m working on not comparing myself to others and their post-baby journeys. Love yourself first!

[From frenshe via People]

Ashley said that she’s “worked (her) butt off” and although she’s able to get into some jeans again, she’s not the size she used to be. She echoed the adage, “it takes time growing the baby and it takes time losing the baby weight.” I know that sounds simplistic, but it is true. Ashley’s right, whether it’s new moms or anyone else, people need to stop comparing their bodies against those around them, especially what they see online. Ashley said that “everyone is going to have a different journey” and that’s also true. We shouldn’t ask ourselves why don’t I look like her? We should ask ourselves what our journey is and how far we’ve come. Now, I say that, but I wish I knew how to put it into practice because the truth is, I beat myself up all the time.

I want to speak to the jeans thing, though. I found a pair of maternity jeans that I adored. They had two side stretch panels rather that a top band and they looked great at every stage of pregnancy. I loved them so much, I was almost sorry when I couldn’t wear them anymore. So find your jeans, moms. Seriously, I didn’t ever worry about fitting into other jeans as a result. Because I had a pair that made me so happy, I really did wake up one day (many, many months post birth) only to realize I fit back in regular jeans again.

Jillian Michaels: “When you care more you train harder and eat better”

Redbook_JAN_Jillian-Michaels_edited-1-768x1024 - Jillian Michaels: "When you care more you train harder and eat better"

On why she’s so committed to working out and being healthy:

I’m a 42-year-old. I still like skinny jeans. I still prefer a two-piece instead of a one-piece, but now I have two young kids. So for me, I want to be skiing down the mountain alongside my kids instead of waiting at the bottom for them. I want to see their children graduate from college. I want to meet my grandchildren’s children. These are my whys.

On aging and why she’s in better shape now than she was in her 20s:

I care more, and when you care more you train harder and eat better. People believe that aging is this slow descent into decrepitude. That’s not true. When people say, “Oh, I’m 40 now, and this is happening to me and that’s happening to me,” it’s the cumulative effect of years of neglect, which—by the way—can still be turned around.

On why she thinks there’s too much pressure on women to get back to their pre-pregnancy bodies:

I was just talking to someone who was breast-feeding and already on a diet. I was like, “Dude, you’ve got to chill. If you start dropping more than two pounds a week, you’re going to compromise your milk supply.” The reality is that you can bounce back better than ever, but time frames vary for everyone. Everybody and every pregnancy is different. If it takes you a year, who cares?

Long-time-no-see Keira Knightley is the cover girl off the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar – and inside, the gorgeous actress talks about becoming a mom and how her priorities changed compared to her skinniest days.

On the way pregnancy changed her body and changing her perspective:

“It’s a different body, as it should be, because it’s done an extraordinary thing…I thought I was going to go, “God, I’ve got to get back into shape.” I actually went completely the opposite. I went, “F**k that, I’m not putting that pressure on myself in any way.” So it’s taken me a long time to get back into my jeans. I’m nearly there. Not quite there, but nearly there…”

… says 31 year-old Keira, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Edie in May last year.

The full story on Molly’s pregnancy weight gain from People:

“No one tells you what’s going to happen,” Sims says to a group of celebrity moms, including Haylie Duff, Garcelle Beauvais and Soleil Moon Frye, who got together for PEOPLE’s Mom Talk video series, which is now live on PEOPLE/Entertainment Weekly Network.

“With my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining 85 lbs. and had a bad thyroid problem that no one diagnosed throughout the whole pregnancy until four months later,” Sims, who is pregnant with her third child, adds. Sims, 43, who is already mom to Scarlett May, 17 months, and Brooks Alan, 4, says that during her pregnancy she had false hopes that the weight would just fall off after she gave birth.

“Sometimes, deep down, when you’re eating that Sweet Lady Jane on the 405, you think, ‘It’ll come off when I have the baby,’ ” she says.

“There’s also a lot of pressure to bounce back,” Beauvais, 48, adds. “You know who I love is Drew Barrymore! She says, ‘It took me nine months to have ’em, I don’t care how long it takes me to get it off.’ ”

Kim Kardashian in vintage satin Galliano in Las Vegas: righteous or awful?

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian in Vegas on Friday night. She attended/hosted a party at Hakkasan at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. Kim is one of the most expensive “gets” for Vegas nightclubs. If they want to go cheap, they get Scott Disick, you know? I suspect that Kim gets mid-six figures plus crazy accommodations per Vegas appearance. Kim wore vintage Galliano to the event, which… the seams seem off? And those shoes were not the best choice. But Kim looked small, and she was definitely showing off her achievement of her “goal weight,” which was to lose 70 pounds post-pregnancy. I think that puts her in the 120-130 lb range, according to Kim. It’s always so difficult to assess Kim’s weight because she’s so curvy with those boobs and that butt, but Kim really is very short and compact.

Post-receipts, Kim has returned to business as usual. It’s an interesting move, isn’t it? She’s chosen not to harp on and on about it. She’s chosen not to emphasize, on social media or in interviews, her exposure and takedown of Taylor Swift. Kim fundamentally changed the gossip landscape and she isn’t even really taking a victory lap. I suspect that there will be discussions in future interviews, and I suspect that Kim is waiting patiently to see what Taylor does next. We’ll see. Meanwhile, Kim has been talking to the press, just not about Tay-Tay. She’s been talking about her weight, and she’s been talking about her babies.

Kim Kardashian says her and Kanye West’s second child, son Saint West, is a “Daddy’s boy.” In fact, the baby told her so himself, so to speak.

“He said Dada today, three times!” Kim told E! News exclusively at the MGM Grand nightclub Hakkasan in Las Vegas Friday night. “And I was like, ‘Wait what?’ Kanye was so excited, he was like, ‘I told him to say that.’ And I was like, just I really wanted him to say ‘Mama’ first.”

And the couple’s first and eldest child, daughter North West, is the opposite of her brother.

“I have to go back and see what North said first but I think he’s, like, you know, a Daddy’s boy and North is a Mama’s girl, so we each have one,” Kim told E! News.

I’m also including some photos of Kim earlier on the day on Friday, in West Hollywood. People are freaking out about her fur-strap sandals.

Blake Lively in Emanuel Ungaro in NY: the best look of her ‘Cafe Society’ tour?

Even though I think some of these straps are unnecessary, this dress might be my favorite from Blake Lively’s promotional fashion show. Blake saved the best for last! Maybe. Blake was spotted out in NYC on Friday wearing this Emanuel Ungaro dress. So much prettier than her premiere minidress, right? This should have been the premiere dress. And if Blake has been trying to start a trend during this pregnancy, it’s with under-boob cutouts on maternity clothes. I don’t really get why that’s a thing, but here we are.

Meanwhile, Blake appeared on the Tonight Show on Friday to promote Café Society. In this clip, Blake tells Jimmy Fallon that baby James calls Jimmy “dada,” and she has the video proof.

In this clip, Blake tells other stories about baby James. James points out when anyone – man or woman – has a belly and says “baby!” James also has a little lisp so for “stand” she says “shtand” and for “sit” she says “sh-t.” Blake also made a joke: “It should be illegal to be pregnant in New York in July. I swear, I’m going to make my water break just so I can cool down.”

And there you go. Incidentally, I read Vogue’s review of Café Society, and I came away pretty disturbed about the film and Woody Allen in general. Vogue says that Blake and Kristen Stewart are set up as woman/girl archetypes, as in Blake is playing the womanly bombshell that Jesse Eisenberg has to “settle” for despite the fact that he’s in love with the girlish, Lolita-esque character played by Kristen Stewart. Jesus, that’s so gross.
