When a powerful and rich person in Hollywood gets into a relationship with another powerful and rich person in Hollywood, that forms what we consider a Tinseltown power couple, or as some would call it, a super couple.
We’ve compiled a list of our top ten celebrity power couples for 2013, which you can see below. Some have been together longer than others, some are young, some older, but all are very powerful in the industry, and we’re fascinated by them! [Side note: Thanks to Celebrity Smack reader Lindsay (@LindsayJ624) for giving us the idea for the list!]
Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt – They’ve been together since 2005 and have six kids. They’re not just your regular millionaire Hollywood power couple though, they’re Brangelina! Together they hold six Academy Award nominations and a win (for Jolie), and along with their gift for acting, they are both pros behind the camera as well. What puts this couple over the top though is their charity work. Their exceptional global philanthropy is what truly makes them stars.
Beyonce & Jay-Z – They are music’s version of Brad and Angelina. Two very accomplished musical icons in their own right, Beyonce and Jay-Z hold a lot of power in the industry. Both are Grammy award winners, but music isn’t their only specialty. She’s a Golden Globe-nominated actress, a fashion designer, and a director, and he’s a music producer, entrepreneur and excellent businessman. Oh and they’re parents to little miss Blue Ivy.
Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton – They are country music’s ‘it’ couple. Married in 2011 after four years of dating, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are both super successful singers and songwriters, he’s a valuable coach on The Voice, and they’re just an overall cool couple. They’re both funny as hell too and seem like they’d be a fun pair to hang out with.
Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon – A pop music icon, Mariah Carey is a Grammy-winning star, who is currently lending her judging skills to American Idol. In 2008, she married rapper, comedian, and host of America’s Got Talent, Nick Cannon, and together they have young twins…and Hollywood at their feet.
Olivia Wilde & Jason Sudeikis – She’s a beautiful, successful actress, and he’s a hilarious Saturday Night Live cast member and actor, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis are engaged to be married and are taking Hollywood by storm.
Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth – She’s a hugely successful actress and pop star and he’s the hunky actor that starred in The Hunger Games. Engaged to be married, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth seem to share a very passionate love for each other and no doubt rank high in Hollywood royalty!
Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck – She’s a Golden Globe-winning actress, who has starred in both television and the big screen, and she’s married to an Oscar-winning writer, director and actor. They’ve been married for almost 8 years and have three adorable children together. It’s Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Hollywood elite!
Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi – She’s a comedian/actress/talk show host extraordinaire, married to a cult favorite actress (with amazing hair!) that starred in one of the best television shows there ever was (Arrested Development!). It’s Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi! Together, they’re one of the sweetest couples around.
Leslie Mann & Judd Apatow (this is Lindsay’s favorite!) – They’ve been married for 15 years, have two daughters, and have worked on five movies together. Actress Leslie Mann and triple threat Judd Apatow, a film producer, director, and screenwriter, have a net worth of somewhere around $98M. All for their gift of making people laugh.
Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard – They’ve been together since 2007, are engaged to be married, and just had a baby together. Actress and sloth-lover, Kristen Bell, and her actor, comedian, writer and director fiancé, Dax Shepard, are my favorite H-wood power couple!
