Simspons tease “Treehouse of Horrors” with Trumpy ad

Even if you stopped watching The Simpson’s back in the 90’s or early 2000’s (I lasted till 2010), you may, like me, still make room in your October for the always delightful, Treehouse of Horrors episode of the long ass franchise. This year they’re taken a look at 2020 and thought… who can top it? The teaser kicks off with Homer Simpson rushing to fill out his ballot. But before he can turn it in, he reaches an impasse. “I know who I want for all the judges and propositions, but president – that’s a stumper. Can I write in Judge Judy?” he asks. Before writing in the television personality, a mask-wearing Lisa Simpson steps into her indecisive father’s voting booth, hoping to inform his decision for president. “Dad, by all that’s decent how could you forget all that’s happened in the last four years?” Lisa says, encouraging him to reflect. After briefly thinking about the 2018 Oscars Envelopegate fiasco, Homer sees a credit-style list compiling most of President Donald Trump’s problematic moments, comments and actions scroll right in front of his eyes. The list includes a number of issues ranging from “Called Mexicans Rapists” to “Gutted the EPA.” Upon seeing the extensive list, Homer notes that some actions were bad and others were worse. As the list continues to roll, Homer realizes he has the power to elect new leadership. “Yikes, I got to do something,” he says as dramatic music begins to play. Finally, Homer puts his pen to the ballot and marks his candidate. “Pft, who you gonna make fun of now late-night comic,” he laughs. “Treehouse of Horror XXXI”, the series’ annual Halloween special, will air on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. Simpson get real trippy in new coach gag

All the scripted tv and streaming write now are of shows filmed before the virus beat us up and down and so they don’t reflect the current situation.  They show Easter Sundays with kids playing together and family meals. Or school graduations. Or any other part of daily life that is currently on hold. But The Simpsons…  A few weeks is plenty of time to get a “couch gag” together that specifically nods to the pandemic at hand. In the 1 minute opener to air on Sunday, the fam is seen doing various adventurous things from skydiving to hair whipping in the ocean.  But the scene is blue and “off”.  But that’s just because they’re using VR to explore because they’re really stuck on their sofa as well. How nice.  Enjoy it now! The post Simpson get real trippy in new coach gag appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

‘The Simpsons’ Pulls Episode Featuring Michael Jackson Voice

Home beside character voiced by Michael Jackson An episode of The Simpsons featuring the voice of pop singer Michael Jackson is being pulled from circulation amid the fallout from HBO’s shocking Leaving Neverland documentary. “I’m against book burning of any kind,” producer Jim Brooks told the The Wall Street Journal. “But this is our book, and we’re allowed to take out a chapter.” The 1991 Season 3 episode, “Stark Raving Dad,” has Homer sent to a mental institution after being mistaken for an anarchist. While confined, he befriends a hulking, gentle-voiced man who believes he’s Michael Jackson, before the fellow inmate finally admits he’s Leon Kompowsky, a bricklayer from Paterson, NJ. After years of fan speculation, series creator Matt Groenig revealed that Jackson actually voiced Kompowsky. The voice credits went to a pseudonym, John Jay Smith. Even though Kompowsky sang a few Jackson numbers in the episode, Jackson was contractually bound not to sing, so a soundalike, Kipp Lennon of the band Venice, was used. Jackson did write the song “Happy Birthday Lisa” for the episode. But that was a different time for Jackson. The airing of Leaving Neverland this week has sharply shifted perceptions of the pop singer, who survived a trial and years of innuendo and rumor surrounding his affinity for young children before dying in 2009 at age 50. The HBO documentary shows two men who allege they were sexually abused by Jackson, convincing many who were on the fence surrounding whether the eccentric Jackson had committed the abuse. Some radio stations since have pulled his music, and a dramatic reassessment of his life is underway by many who knew and worked with him.
