Dylan Farrow Speaks About Woody Allen’s Alleged Sexual Abuse

Dylan Farrow on Abuse By Woody Allen

Dylan Farrow on sexual abuse at the hands of Woody Allen: "I'm scared of him."

Mia Farrow and her children have opened up about the alleged sexual abuse by Farrow’s boyfriend of 12-years, Woody Allen.

Farrow and Allen were together from 1980-1992, and split up once Farrow discovered Allen was having a sexual relationship with their adopted daughter, Soon-Yi. During the custody battle between Farrow and Allen, Farrow’s adopted daughter Dylan, 7, told her mother Allen had touched her inappropriately. A court battle ensued, but the sexual molestation charges were dropped to protect Dylan from having to testify at such a young age.

Dylan has never spoken publicly about the alleged sexual abuse, until now.

Mia Farrow and her children spoke with Vanity Fair in an exclusive, explosive interview in it’s November 2013 issue, where they addressed their dark past, and the sexual abuse allegations for the very first time.

Dylan Farrow, who now goes by a different name for obvious reasons, told Vanity Fair that she remembers the abuse, and she wishes she could go back in time and tell her small self to testify against Woody Allen. She refuses to ever speak his name. Dylan’s brother Fletcher Previn (son of Farrow’s second husband, André Previn), painstakingly photoshopped Woody Allen from every family photo, and edited him from every home video, so that the children might still have their memories, just without Allen.

Dylan speaks about Woody Allen’s abuse:

“I’m scared of him, his image. I have never been asked to testify. If I could talk to the seven-year-old Dylan, I would tell her to be brave, to testify.”

“There’s a lot I don’t remember, but what happened in the attic I remember. I remember what I was wearing and what I wasn’t wearing. The things making me uncomfortable were making me think I was a bad kid, because I didn’t want to do what my elder told me to do…I was cracking. I had to say something. I was seven. I was doing it because I was scared. I wanted it to stop.” She thought, “this was how fathers treated their daughters. This was normal interaction, and I was not normal for feeling uncomfortable about it.”
